We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Our hosts were very welcoming and generous and made us feel like family. We look forward to future visits and would recommend them to anybody. Thanks again, Cdmjfm07!
Our hosts at Smallville Quietude were amazing! We immediately hit it off like we were long time friends catching up. Shortly before arriving our roof vent fan starting leaking. They provided a ladder and the correct sealant for me to fix my leak. They invited us into their home and we had a pizza and beverage night. We talked for hours about traveling, RVing and life in general. They are some of the friendliest and generous people we've ever met and would love to see them again.
The hosts were so kind to allow us to stay when they were not home! They told us about the awesome local fair going on, which was perfect since the it was not lake weather like we had originally hoped. When they arrived they were so kind to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. They went above and beyond by helping us make some needed repairs to our trailer, and gifting us some fresh produce from their garden! They live in a nice quiet neighborhood convenient to Spencer. Icing on the cake was our kids getting to play with their adorable kittens. We would definitely stay again!
What can I say? From the time I arrived until the time I left, these hosts were attentive to every possible need of a guest. The evening was enchanting. Swapping travel stories, cooking a meal together, and sitting down to dinner together. Wow!!! A memorable experience for sure. It was like we knew each other for a long time. Great communication right from the outset. I do hope that our paths shall cross again.
J... and C... are incredibly generous and helpful folks. We enjoyed a very fruitful stay with them, learned a lot more about their plans for the future. Two authenticate folks who represent the Heartland of the USA. Although their location is out of the way in rural Iowa, you will find their stories insightful and funny, and their interest in RVing second to none. This is our third trip and we try to return each year when we can go through the Heartland.
My first request did not seem to go through and so I canceled it. I then heard from Smallville quietude and we were able to work out going. What a wonderful experience! Both of them let us as we came in and we got to spend I'm talking about our share travels and where we are each going next. We both slept so well in the quiet and appreciated the soft water. Cadbury, the cat worked out his relationship with their cats and was eager to go out in the morning and sit in the sun. We hope at some point to be able to come back through and stay longer and visit with these wonderful people! And guys, I hope you enjoy Ashfall Fossil Park.
We previously stayed with John and Cheryl earlier in the year. They really impressed us. We were on our way back south to Texas again and felt the need to catch up with them on their activities. John helped us with a number of maintenance issues with our travel trailer, including identifying a propane gas leak that could have been very dangerous for us. We have learned to call them friends. They are generous folks.
Cheryl and John are two exceptionally generous folks who are very committed to RVing. They have owned a number of rigs and have spent a great deal of time camping and boondocking on weekends and long holidays. Although they have not yet reached an age they can retire, they look forward to that day coming.
We spent a very enjoyable evening exchanging stories of where we had camped and sites we have seen. John volunteered to add some grease to my sway bar and weight distribution hitch, which were squeaking and squawking.. We were able to talk extensively about inverters and deep cycle batteries.
Terrific couple…we shall come by again later in the year when we come back this way. We highly recommend you meet these two folks.
