We are about 20 min from downtown Ottawa in a small village setting. You will need to back in along the side of the house. I normally park my 40’ motorhome there but I have another driveway that I can move it to after you let me know when you will be arriving. Suggested Local Attractions:We will assist you with directions and instructions on all the major attractions that Ottawa has to offer.

House Rules

We would expect our guess to stay for a maximum of four nights. We are pretty easy going and we expect that the noise level would not bother our neighbors after 10 pm.

Traveling Firefighter Details: I am semi-retired, love to travel and visit new sites. Spend winters down south. Enjoy the RV life. Home Town: Cumberland, Ontario Favorite Boondocking Locations: Well it’s a bit hard to pick a favourite as all my stays have been very enjoyable. I think that when people have things in common, it’s easy to get along and share stories. Skills or Expertise to Share: I am a bit of a handyman. Worked for years as a mechanic. I own excavation equipment so I have experience as an operator as well. I was a firefighter for 31 years. Retired from firefighting May of 2021.

We appreciated Henry helping us set up and giving us a nice quiet place to stay with power, water and wifi. He gave us a great introduction to Boondockers Welcome

we could not have been treated better by our host Henry while we were visiting family in downtown Ottawa. he helped fix our lift, and even taught my two boys some useful skills in his garage. he ensured that we were able to have a level rig while still having access for my husband's wheelchair! pretty much the nicest and most talented host one could ever ask for. his stories are unparalleled and if you are a do-it-yourselfer, you are sure too enjoy his property and friendship. thanks for dinner! :)

has a little bit of everything in his backyard and side yard. All the vehicles, equipment, gear, large tools, materials and miscellany are there for your stay. Henry is an engaging man, a pleasure to converse with about his many projects - past, present and future - and simply a wonder when you learn all he does, not only for himself but for his neighbors and friends, even strangers who call him on referral from another. He can help you, also, if you need mechanical or technical assistance, including digging a travel trailer out of a ditch when the driver (not me) cut the corner too close. osHis home is close enough to use as a base station for exploring Ottawa and its surrounds. DO spend time at Parliament Square, and Parliament Hill. DO watch the Marching to Music event at 9:45am in Parliament Square. (Alas, the Changing of the Guard ceremony has been discontinued.)

Our stay at Henry’s was our first ever BW experience. What a pleasure it was to meet and stay with him. We got ourselves into a bit of trouble with our trailer (newbie mistake) and Henry bailed us out of the jam. Everything we needed including a green space for the dog!Really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again if we travel near Ottawa. Highly recommended
