We are located on top of a hill with very nice views. Guests are welcome to enjoy our front porch overlooking the southern valley. We have 30amp electric if needed. We travel a lot and understand if you just need quiet time to unwind. If you are social, and we are available, we are also open to joining you for conversations on the porch.
no loud music
4 miles from hwy 122 and 460. 1 mile on gravel road sometimes pot holes depending on recent weather. Property at top of hill with steep driveway.
Max length for Class A 38 foot
Able to park in front of RV or next to rig on secondary gravel driveway.
We travel a lot and sometimes forget to block availability but we try to respond quickly to requests.
Just over four miles from the D-Day Memorial.
About a 20 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Peaks of Otter.
This is an amazing spot to stop after a long day traveling the Blue Ridge Mountain region. Plenty of land to walk our dog for exercise. The porch was a place to relax and have great conversations with wonderful our hosts.
We are thrilled to be aquatinted with BoonDockers and with Dayna and John! They have sold us on using BoonDockers!!! Their site was remarkable and their hospitality exquisite!! Hot coffee waiting for us before we traveled south in the morning! What a treat in the pouring rain! Our biggest regret is not spending more time with our hosts on their breathtaking wrap around porch! Our travel bug matched theirs and we are sure we will meet again!
Our host's where great we had to look for something last minute and they were very accommodating.
We were helped into our spot by being guided. We were allowed to fill our water tank due to having empty tank from winterization. 30 Amp power hook up was a bonus.
We were, even provided some yummy cookies as well. After that we didn't see each other, so a big thank you to two very accommodating boondockers.
The sunrise on a cool crisp fall morning from their hillside vantage point was spectacular, a true gem.
The Geo Tribe.
Very nice visit. We will go back in a heartbeat when the weather is warmer to enjoy their porch. Some excellent hiking trails nearby
Our hosts were most gracious and their spot is perfect, especially given the warmer weather we are currently experiencing. We were allowed a 30 amp hook up and water. We spent time talking with our hosts on their great front porch that has a great view of the surrounding area. The cool evening breeze was a nice finish to the warm day. A bit off the beaten path is Tirado Trails Farm, but well worth the stop.
I could not have expected anything better from our first boondocking experience . We felt welcomed and treated like family . John helped us get set up (full hookups) . My dog was incredibly happy which makes us happy . Not to mention the breathtaking view , and the fire flies at night are things I will never forget . Thank you guys so much .
Without good phone connection on the blue ridge parkway we found these boondockers at the last minute. They welcomed us anyway to stay! They welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed.
We had a lovely quiet night and got to hang out on their porch in the morning while it was raining and enjoy their lovely view.
We visited with them when they were back, and our toddler was very happy to meet their animals!
Thank you for the warm welcome and all the best for your travel plans!!!!
we sadly weren't able to complete our stay, but the hosts were incredibly thoughtful and courteous -- we really wanted to spend time!
Tirado Farm was again wonderful! I finally got a chance to visit with my host and hostess and that was great! They are looking forward to boondocking more too! If your rig is the right size, I highly recommend this stop!
Happy Holidays to all,
We stayed only a short night, but the warm welcome and the Beauty of the place stayed with us. Warmly recommanded!
Tirado Trails Farm is absolutely beautiful, even in the gloom of early December. The hosts were very friendly and the spot was perfect, and level and sooooo utterly quiet! What a change from the Prince William Forest RV Park I came there from. That was right on a super busy highway just south of DC. I would really love to go there and stare at those amazing mountains across from them in the fall someday. Thank you so much for a wonderful 1st boondocking experience. Wish I had a place to return the favor, but home is where I park these days! Happy Holidays to Tirado Trails Fam!
Very generous and friendly. Quick to communicate. 2 thumbs up!
Our hosts could not have been better hosts! Great people!
Site is beautiful and they hooked us up with power and water. Access required a multi point back up for our 21 foot trailer, longer than 25 would be difficult. Good location for the Booker T Washington Park and the Bedford D-day memorial. Dump station at the Bedford welcome center, $10.
Our stay at Tirado Trails Farm was very short but very sweet. The hosts welcomed us on short notice, and were so accommodating. Thank you so much for a lovely visit! Overall, the experience was excellent!
We spent one night at tirade trails and it was perfect. Just in time for a walk through the woods and for a brilliant sunset. We ate on the porch of the house and enjoyed our breakfast there, too. Dayna welcomed us and gave us a rundown on the area which we hope to return to next spring. The Otter hikes look fantastic, so we need to return with a bit more time. Check out Smith mountain lake for water sports...it’s not far away. The farm has two cute Alpacas! Quiet sleep with a view. What more can you ask for? Many thanks Dayna for the electric and water, too. By the way, the Bedford visitor center has an rv dump 😀😀 Also, the blue ridge parkway is nearby. See you in 2019!! Colleen and Werner
My goodness what a view these people have. And as friendly and accommodating as anyone could be. I hope I will have the opportunity to stay here again.
John and Dayna were great hosts. We came last minute and they were quick to communicate and direct us to their home. We had no problem navigating the gravel road that led to their beautiful hilltop home. We parked in front of their garage and plugged right into 30 amp power! It was a perfect stop. We hope to reciprocate one day. Grateful!!!
