Nice gravel drive under a big shade tree. We arrived in the evening and JLC met us, pointed us to the side driveway and offered power. We had a restful night and enjoyed the serenaded in the morning by the neighbor's chickens 🐔 I wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
Host greeted us when we arrived, made us feel immediately at home. Parked our 28ft travel trailer in their level gravel driveway. Nicely shaded with cool breezes at night. Very close to all Reno activities. Parked our tow vehicle in front of trailer on street. Hosts gave us our space literally and figuratively. Wild horses roaming nearby in neighborhood. Gorgeous! 1st BDW experience...will be hard to top!
We loved staying at this spot! Easy parking in the shade and just a short drive to the Reno/Sparks area. It was great getting to know our hosts and bit and we did a little beer swap toward the end of our visit. Thanks so much for hosting us! We hope to stay again if we're in the area.
We enjoyed the safe quiet peaceful place to spend the night. Sound of the roosters next door was soothing. Very gracious host even 30 amp electric was very unexpected and appreciated greatly summer is a little toasty even up on the mountain. We would gladly stay here again when in the area
This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome and we weren't to sure what to expect. It was an excellent experience and we look forward to future bookings. Hosts were excellent making us feel right at home. Great location for our trip in a very nice country charmed neighborhood. We can't thank them enough for their hospitality.
The Caufield's were great hosts, their location and the site for camping on their property was very comfortable and accommodating.
The hosts were very nice, adjusted to my travel schedule, and made me feel welcome. They have chickens and gave me a dozen yummy eggs.
We had scheduled 2 night with JLC, but due to several issues with our rig, we didn't make it there until our 2nd scheduled day. Both were kind and provided us with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We so appreciate these hosts and their willingness to let us stay on their property. Lots of shade and they even have a 30 amp plug-in. This spot is within 1 hour of Lake Tahoe and just 30 minutes from Virginia city. Great spot! Great hosts! We will definitely try to book this spot in the future if we are in the area again.
We are so thankful to our hosts for allowing us to stay. We even requested to come in a day early and they were super accommodating. The spot we parked our motorhome had a nice amount of shade and they even allowed us to hook up to power to allow our refrigerator to stay cool. That was extremely important as we were having 100° temperatures. We did not have much time to visit due to our schedule but we feel grateful for the safe and quiet place to lay your heads at night.
Very nice hosts.
Had enoigh room for the 40ft and it was very quiet.
I needed a place to stay for an appointment in Reno and was worried about the heatwave as forecast which was unusual for so early in Spring. JLC provided power to my A/C as well as a shady area. I will forever be grateful to them for helping me out this way!
Wonderful hosts and a beautiful location, with grouse and wild horses. My hosts gave me power and excellent WiFi.
I highly recommend the hosts.
The lovely yard, country living atmosphere, gorgeous mountain views and quiet neighborhood was very much enjoyed!! We took our dog on lovely walks.
Close to Lake Tahoe (great day trip), Carson City, Virginia City (over a mountain pass) and of course Reno.
Lots to see & do!
The hosts were gracious with offering us electric, which made our stay even nicer! Would definitely stay again if in the area!
Peaceful community, nice people, great views, centrally located. We took day trips to Virginia City and Truckee.
My husband and I were scrambling for a place to stay after we found out the campsite we were planning on staying was closed, after a very long day of driving. I messaged the host and almost instantly received a friendly message back that I was welcome to stay. The property is in a lovely, well-kept neighborhood in Reno with a spectacular view of the mountains. I’d happily stay here again next time I’m passing through Reno!
We are very grateful they let us use the electricity. The area is very quiet, looks like everybody in that neighborhood have a big dogs .
Jim is very personable and helped us get set up quickly. He also gave us good info about roads on the way to our next stop. The property is lovely and has a great view of the mountains.
This is our first stay using BW. JLC were great host, very enjoyable and helpful. Awesome views of the mountains. Quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of town. The parking spot on the side of the house, and is nice and level. Gave us 110 power. Their Neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. Great area to walk our dogs. Received a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. We will definitely be back. Thank you JLC
This is our second stay with JLC. We were having RV issues and ended up getting the rig back at the end of the day. We had no reservations locally for that night and contacted JLC via Boondockers. They replied almost immediately. They are kind and generous folks and their hospitality is greatly appreciated. A plus: their neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous! We will definitely be back.
Neighborhood is on the edge of beautiful open space and lovely views all around. Quiet and serene. Enjoyed chatting and meeting a couple of their sweet dogs. Very accommodating. Thanks!
We had a quick overnight stay. The host briefly greeted us & then gave us our privacy to set up for the night. The neighborhood felt very safe & peaceful.
Great views of the mountains. Hosts helped us get set up. Let us use 30 amp hookup
For those wanting a safe, quiet and really cool neighborhood to stay in, definitely recommend.
A generous couple with a level driveway. Thank you for the power as well!
Thanks Jim. I looked to see if it was possible to say goodbye in person, but I didn’t see any lights on! We left around 7:45, and are now in Bishop.
Our family enjoyed our time in Reno with JLC. The host greeted us and offered to us hook ups and anything else we might need. Friendly dogs at the gate gave my daughter a big smile. Would love to stay again and explore the Reno/Tahoe area!
Unfortunately, our hosts we informed a few days prior to our arrival that they had been exposed to Covid, and therefore had to quarentine for 14 days! They told us we were still welcome stay on their property, but we were unable to meet them and chat like we usually do with our hosts. It is a great spot not far from Reno, but far enough away that we got to see wild horses casually stroll down the street in front of our RV on morning!
With this being our first time using Boondockers we can only hope that all future stays with Boondockers will be this pleasant.
The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Neighborhood very quiet and peaceful. We would enjoy coming back again.
I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay. Very quiet neighborhood.
We came in right at sunset, after a long travel day, and so grateful for a kind welcome, easy back-in driveway, with electrical hookup for a pleasant night’s sleep. Hope to stay again and get to know these sweet hosts. Thank you, JLC! 😁
Always a wonderful stay! Thanks again😊 Hope you all enjoyed the fresh sourdough loaf from us! Safe travels out there.
Nice quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of town. The parking spot on the side of the house is nice and level. we appreciated the electrical hook up since it was rather hot out during our stay. Lake Tahoe was about an hours drive away. Our host was very accommodating and provided lots of tips for things to do in the area.
JLC was there to greet and show us where to park when we arrived. Enjoyed visiting. They offered for us to join them in the backyard at 5:30 for some more visiting, but we opted to drive to Lake Tahoe since we'd never been there. He gave us helpful directions and we got to see an amazing part of creation. Worth the 45 minute drive! They sent us off in the morning with a dozen fresh eggs. Would love to come back again and visit more.
easy access, great level parking area, neighborhood to walk dogs. Hosts were warm and welcoming. Would definately stay again.
Coved-19 prevented us from visiting much, but we were able to converse a little while as the host was working on his beautiful A-class RV putting in a wooden floor. Parking space is in the front of their property on the side, and is flat. Electric 15 amp hookup is approximately 20-30 feet from RV.
Friendly dogs behind fence greet you upon your arrival in a very quiet neighborhood. Large shopping centers close by that will be totally available after coved-19. Very friendly hosts, and I fully recommend “Caufield’s on Romona” if you need a safe and quiet place to stay when you are in this area.
Great hospitality from very nice couple. Quiet, clean and ez access. Thanks for the 110v!
We needed a place to stop in Reno for a few days. JLC were kind enough to let us use their level parking spot, electricity, and water. I must say, the neighborhood and views were amazing! We wish we could have visited more with JLC but, with social distancing in place, had to settle for talking across the yard at a safe distance. We would definitely stay again.
JLC are the best around! Due to social distancing, we didn't get to spend much time together, however what time we did chat was wonderful! This location can't be beat! Off the beaten path south of Reno, very quiet, very peaceful and oh so beautiful! Yes, we'll be back! :)
My primary reason to visit Reno, NV was to have my AIMS Solar Inverter repaired.
To find such a wonderful Hosts who allowed me to visit their beautiful location
while waiting on my Inverter was a HUGE bonus. They even allowed me to install it.
We kept our Social Distance but I did enjoy visiting w them & their beautiful dogs.
From my bedroom window I was able to view the gorgeous snow covered mountains.
The JLC Hosts & their well behaved dogs take a daily walk around their neighborhood streets. I also walked a few times myself along w many of the neighbors.
Also, it seemed like a daily occurrence to see some beautiful neighboring horses being walked &/or ridden around the block.
The Hosts also gave me a delicious home made loaf of banana nut bread.
Yes! I would enjoy returning here again during "normal times".
Thank you both J & L, I very much appreciated visiting you!
These are very difficult times for everybody and they where willing to let me come and stay on their property..This was my first time using my camper and Boondockers. It was a wonderful experience and I learned a lot. They are very nice people and I would love to come back to their place and stay again.
JLC were most welcoming hosts, who offered helpful travel advice about the region. We enjoyed the vista of the Sierras from their lovely property, located on the outskirts of Reno
Thanks from gónetroppo
JLC were welcoming, friendly, accommodating, generous and just plain good folks. We were treated to meeting their 12 week old puppy Brody and enjoy his "puppy wiggles" and his sibs. Finnegan had a great yard to run around in and chickens to harass. :-( Our evenings began with wine on the deck and segued into wonderful conversation. We won't forget this stay and hope to meet JLC again. We know we won't forget them. Our next visit will be with a batch of doggie toys.
Very nice hosts. Very nice nieghbor. I totally enjoyed my stay here.
We had a great stay with JLC. They are the consummate hosts. Welcomed us and invited us to join them for cocktail hour. Gave us greatr advice not only on the area but for future stops on our trip. Enjoyed visiting with two of their bright and inquisitive grandchildren. Sent us off with a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. Thanks again JLC.
Wish I could rate it higher than just positive. They are a wonderful and generous couple. The site is wonderful and in a nice location. Drinks and conversation in the evening were fantastic. Thank you so much!
One of our best experiences yet. Such a lovely couple and so inviting and open. We sat talking for ours and they even provided a cold beverage. Happy to have stayed here and would stay again.
Mitch and Kim
Beautiful yard and peaceful stay very special Golden Retriever Luna. Thank you for the hospitality.
This was our first Boondocker stay and we weren't quite sure what to expect. It was just what we had hoped for. It was a beautiful location, wonderful hosts, flat spot to park, friendly dogs, trampoline for the kid to get energy out, close to Reno, Tahoe and easy access to Bay area. We would highly recommend this location if in the Reno area. Thanks JLC.
Another awesome Boondockers Welcome stop. A great space to stay in and two of the most welcoming hosts! We had happy hour in Jim and Linda’s beautiful backyard and shared stories and favorite places to stay. We will definitely stay again when our travels take us through Reno. Thanks for the eggs!!
Our hosts were very nice, helpful, and hospitable. Great property on the outskirts of town but close to everything! Thanks again for hosting us!
Was just the pit stop our family needed after a few hectic weeks of being on the road. Hosts were very generous with their location. Had a great dinner with them. Would def stop in again!
Thanks for the quick swing through and place to park our rig!
JLC was more that welcoming when I arrived and helpful. They have a nice place and I enjoyed the time I spent with them. It was a bit breezy, though :)
Stayed with this host for one night in February 2019. We originally planned for 2 nights, but left early to be able to drive over the mountain passes on highway I 80 towards Sacramento before another winter storm arrived. We enjoyed meeting the host and staying at their beautiful and convenient location.
JLC were both very kind and accommodating, our heating unit doesn't work very well and its getting cold, so they let us borrow one of their to see how we liked it and it worked great. What an awesome couole. Oh, and the view from their property is gorgeous! Highly recomended.
Hosts were great people. I appreciate their understanding with my confusion in booking. They have a lovely home in a nice quiet area. Reno was colder than I thought so the hookup was a much appreciated.
Enjoyed our stay, we had such welcoming hosts who made us feel very comfortable and welcome. They had a great shady spot for our 29ft, 2 cute dogs, and some chickens too! Close to Reno, and other scenic adventures. Glad we made the stop and would stay again!
This was our second stay here. Our hosts are kind people. We were able to use electric which was much appreciated. Great place to stay!
Welcoming and kindly hosts, 2 funny, friendly and entertaining dogs. Learned about the local area and resident wildlife while visiting with JLC in their amazing back yard. Thank you for sharing your time and space with us!
We enjoyed our stay here. We were parked in a nice shady gravel area. We were able to find the house easily and we had plenty of room to back in to our stall. Our hosts were very nice and we greatly appreciate being able to stay here overnight.
Thank you for a great stay! We enjoyed Reno and Lake Tahoe. Jim and Linda are very kind and great hosts
We are pleased that we were able to make Caulfields on Ramona go fully international with our stay :) Thank you Jim & Linda for a really fun stay with a lovely view and good parking & facilities.
Jim and Linda were great host!! We couldn’t find anything as far as campgrounds/rv parks to stay at, with very short notice they allowed us to come on over:)
We are so thankful for them and allowing us to stay, great little spot under trees for shade & close to Reno/Tahoe.
