Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe have an old Maine farmhouse on ten acres that is located about half way between Portland and Freeport. Friendly dogs are welcome and we have a large field and some woods that they are welcome to investigate.
No smoking on property.
Very easy access.
We have plenty of room in our driveway or on the lawn next to the garage.
We are about half way between Portland and Freeport. There are lots of wonderful restaurants, microbreweries, farmers markets, music venues, etc. within a twenty minute distance. We are happy to help with rides to these places to help you out. Lots of good shopping in Portland and many outlets in Freeport, and of course L. L. Bean!
After some initial miscommunication we settled in for a quiet peaceful evening.
The yard is expansive and beautiful. I was hesitant to drive on it but encouraged to do so to take advantage of some shade.
srholdens place is spacious and idyllic. They welcomed us so heartful, even though they would had been out for the evening. We spent a wonderful night at their lovely farmhouse and were even treated with some delicious homemade cookies. Great place, great and friendly hosts that cared for us a lot. Thank you so much for having us!!
I want to thank my hosts for a wonderful visit to their beautiful home and grounds. I could not have been more welcomed and comfortable. I was greeted and directed to a very level location near the garage, and given 15 amp electric, which was sufficient for my needs. My TV picked up several channels without even putting up the antenna. Their ten acres offers you a nice place to stretch your legs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I did not get to spend but one night, due to my not wanting to get caught up in approaching storm. There is so much to see and do in the area, and I hope to return next year and get the tour of Portland offered by host. I am trying to follow rules and not mention names, which is hard because I felt so comfortable getting to know them. And to top it off, breakfast at local café was the best, especially the hot and spicy bacon. A great stay for sure, and hope to stay in contact with hosts in the future.
These are longtime “Mainers”. Great tour guides, they know all the trails and waterways. Best hosts and beautiful, quiet location. We hope to spend time with them again...anywhere!
This property is beautiful and quiet. Stacy and Bill were very generous and welcoming hosts. They provided tips on places to visit in the area. Russell the dog is a sweetheart.
We loved every minute of our three night stay with Stacey on her beautiful property. We felt welcomed the minute we arrived and were sad when the time came to leave. I am reticent to give too many details of our time at the farmhouse as she downright spoiled us and our daughter. Her dog, Russell, is a sweetheart and enlivened our own grumpy pooch. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We hope we can host you and yours one day!
Hosts were wildly accommodating, even ordered up terrific weather. Their spot is level and safe with a charming view. Close enough to highway, but the only “noise” was a delightfully quiet train! Loved my stay.
We would never have known they were new to Boondockers as they were great hosts! Stacey was friendly and very accommodating and we enjoyed our stay in their shady yard very much. They had a large lot for walking the dog, a fire pit, and outdoor tables & chairs as well! We highly recommend Maine Farmhouse and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Can't say enough about how warm and hospitable our hostess was. Parked along the trees on their large lawn for shade as
It was very hot. She ran an extension cord so we could run a fan. Greeted us with wild Maine blueberries, what a treat. Big yellow dog that will bark at you, but really wants you to throw his ball. Very close to Freeport, easy 20 minute drive. Yarmouth is a neat community and 5 miles away.
