Just recently changed the notice required time to same day ok instead of one day and will do my best to accommodate people but I must ask that you arrive before dark. Power post, water and sewer is about 150 ft off the road. MH's smaller than 38ft can turn around in front of our house. Larger units would have to back in off the road to the post or pull in and back out in the morning.
There are two very large maple trees to the south that provide nice shade during the day and the spot is all grass and parallel to our gravel driveway. If we had a lot of rain recently I would more than likely park your unit in the driveway next to the post. Roof TV antenna should pick up local Wilkes-Barre TV stations, ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. There is a very small convenience store 2 miles away and a Weis market grocery and Dollar General in Catawissa about 8 miles away.
Dogs must be kid friendly as our grandchildren live close by. We don't want to say no to children but they must be well behaved and respectful of our property. If your running two AC's or 2 Electric heaters while here a very small donation towards the electric use would be appreciated. There are areas on the farm where your dog is welcome to run off the leash but we don't have a fenced in area. FYI. The farmer next door has been picking beans most days and the - picker is very loud due to the engine and the big fans used to separate the leaves from the beans.
One small hill coming from Rt-80 but several larger hills coming from Rt-81.
Next to rig.
Our site is available when we are home. We are trying to camp at a few PA state parks this summer. There are 61 that allow camping and we have stayed at 12 so far. Got a few more to go.
Little league world stadium is a one hour drive from here. The family owned Knoebels Amusement resort is 5 miles away. A free parking, free admission amusement park with great food options, Open all summer till Labor day and weekends till the end of Oct. Also lots of covered bridges in the area and the Ashland Pioneer Coal Mine attraction is about 10 mins away. Roaring Creek Quaker meeting house built in 1796 and the a joining cemetary is only 2 miles away. Bloomsburg fairgrounds is 10 miles and has lots of different events during the year. Also have an eight mile closed road used for hiking or biking and a large water shed for canoeing or kayaking nearby in the Weiser state forest. Also have Numidia dragways. Local drag strip a few miles away. Bills Bike Barn is about 30 mins and is a unique collection of lots of stuff. Don't let the name fool you.
This was my second time visiting with RCV. Great spot with a nice view, it's always a pleasure.
Our hosts where great! Helped get our rig setup and invited us to join them in the local Halloween festivities. Site was good has full hookups and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay.
Thanks, we will definitely keep you in mind when we travel their way again.
Requested to stay on short notice while on our return home from a wedding. Randy responded quite quickly with a yes despite our late arrival time. Got in at 11:30 PM and parked next to their rig rather than hook up to the amenities they provide. I was afraid to block their driveway or park on the lawn neither of which would have bothered them but I got there too late to know it was fine. I met with them in the morning and had a nice visit, I regret my visit was so short but my wife wasn't feeling well and I was under pressure to get her home. Their home is situated on the side of a hill with a beautiful view. On return trip saw how pretty the countryside is around them. They were very gracious offering coffee and a tour of their rig. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a nice place to stay with great countryside views and wonderful hosts try to make this a place to visit.
The title says it all. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from our camper and saw the most magnificant sunrise. Our hosts were very friendly and informative about the area. On their suggestion, we went to a amusement park close to their house, that has free admission and free parking. We had a great time and would like to go back. We look forward to staying there again and spending more time.
My husband and I just stopped in for a night but had a great stay! They were very welcoming and helpful, and even helped jumpstart our car once we got there! They had a beautiful piece of property and it was very peaceful and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay!
They have a beautiful country setting that is peaceful and quiet. The view of the valley was one worthy of pictures. But, the absolute best part of our stay was our hosts Randy-Lee. They made us more than welcome at their oasis for travelers. We will definitely go back when our travels take us in that direction again.
Could not have asked for more gracious hosts. They were so thoughtful and kind. Looking forward to staying there again and spending time with them. Thank you for such a nice hookup for water and electric. You have a beautiful Motor Home. Enjoyed the tour.
We had a great time. Our hosts were friendly and gracious. We had a lovely talk about their trip to Alaska that was quite helpful towards the planning of our own trip in the future. We would definitely like to stay again if our travels bring us that way again. They even invited us up for coffee in the morning!
I loved staying at their place. The hospitality and view could not have been better. Hope to stop by on my way back to Florida and visit them again.
Had a great stay the hosts could not have been more friendly. They had water power and septic dump available.
Super nice couple.
Full hook ups and a great view.
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience our first time staying at a Boondockers Welcome.
Really enjoyed our stay. Property was so lovely and peaceful! Hosts were so helpful and kind! Great suggestion to visit Bill's Bike Barn, really enjoyed it, awesome interesting place. And Knoebel's Amusement park, fun time. Thank you so much!!!
On the way back from Canada I hit several traffic jams on I-81 and was not able to make my way back to Baltimore in the daylight. I was in a pickle and sent a request via boondockerswelcome to Randy-Lee who responded promptly and welcomed me with open arms.
The house and property are stunning and located in PA's breathtaking mountains. My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay a bit longer and get to know my hosts.
Our stay was only one night but it couldn't have been better. Pre-arrival communication was excellent. The facilities are complete with electricity, water and sewer -- thought we did not need any of them on that day. The hosts are friendly. We met several of their family as they invited us for coffee form the sun porch. The rural Pennsylvania countryside is beautiful. Hope to have an opportunity to visit again and that Randy-Lee will be able to visit us in Kansas one day.
This was our first stay using Boondockerswelcome.com. We could not have asked for a better experience. Randy-Lee were excellent hosts - helpful and knowledgable. The setting is beautiful with views of the farmland. There was another couple also staying the night we were there. We all chatted in the evening and even got meet our host's family. Convenient location. We hope to visit them again.
We were given helpful directions and when we arrived, were warmly welcomed to their beautiful spot under a huge maple tree. We enjoyed the quiet , country atmosphere and also the wonderful conversations we had with them. Very warm, friendly people.
We had a great stay! We enjoyed a nice, relaxed talk with our hosts both evening and morning. We have only been travelling 8 months with our first motorhome and they had encouraging stories of their travels, and some tips we had not heard or read before. Wonderful stop!
Sorry for the delay in response. We have been in locations where the internet was poor. The location provides and awesome view. The host sight is a very short drive to Knobel's Amusement Park, which is historic and has plenty to do. There are also several other local attractions. The hosts were personable and friendly. They even provided wood blocking for leveling. We would re
Very nice couple. Made us feel welcome, and we had a long chat with them last evening and this morning before we left. A very quiet and picturesque spot to stay. Gordon & Anne
The hosts are lovely and gracious, and shared so much of their experiences in Nova Scotia and Alaska....they brought their trips to life, and renewed my desire to visit both places....
The hosts are relaxed and friendly, and offer a beautiful idyllic spot to "sit a spell"...
Hoping their clutch of robins eggs is successful!...
Randy was waiting for me outside and offered different locations to place my rig. Also offered electric and water. We chatted a bit and we spent a few minutes in the house to share stories. We continued in the morning over a cup of coffee. Great place to stay. Randy and Lee are a wonderful couple and are very welcoming.
A nice couple that like to meet their guest and spend time with them. Great spot with a nice view and very quiet.
Hope to stay there another time.
We have been Boondockers Welcome members for several years but this is the first time we actually scheduled a visit and what a wonderful introduction! RandD could not have made our stay any better from their communication while we were arranging the visit to helpfulness when we arrived. Their site is beautiful and blissfully quiet. They are gracious and I wish we'd had more time to hear more about their travels. Having the electricity available was wonderful with the cold that rolled in the night we were there. Their home is on a road that is also great for a morning walk or run and their new additions, two beagle mixes, were entertaining. All in all we could not have hoped for better.
This was such a pleasure to have a FHU spot in such a beautiful setting. So quiet and peaceful. Host could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Wish I had more time to stay instead of just one night. Hopefully, I’ll get to come back again. And I sure hope our paths cross again. Very interesting and sweet couple.
We stayed one night with Randy and it was very nice. Quiet and dark made for a great restful night. What a wonderful couple. Warm hospitality! We hope to come back one day.
