Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostSmall home, BIG yard. Acres and acres nearby to walk. About 3/4 mile to the Heartland trail. The paved Fred Meijer Heartland Trail rolls for 42 miles through farmland and forests in central Michigan as it links a half-dozen rural towns with recreational opportunities.
Park your RV to the side of our driveway where it is flat and gravel covered. For the more adventurous, pull around back (drive over the front lawn) and park anywhere (near the trees, fire pot, anywhere). Lots of room to turn around!
You can run a long hose from the house to fill up your freshwater. We can run an extension cord out to your RV for a little electricity (sorry only 15 amp). Pick up your trash and any doggy droppings please. Smoke only in or near your RV and no butts on the ground. WIFI available, area has good cellphone coverage for most companies (Sprint is a little weak).
Access road is a dirt road, be prepaird to back long rigs up the 150' driveway. Shorter rigs can probably turn around ok.
Stay hooked up, or just park in front of your RV
Great Lakes Adventist Academy, Michigan Adventist Campground, and Cedar Lake's very own Two-Story Outhouse. LIKE TO BIKE? Our home is less than a mile from a 125-mile rails-to-trails loop system known as Fred Meijer Mid-Michigan Trail Network of interconnected non-motorized trails that comprise the fifth-largest continuous rail trail in the nation. This loop is beautifully rural but does pass through several small cities and villages such as Alma, Ithaca, St Johns, Ionia, Lowell, Greenville, and Edmore allowing for breaks along the way. The trail is asphalt covered most of the way and is still being improved. For more trail information visit: https://www.mitrails.org
This was a very lovely rural area of mid-Michigan within 3/4 mile of the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail - paved 40+ mile rail trail. I enjoyed talking with the hosts and sleeping under the dark sky and absolute quiet found at their home. My dog appreciated the open fields/woods to run and sniff without worry of traffic. This area is interesting and perfect if you want to cycle/walk the Heartland Trail - mid-point at Edmore just down the road. Not far from Alma or Greenville if you need to shop - I highly recommend a stop along the trail at Riverdale. I hope to be back again!!
Such good people. I didn't want to leave. I wish I could have met the whole family! It would have been so great to chat over a campfire about awesome camping experiences, great recipes, Alaska, the National Parks, etc. but the weather turned too cold for that. I was warm in the camper, however. I will definitely go back; it was a lovely stay. These are the kind of people you miss and want to see again sometime.
We enjoyed our conversations with Todd-n-Lynette. Our spot was nearly level. With our 34 foot motor home we drove up the driveway and then turned around, with just enough room. A nice, considerate family!
Can't wait to get back to the nicest people in this cute little community. Great food. Great conversation and felt at home there.
This was our first BW stay so we didn't know what to expect or do. Todd wrote back very quickly after my stay request and let me know what to do, where to go, and how to pull/back in. He also responded to my other questions right away.
Upon arriving, they welcomed us, chatted for a while, then offered for us to walk around their property and enjoy the sights. They have a BEAUTIFUL property in the midst of farm fields, which was extremely quiet and peaceful.
We rode the Heartland Trail the next day, had a wonderful time seeing the local attractions and history. After returning, we had an evening discussion with Todd & Lynette that we thoroughly enjoyed. We learned a lot from their suggestions and experiences, and will definitely remember them and our stay.
One of their suggestions was for us to visit a local restaurant called "Daniel's Kitchen". We are VERY happy we did, as the food was delicious, healthy, and the mission of the restaurant heartfelt and outstanding!
The hosts offered us hookups if we needed them, and even though we didn't, we are thoroughly grateful for the offer.
We highly suggest staying with this host family, we will definitely return when we are in the area. :-)
Thank you Todd & Lynette for your hospitality! :-)

Wonderful hosts in beautiful setting!
Thanks for the plug in and warm hospitality.
We enjoyed our stay, very nice family. Doing God’s work in a deserving Acadamy.
Thanks so much for allowing us to use your driveway while passing through. We literally did not see a single soul while at your place. We were asleep by 10, and slept in till 9. In the middle of our 10 day excursion through beautiful Michigan, the rest is exactly what we needed. We loved visiting with your kitty who was a proud guard cat, once she checked out our truck camper, we felt like she was protecting us through the night. Our peaceful property is open to you any time... hope your vacation to Colorado was as good as ours.
Even though we only stayed one night, we had a nice stay at this pretty spot and enjoyed some nice conversations with the hosts. They were super friendly and helpful! Thanks for a great stay.
The only shortcoming is that their cat didn't like me as much as I liked her! Otherwise, Todd and Lynette were such gracious hosts, and they've raised some great kids, too. We talked and talked and I've rarely so enjoyed the company of super-fine people.
Lovely piece of property with plenty Of parking options. Todd n Lynette were delightful hosts. This property is far away from everything. Nice place to get some work done!
