Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostYou are welcome to our bit of heaven ah-la hobby farm. Our yard is not really level, but we have leveling blocks for you to use Grey water is a very easy dump.
If you want to take a walk in the woods, just look out the back right corner of our back yard or you can park on our back property. The back right corner of our yard leads back to the rest of our property under the power lines and back to the trees. A few people have permission to hunt back there and you can too if you have a NY license. We also have a field behind the barn with lots of room. I have a 30 amp plug size that only has 20 amps on the side of barn and easy water hookup, just let me know you want it.
I am a HAM radio operator KA4ZEO.
Please feel free to park for a few days unhook and explore the area, there is several museums and other things to see that are a fun day trip.
Your pets are welcome, but we do not have a fenced area for them. We have 2 dogs in the backyard on dog leads. We are a low impact farm that has chickens and ducks.
You can arrive after dark as there is an automatic light on the barn that will come on and help you park. We offer 30 amp plug with only 20 amps electric service and ask nothing in return for normal use. (microwave, battery charger and the like.)
You are welcome to use your air conditioner or electric heat 24 hours a day, but please offer to offset our cost of the electricity. Our cost is less than $5 for 24 hours of use. We pay 17.5 cents per kilowatt hour and a 30 amp RV with air conditioner and other uses can use about (16 amps)
No smoking on our property.
Enjoy the stay and be a good neighbor. :)
Paved good road
Parking on grass stone in my large yard. You have your own 30 amp size plug that has only 20 amps. (you can not use the air conditional and the microwave at the same time.) You can connect your hose to our well water. There is a motion sensing light on the barn to help you back in and the roosters in the barn may wake you early. If you want to cook a rooster that can be arranged. We have our own traffic jams in our yard.
You can park in our yard or you can park on our back property without water or power with a larger rig or several rigs. Most dates are open, but if we can not host you we will let you know when you request.

I suggest New York state museum and state plaza is about 30 miles from our home. in downtown Albany. You can also go up to an observation room on top of Corning Tower state office building across the street from the museum. As I recall it is free to go up to the observation deck for a breathtaking view. The observation deck is located on the 42nd floor. views of Albany, the Plaza, and surrounding areas can be enjoyed. Also visible are the Hudson River Valley, the Port of Albany, large portions of the city and its government, the foothills of the
Adirondacks, the Catskills, and the Berkshires of western Massachusetts.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (LAST CHECK-IN AT 3:45 p.m.).
There is a historic Carousel on the top floor of the museum as well a young family will enjoy.

Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort,
If you want to fish. In Massachusetts children under 15 do not need a license. I would suggest Pontoosuc lake. If adults want to fish you can get Massachusetts fishing license at Dave’s Sporting Goods just after the lake. 30 min (21.5 mi) via US-20 W from our home.
Pontoosuc Lake ( https://goo.gl/maps/WhHA6L9JWBJTtUTc9 ) in Google Maps.
The Stephentown Library is very close to us, It would be a short walk to get there. They are open till 6 PM.

No problem finding this sweet farm in the hills. Quiet night next to the barn. I loved the fowl and the area to walk my dog. Host was gracious and kind. Stay here.
As a first time guest, I couldn’t ask for a nicer host - very welcoming, has a lovely location, was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating!
Beautiful area, close to the Hudson River. Great views everywhere. Very welcoming hosts, good facilitiy, a little tight but manageable for big rigs (I'm 39' with a tow). I would not hesitate to ask to stay again and would certainly welcome them to visit me.
We had a great stay! Lots of good ideas for things to see in the area. Spent a day leaf peeping in the Berkshires. Hosts were fantastic, even suggested we stay an e tea night due to high winds on our travel route. Great spot, highly recommend.
We were delighted to be staying on a small farm after seeing many farms from afar on our cross-country drive. NY+MA were very accommodating hosts as were their adult children, who introduced us to a number of the small farm animals. Our plan to take a tromp through their woods, resplendent in fall color, was dashed by a drought-busting rainstorm, though. The place was lovely in the rain, too! We enjoyed their hospitality as well as the beautiful rural location.
We had such an awesome time at NY+MA! We got to see their animals and play with their dogs. Our kids super enjoyed the tree swing and the smores supplies and popcorn they gifted us. We would love to stay with them again and hope to see them someday out on the road.
Hosts were great, very accommodating. Gadget man strikes again. He helped me with a few things on my route, definitely appreciate his time
Great stay! Brett is a friendly and interesting guy with plenty of good information. We look forward to seeing him again.
It is a wonderful hobby Farm, goats chickens Ducks, you name it. The host was extremely kind and had excellent advice for a first-time boondocker like me!
The area is gorgeous!!
NY+MA are very accommodating and helpful. It's quite quiet and nice to be surrounded by fields and have chickens, goats, and ducks nearby. We recommend this spot to anyone. Definitely go grab some ice cream at Gardner's right down the road!
The hosts were away, but you would have never known. They were so helpful with sites in the area, parking information on licensing as well as going above and beyond to make our first Boondocking experience memorable and perhaps even spoiled us for future stays.
Their adult children were there and let us meet the animals and "help" clean up. Penny, Pickles, Levi and Gigantor all because our pals. Our boys loved it and within a 20 minute scenic drive to Mt Greylock, we are huge fans!
Also, there is a great one stop shopping spot within miles from the farm called Dave's.
We would LOVE to stay here again and definatly buy some eggs before leaving. We didn't get to catch them when we left but hope they had a wonderful time as well.
We enjoyed our first experience using Boondockers Welcome. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and we were able to utilize the trails behind the house to exercise our dog. We are thankful for the hospitality!
This was my family's first BW stay! They were welcoming, kind, and generous. A great start to a big road trip!
This place was amazing. Very easy to find, all the roads leading to it are easily accessible and the spot itself was very easy to back in. Plenty of room to pull forward and line it up so youre basically backing straight in. Plenty of space in the yard. For slides or awnings.
Our host was amazing. Not only did he hook us up to water, wifi, and power, but he had chickens and ducks that my wife got to feed and play with. He even gave us some duck eggs.
We were just passing through so we only stayed the one night but If we are ever in the albany area again we will definitely try and stay again.
Enjoyed our night. Great, easy location to get to and out of. Welcoming and helpful.
We loved our second stay here. Filled with information and the kids loved the water play and meeting the chickens! Thanks again for another wonderful stay!
We traveled to the area for a less than happy reason, to visit a family member who was gravely ill. Our hosts were incredible: they were generous with assisting us with parking, and provided us with way more than we expected—30 amp power, water, assistance with our faulty hose connection, offers to use a power washer, and farm fresh eggs! Most of all, we appreciated a kind, safe space to come home to each evening after spending long days at the hospital. We 100% would recommend this unique, special location. This kind of experience is why we joined Boondockers Welcome.
We stopped at the farm for a short overnight. Not only did they offer their spot, but gave us a ton of eggs from their happy free range chickens and ducks. After we left, they even reached out to us in message to share some important information we needed for our RV. Never expected it, but they went above and beyond. We really appreciate y'all. Happy travels!
We have a lovely quiet evening with Horses and Hunting. Being nearer the road we thought it would be noisy but it turned out to be the best nights sleep. Even the rooster was crowing softly in the morning.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Great chats were had and we did a lot of discovering in the area. We hope that you get to travel as you plan........so see you soon.
They were helpful and gracious hosts. He wasn't home when we arrived, but swung by to check on us when he got back (we stayed in the back property), and in the morning there were a dozen fresh eggs waiting for us that he had dropped off before heading to work. We only stayed one night, but would definitely stay again!
We had a nice nights rest after skiing, and in the morning we received some farm fresh eggs! Thanks so much we look forward for future visits.
Brett was a great host and a nice quiet country location to stay. Also gave me some farm fresh eggs to enjoy back home! Hope to visit there again soon
I’m very new to this site and boondocking and staying here made it one of my most excellent first times boondocking! I just needed a place to stay the night on my way through and the hosts were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure I was settled, comfortable, and warm when a lot of snow came through. I learned more about power and electricity and some tips moving forward from the host that I’m very thankful for.
They even offered to let me use their snow shoes to explore their acreage which I would’ve loved to do if I’d had more time here. I did spend a few moments watching their beautiful chickens play around. I would definitely stay here again, maybe in the summer instead, and I highly recommend this place to others!
Thank you very much!
Even though they were in major outdoor renovation mode B made sure we had water and electricity. Very accommodating and friendly. Great host.
We had the privilege to be the first to stay at this new host location. The host and his family were very welcoming. Our girls enjoyed chasing the chickens, ducks and roosters around the property and we even had the opportunity to try some fresh eggs. Back in is easy, right off the main road next to the coups. Water and electric were easy to hook up. We had an excellent time soaking in farm life and would stay again.
