this a 5 acre lot at the end of a small deadend street... 600 acre peanut farm behind us with one quiet neighbor... a very quiet rural florida setting... it is fenced in so pets can be loose with out constant supervision.there is some shade trees to get under and a free standing deck behind the house with a fire ring for lounging around.. closest town is 13 miles away ( williston fl )... quiet neighborhood that we enjoy walking on the hard sandy roads morning and evening...very quiet , some may call it boring ,, we call it relaxing!
just good common sense and check with hosts if u have any ??s.... We would prefer no smoking, but we are realists so keep the smoking to a minimum... we enjoy dogs and have room for them to run around but they must be well behaved with us or other guests...it works best if u park at the gate and find us to help park u... sometimes we have multiple guests both Boondocker or otherwise... a text or phone call with your estimated ETA helps...
all weather gravel/sand road for a mile off the Hwy to the property... only in the worst rains is it a problem...
we have 5 acres so parking the vehicles is not much of a problem after we have the big rigs parked n set up..
we will not be here at our florida home til mid october this year... usually we get there early november.. and we do travel a lot while there... so u just have to call or message and see what we have going on... we are pretty flexible and try to be low maintenance.. we love to meet and greet , and help new folks with their travels... it's a karma thing!!
Crystal River on the Gulf Coast is 25-30 miles away and is one of the best winter spots for seeing manatees.. lotsa sites to bike ride, and kayak... big college town of U. of Florida at Gainesville is 30 miles away with lots to do..
Very friendly and welcomIng host. Many things to do in the area. Welcomed us into there home. Very highly recommended.
Great stay ,very quiet ,not far from grocery etc
Busy couple but informative
What a wonderful stay we had with an opportunity to be in rural Florida. Perfect!
Deb and Pascal are most friendly and welcoming. They invited us to join them in a morning bike ride in their hidden neighbor spot. Not to worry, we won’t reveal. There are things to do in the area, or it’s a great quiet place just to hang out. We plan to return for sure.
Thanks to Debbie & Pascal for hosting us.
We enjoyed the calm. We had the opportunity to film a beautiful turtle and for the first time we saw a Fox squirrel.
Several beef ranches and probably the largest number of peanut farms in Florida.
Pascal is preparing his land to build his new house.
Rej & Lyne
A peaceful, quiet property perfect for getting some rest and close to Ocala, Crystal River, Devil's Den and Goethe State Forest! Wonderful hosts, super friendly and accommodating, we had a great time visiting and got some wonderful tips on photography and new (to us) music to listen to! Thank you both for an awesome time and for all your kindness! We'd love to see you again! 💚
Great place to get away and relax for a quiet evening. Add great hosts and some conversation, to made it great. sodakryer went out of his way to make sure that everything was taken care of. Later, we both shared some photographs we made.
Looking forward to our return.
The location had ample room (for even those "learning on the fly" like us- only owned less than 2 months) and the hosts were very knowledgeable about the area. Hiking, biking, and horse trails are available in almost every direction just a few miles away. Every store and restaurant imaginable is less than 30 mins away (many open late or all night like Walmart, Taco Bell, etc ),& about the same distance to several local landfills to dump trash. The host couple were very friendly and accommodating, and we met a few great fellow BW couples there during our stay. During the day you can see the beautiful rolling fields nearby, and plenty of shade/breeze so we left our windows open most of our stay. In one spot (the one we were lucky enough to get) the host graciously had an outdoor mat and chairs to use for guests. In my book, that is extremely thoughtful and was a pleasant surprise:)
Highly recommend this location and can't wait to go back or find them along our travels one day.
We had a pleasant stay here with very friendly and welcoming hosts. It was quiet with lots of stars at night. We would stay here again. Thanks P&D!
We had a really great stay at Travelers Rest Florida. Our stay was only two nights and we sure
could have used a few more days here! The location was beautiful, with plentiful walking
and biking opportunities. Our hosts invited us to participate in various activities as well as
just plain old relaxing and sharing stories! Our host shared with us his art of photography
which was absolutely breathtaking! We look forward to future visits with them! Thank you for
the great stay!
Travelers Rest florida is just that. We had some of the best sleep of our lives here and the distant sounds of cows mooing and coyotes yipping only served to gently lull us into la-la land. The night sky viewing is pretty darn close to as good as it gets. One of the reasons we chose Travelers Rest was its proximity to Ocala, where we'd scheduled some repairs to be done on our RV. During our time at Travelers Rest, we discovered MUCH more of Florida's natural beauty and wonders literally outside our doorstep. Our hosts were welcoming, informative about the area and extremely accommodating, inviting us to join them and other guest for drinks, snacks, socializing, storytelling, bicycling adventures, bird and gator viewing and so helpful with any abd all questions and concerns.
We are blessed to have met these folks and will look forward to returning again someday, just for the fun of it and the connection!
Hosts were very generous and offered water and electric.
They also have great recommendations on places to walk, bike or run.
Only about 25 or 30 minutes to the gulf coast.
2 or 3 bars of Verizon
Our hosts were very friendly and kind. We particularly enjoyed a cozy patio gathering with them and other Boondockers on the last evening of our stay. We had drinks, snacks and good conversation. It was a treat to listen as each couple shared about their travels and adventures.
Our hosts were perfect:)
Thank you so much for your generous hospitality!
Thanks for your hospitality and especially for the get together with you and the other guests.
It's always interesting to talk with other RVers.
Too bad you don't have horses anymore !
Thank you FARO
Was in in or near the forest, dirt road and very quiet. Hosts were very kind. Thank you
Super nice hosts, very accommodating. Didn’t get to spend much time together due to my work schedule, wish we could have gotten to know them better. Nice, quiet property with a good setup. Met some other really cool boondockers we hope to see again. Suffice to say it was another great BW stay!
We really enjoyed our time here and the hosts were really nice and even took Jonas to play basketball with him.
We had an evening with other boondockers and the hosts and shared stories.
This was our very first stay & I can't praise this host enough ! Peaceful surroundings, electric & water provided, shade or sun, your choice. No sounds of traffic, nor lights to disturb a wonderful nights rest - just Perfect. Thank you !
We were looking for somewhere to stay over Christmas and the hosts not only opened their property to us to boondock (while providing electric and water!) but invited all 6 of us to join them for a Christmas Eve dinner. There are no words to express how wonderful it was to spend the holiday with others, surrounded by Christmas decor that reminded us of our childhood (and families back home). We truly felt like part of the family.
Parking and set up was super easy. The kids loved being able to explore the property. It was quiet and peaceful.
We had an amazing time, and will remember their generosity every time we talk about our RV'ing adventures!
Thanks again - so much!!
These people were the most fantastic hosts you could ever ask for. Their hospitality was most enjoyable! This is one place you have to book!!!
Karl and his wife are wonderful hosts. It was our 1st Boondockers Welcome experience and it couldn't have went better. Their house is in a very peaceful location while still being easily accessible to local towns. We had a great balance of privacy, with the van facing the trees but we were able to chat and interact with our hosts daily. Karl took my wife on a nice morning walk and they even opened their house up to us over some drinks, music and some of their fantastic photography. We had a lovely evening with them and they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. If you are looking for some peace on the road look no further! Thank you!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome site and are we glad we picked them! The feeling of being with family was so nice. Their conversations were delightful and their overwhelming hospitality was so warming. It was just a pleasure to be here. They have 2 beautiful horses and I am not a horse person so that means a lot.
They invited us to attend a fair with them and sorry to say we had to decline and I am sure it would have been fun. They provided us with water and 30 amps and that was most outstanding. If you need a place to stay, THIS IS THE ONE! Thank you so much for the memories. Hope we get to see you again!
We past 2 days at their place and it's was like home. We bike 21 miles with them in the hilly country side and it's was wonderfull.
Thank you for everything
We recently stayed for 3 nights as a central spot for visiting local springs. The site was flat, very quiet and dark. On our first night we enjoyed a camp fire with 2 other sets of guests and were very generously invited to a lovely dinner with the hosts and friends another night! Paschal also took us out in his kayaks to see manatees and we joined him and Deb for a walk. Overall our stay was full of adventure and fantastic, generous people!
Great welcoming couple , nice rural setting , great campfire tales with a horses in the background . It is what makes boondocking special meeting kind people like Deb and Pascal . Hope we meet again .
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay with our hosts. We had an awesome campfire with them and their other guests. It’s so enjoyable to meet other folks from all over the world and hear their stories! Great times! Hope to see them all down the road!
When your hosts are such great people that you want to stay longer ..... This is what you will experience staying here. A quiet country location and evenings with friends around the campfire. Camping at its best.
We had a great time at Traveler's Rest, in spite of having some mechanical issues. Paschal and Deb graciously allowed us to stay a little longer than originally planned, until we had it taken care of and could proceed safely.
We had a great time with dinner out, as well as a nice social evening in and good conversations. We enjoyed looking over their photos. Paschal even gave us some great tips on getting better shots with our own camera.
We are really happy to have met this wonderful couple who feel like new friends, and very grateful to have found such a nice, private spot to spend a few days. Plus the area itself is one of the most beautiful in Florida. We loved exploring it!
Though I was there for only 1 night, they made me feel right at home. Offered electrical & water hookup, which I didn't use, but it was SO nice that they offered it. I'm thinking I may just have to come back so I can go kayaking with them!!
We had unexpected events change our travel plans so instead of staying the planned 4 nights, we only stayed 1 night. But it was a very pleasurable time. Great hosts with great stories were very accommodating with many helpful hints for us newcomers to boondocking.
Wow! What wonderful hosts.! We stayed 4 nights and can say we have become good friends - I know we will see again. We spent time visiting, the guys went birding together and they took us to a endurance horse race that they have been part of. That was really cool! And yet we did our own thing when we wanted. Quiet country atmosphere- just wonderful!
Great place to spend some quiet time in the country.
Paschal and Deb were great hosts, helping us get parked and set up.
Perfect location to explore the surrounding area.
We will definitely be back when in the area.
Thanks Paschal and Deb for being awesome hosts.
Paschal & Deb are very friendly and informative. Loved talking with them about their sport. They were kind enough to invite us to a delicious dinner party that was planed with their friends. Loved the very rural setting and hearing the coyotes at night. I definitely recommend this site for a few day visit. Thank You Paschal & Deb.
We've never felt more a part of a Boondockers Welcome host family! Our hosts and we both really enjoy outdoor activities, so they planned a few to help us enjoy the area, including two kayak trips and a bike trip. We were also invited in for a lovely dinner party with their friends. We had a truly memorable time and more have new friends for life! Thanks so much you guys! You're good people :)
This was a great stay- the hosts are super friendly and inviting. Lots of room to pull-thru in the front yard, and hooked up to power at no cost. The location is pretty secluded, but it's quiet and peaceful. Exactly what I needed! :) Would definitely recommend this stay if passing through Florida.
We arrived in the evening to stay for 1 night before making our way up to check out a local spring the next day. The hosts were welcoming and helped direct us where to park so our van would be evened out. We chatted with them for about an hour or so before tucking in to our van for the evening. We had a quiet, rejuvenating night of sleep and let ourselves out the following morning. Beautiful, hidden location - lots of local wildlife around. Would like to return next time we're in the area.
After reading the glowing reviews, we had high expectations for our overnight stay at Travelers Rest and were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed. Pascal invited us to join him for a glass of wine on the back patio while Deb attended to a sick horse. We were regaled us with stories of endurance horse racing and shown their photography portfolio. What an interesting couple! The property itself was quiet and we had a very relaxing night. We definitely will be back!
Enjoyed my one night. Went to dinner with hosts, their friends, and another boondocker. Very friendly. Good spot put away from everything.
Pascal and Debbie were wonderful & friendly hosts.
They invited us out to the back deck for some conversation and we had a great time looking at their photography of horses and stuff, they are very good photographers and loved looking at their portfolios. Thank you for everything
Love ❤️ these hosts. Deb even invited me to join her horselady’s night out on the town.
I spent a lot of time looking through their gorgeous photography.
Thanks Deb and Pascal.
We very much enjoyed our stay here! We ended up arriving on Thanksgiving and our hosts graciously invited us to dinner with thier friends :) We had a nice evening along with some other boondockers who'd arrived as well. The location was very quiet and peaceful. We appreciated the good balance between conversations with our hosts, and plenty of privacy to ourselves. We are glad to have found this spot!
We spent one night in this quiet and peaceful horse farm area of rural Florida. The hosts have two beautiful horses and their home is off any main road, so really great for stargazing. We slept well and travelled on the next day although we were invited for Thanksgiving dinner! The hosts are friendly and interesting people...just wish we had stayed a little longer. You can definitely take day trips to springs and Cedar Key. That’s worth a trip. Hope to be back soon...maybe on our way back north. Many thanks 😀😀
This was our first time as BoondockersWelcome guests, and these hosts far exceeded our expectations!
We were welcomed warmly, and given a nice, partially shaded spot with an electrical hookup. Our hosts were even kind enough to invite us in for Thanksgiving dinner!
We would highly recommend these hosts, and would stay again in a heartbeat!
Thanks, sodakryder! :-)
