Our home is located on 10 acres of partially treed / wooded with grass and hay. We have a small pond and kids can fish, horseshoe pits, exploring our hidden pond and please enjoy our gardens! We have wifi, but only up close to the house. We are happy to provide the pass code. Verizon works great in our area, but other services may be hit and miss.
We do have a fence, although 70% of the fence is simply barbed wire and not secure.
If you have dogs, it would be best if we take turns letting our dogs off leash. Our dogs are kept in outside dog kennels when we are not with them. They are friendly.....
Quiet after 10pm.
No hunting on our property.
We need to coordinate our dogs activities.......
No smoking on the property please!
We live on a gravel road. 1 mile of gravel to arrive on our property. Our driveway is also gravel as is the parking for your RV. There may be some road dust....... Be prepared to make a wide turn into our drive thru the gate. We have a large 36' Fifth wheel and have no problems. There are no trees to worry about other than just be aware as driving the mile down to our property, you may want to stay in the middle of the road in areas. Your RV parking area is the north/east end of the metal barn. You well see it as you turn into our drive (two roll-up doors and a flag pole).
Next to your rig there is plenty of room!
We travel during the winter, and take smaller trips so won't always be available......
We have a blue and gold star memorial within a couple miles from our home located on the Antique Fairgrounds which has a variety of activities throughout the year and is a lovely place to visit! There is dining, shopping, and lots of historical places to visit all within driving distance.
We have an organic free range egg farm down the road for fresh eggs and chickens.
I loved everything about this boondocking site and the hosts. Beautiful and quiet location in the countryside, lovely gardens, super friendly and interesting hosts. I hope I get to meet up with them again sometime during our travels. Thank you!!!
A blooming butterfly garden welcomed us along the driveway of this lovely location. The hosts were equally welcoming and so helpful and friendly. The peaceful setting afforded every convenience plus a beautiful outlook across the pond and fields. Very special! Thank you P&J.
the Best things in Life are the People (and Pets) we Love, the places we've been and the MEMORIES we've made along the way .........
We spent 2 nights in Lathrop, MO area with great hosts and their dogs.
J and P greeted us when we arrived and made it very easy for us to park our 5th wheel on a great level gravel spot with electricity hookup.
They have a beautiful country property with a pond and amazing gardens.
We invited them for dinner on our second night and after dinner storm clouds rolled in and they insisted we come up to their house to watch the storm in the screened porch which we did over dessert.
Thank you for the wonderful conversations and hospitality.
We would love to come back for another visit and welcome you to visit us.

These hosts are welcoming & generous with their property. Directions were precise, accessibility was suitable even for our 41ft fifth wheel and the hosts were beyond helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful country setting & truly appreciate their hospitality.
We made it, thanks to you! Our 3400 mile trip home including a little detour to Minnesota, is complete. Your hospitality is the best and your homestead is magnificent. Wish we had had more time to stay and enjoy. Our regrets that Ollie is getting old and forgetful. Best wishes from all of us.
We had a great, albeit quick, stay. Even with a few changes in dates and timing of arrival and departure, joystoeffler made us feel welcome and were accommodating. Their land was a wonderful spot to overnight and the dogs loved being able to stretch their legs and explore. If we are ever back in the area we would love to stay again and explore more! Maybe even help ID some trees :) Thanks again!
We truly enjoyed our time in Lathrop - a beautiful and peaceful setting in the country with excellent hookups, conveniently located near Kansas City. The grounds are incredibly well maintained and our hosts, Paul & Joy, were very kind and generous. Not only did they open up their property to us and our two pups, but allowed us to take some vegetables from their amazing garden and also provided fish food so we could feed the fish in their pond! We had a great time getting to know Paul (sadly, Joy was out of town so we did not have the pleasure of meeting her in person) and would very highly recommend this host location to anyone looking for a great stay out in the country. Thank you again, Paul and Joy, for providing us with such a wonderful experience!
They were dream hosts! They welcomed us warmly when we arrived, gave us multiple options for how to park our RV, and made sure we felt welcome and accommodated for our entire stay. The location is far enough from the city that the stars really shine brightly at night. All of their neighbors within sight have wide open acerages too, so it seems much larger than 10 acres. The entrance to their driveway is wide enough that I didn't have to even try to clear the sides with our 30 foot Travel trailer behind our Yukon. They gave us a bag of fish food so our children could feed the fish in their pond, which was a real treat for them. They gave us vegetables from a garden that they clearly put a lot of time and effort into, which went straight into the instant pot and were delicious. We were squeezing a lot of activity into a short time frame. He offered for us to stay an additional night, which helped a lot. There is more great stuff I could ramble on about. It really was an ideal stay for us. These two have lived interesting lives and it shows in their ease with making pleasant conversation. We didn't expect such an accommodating stay, but we definitely appreciated it.
