House Rules
We ask that everyone text before arrival. We have dogs that are well trained to 'notify' us of visitors. They have been known to jump. The text allows us to kennel them before you arrive so as to not startle anyone. Pets are welcome but they must be leashed as we free range our chickens. No smoking is allowed Kids are welcome however, they are not allowed in the pasture or barn without direct supervision. We have large animals. We can accommodate a temporary pasture area for horses if you need it. Please let us know when contacting us. Since we do actively farm we ask for quiet after 10pm. We will do our best to not wake you early, but make no assurances the roosters won't.

Great communication. I was greeted by their beautiful dogs with wagging tails and one escorted me through the property where I parked. I arrived before host finished work, so I parked according to their text instructions. Beautiful property. Lots of wonderful animals. Enjoyed watching them. Marley loves chickens, rosters and ducks so enjoyed watching them from the window and on his walk. He absolutely loves cats and saw one out the window before bedtime. There’s cows in a beautiful pasture and the views are peaceful. Property is well kept. Beautiful home. Quite and peaceful rest. Didn’t get to meet the host, but quickly responded to my messages. My plans changed with a friend visit in the area, so I only stayed one night instead of two. Great overnight stop for us. Thank you for a peaceful and safe stay. Lindy and Marley IG:@tinyvanbiglife

The Monty Homestead was a perfect stay. Close to Minneapolis, St Paul and Bloomington and quiet and peaceful at night. Loved having the chickens, ducks and dogs around us and being able to see the cows out in the pasture. We had a lot planned so we didn't see our hosts much but they were very friendly and communication was excellent. 50 amp service and easy pull or back in (your choice). If turning in right heading north, swing wide. We would definitely stay here again.

I am not great at backing up, I did not take the time to ask if its somethin I would need to do or not. As their well head was near by I was even more worried. Boy was I happy when I got there, they had pleanty of room for me to pull forward and back up almost straight. They arranged an amazing lightening storm for me :). It was fun to watch all their birds roaming around. Nice place to relax for the night.

We enjoyed our stay at this working farm. The cows and duck family visited us a couple times (on the other side of a fence) and there were lots of chickens and roosters roaming. Open, grassy, and level parking. We didn’t get to visit with the hosts much but did buy a couple dozen of their fresh eggs.
