We have been fortunate to meet many wonderful hosts on our travels and would really like to reciprocate. Unfortunately we live in a small condo with limited parking space. We can, however, host a small Class B up to 22’ long in a visitors parking spot. There are no amenities available but we can offer you wifi. We are happy to share our lakefront verandah with you for a cool afternoon drink. In the summer our pool is a welcome chance to swim, or if you prefer, the lake is clean fresh water. If your rig is larger, there is a nice rural Casino nearby or a Walmart, both about 5 miles away. We could arrange to pick you up and bring you to town. We do travel extensively but are often available during the summer months. Suggested Local Attractions:Orillia is a rare gem - fronting on both Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe - situated in the heart of Lake Country. This town of 30,000 people is full of historic buildings, an old main street of small shops and restaurants, a major marina at the downtown port that hosts a different festival every weekend during summer and is right on the TransCanada Trail offering miles of paved waking/biking trails.

House Rules

Because your Class B would be parked in our visitors parking lot we cannot allow any generators, awnings, pets, chairs, etc. One night would be the maximum we could host a visitor.

Location

Access Road Conditions: We are a paved parking lot with a wide entrance from a major city street. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: We have only a few regulation sized parking spots for visitors. Therefore, we can only host a Class B up to 22’ (such as a Mercedes Sprinter). However, if your rig is larger there is a casino 5 miles away with lots of free parking or a Walmart 6 miles away. We would be happy to pick you up so you can visit with us on our lakefront veranda.

We left home in our 2017 Pleasure-Way Plateau XL MB late August for an 8 month adventure from Ontario, across Canada, down the west coast of USA and into Baja California for the winter. Details: Early retirement has given us the opportunity to do what we love - wander around the country with no destination, no schedule and no time constraints. What more could we ask for? We've been boondocking, stealth camping and staying in provincial or state parks while trying to avoid the big RV Resorts for seceral winters. Some of our travels take us overseas and then we backpack to youth hostels or find homes on couchsurfing.org. We have hosted many couchsurfing travellers at our lakefront home and have found them all to be interesting and entertaining. Recently we have discovered we can combine travel in our Pleasure-Way and housesitting for a few weeks every once in a while. People of like minds usually get along well and we certainly found that Boondocking Hosts are open-minded and fun. We look forward to meeting many more of you on our future travels. Home Town: With a population of 30,000, Orillia is just an hour and a half north of Toronto, Ontario. Close enough to benefit from all that this world class city has to offer, but far enough away to be a quaint, rural town in the heart of Lake Country. We'd like to host campers but we live in a condo that makes it a bit of a challenge. We can accommodate a Class B in our parking lot, without hookups. However, in four miles there is a casino with a great treed parking area and a Walmart in town. We’d be happy to pick you up so you can spend some time with us at our lakeside condo. Favorite Boondocking Locations: With a Mitsubishi 4WD poptop camper we bought we found some great boondocking spots in Australia. The WMA areas and Equestrian Parks in central Florida have been good for us in the winter months. BLM lands in the Southwest are nice and quiet with lots of hiking possibilities. The best so far has been boondocking on the arroyos and at beach palapas in Baja Mexico. Skills or Expertise to Share: We are always ready to plan a pot luck get-together for fellow travellers.

I enjoyed staying in Orillia. The accommodations are lovely, right on the lake, and Trekkers are incredibly gracious. A very interesting and fun couple, who love travel and are great conversationalists. I hope we meet again! I highly recommend.
