We are about 20 min from downtown Ottawa in a small village setting. You will need to back in along the side of the house. I normally park my 40’ motorhome there but I have another driveway that I can move it to after you let me know when you will be arriving.
We would expect our guess to stay for a maximum of three nights. We are pretty easy going and we expect that the noise level would not bother our neighbors after 10 pm.
You have to back in. It’s a bit of a grade to back in but you park on level ground which is gravel covered.
We will assist you with directions and instructions on all the major attractions that Ottawa has to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nite stay at Henry's SideYard (back in Aug 2019). The host is a wonderful person. Our 43' ClassA easily backed in & fit nicely on the level paved parking spot next to the house. A rafter of wild turkeys passed thru his neighborhood on one of the mornings.. We recommend a stay with this gracious BW host while visiting Ottawa.
(We're so sorry that we overlooked providing a very positive review that should also have been timely. But better late than never. We hope to see you on our next trip to Ottawa!!)
Our Betsyonwheels stay was wonderful. I couldnt say enough about our stay there. Our host was friendly and one heck of s table tennis player. would love to go there again.
We had a pleasant stay with a congenial host and a bit of a collector of motorhomes, bits and pieces. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to unforeseen events. Enjoyed talking sports with our host.
Our host wasn’t home when we got there but he made sure everything was there for us to set up. We spent a few hours visiting family in town and when we got back Betsyonwheels had a nice fire going for us, offered us a drink and we spent the next hour and a half chatting with him by the fire under a beautiful starry night.
All in all a great experience and we’ll be using boondockers welcome again.
Henry was outside to welcome us with open arms as we pulled up parked right away without hassle. We got set up and Henry and I had a very short conversation. Day two we jam-packed as much as we could in had a very hectic schedule and felt very comfortable leaving our RV with Henry. Managed to get a little talking time on the way out I get the feeling they wish we had stayed longer which is a very nice feeling. Thanks again Henry for making our family feel welcome.
This was a great stay. We were only there overnight but host was great at communicating and very gracious to invite us to dinner. Easy parking and convenient location. Thanks!
Henry's positive attitude and his hands on approach to assisting us defines what a 'Super Host' is. From the moment we arrived he assisted us in getting set up on his great Boondocking site, he even provided a heavy duty extension cord to plug into the 30 amp outlet. When I expressed my concern about a brake noise we started to hear on our way from Toronto to Ottawa Henry (retired mechanic) climbed under our Motor Home and checked all the disc brakes for every wheel (6 of) He provided us with some fresh corn also invited us to join him and his family for a BBQ. He is an exceptionally friendly and helpful person. We would highly recommend visiting him if you are looking for a great place to Boondock in the Ottawa area. We extended our stay from 2 to 3 nights at Henry's invitation.
Henrie and Sonja were very gracious hosts. They provided us with a spot for our 34 foot 5th wheel, and 30 amp power for 3 nights...which was greatly appreciated. Not only because of their close proximity to Ottawa’s (and family), but because of how hot and muggy it is. It was wonderful to be able turn on our ac and come home to coolness!
Unfortunately, we didn’t much time with them, due to family commitments, but we’d come back in a heart beat...sat outside last night and enjoyed a fire and fresh home made cheese curds!
Thanks again you two, we were honoured to be your first guests!. Come see us in Keremeos, you have a spot!
