Historical section of Milton Fl.
Do not drive on the grass.
No smoking on property
No running generators after 10pm
Sharp turn into driveway and then left behind house. Stay on gravel drive. Please scout location before pulling in. We have a shared driveway so do not block drive.
Plenty of room to park your toad. Please do not park on the grass, you will get stuck.
Most times we are away but can still accommodate you.
Downtown and the river walk only blocks away. Blackwater river downtown has much activity during the summer. Beaches are 15 miles south.
We appreciated the place to stay for the night. The location was nice, close to state trail for morning walk. The street is a bit busy but we were able to get in and out with no problem.
We stayed 3 nights at Memaw’s house and took day trips to explore Gulf Shores, Pensacola and Destin.
You will need to back into the driveway off of a residential street. My husband backed our 30 foot travel trailer with no problem, however it’s a narrow drive with only one way in & one way out.
The River Walk is only .3 miles away, so it was a nice morning stroll and the Veterans Memorial Plaza next to it is impressive!
50 amp electricity available and great communication with host. We’d definitely stay here again. Wonderful location!!
Jerry was great and was very gracious. Memaw's home is very close to the Blackwater State Trail and I had a great time riding my bike on the trail. Several good restaurants are close by as well as grocery stores, etc. It is a perfect location close to downtown Milton and close to Interstate 10.
You will love this location. Plenty of room in the backyard but do NOT try to go off the driveway. A beautiful back yard but very soft soil due to lots of rain and you would get stuck quickly if you try to turn around in the back yard. Take the time to back in and it will be excellent for you. Good 50 amp power but you need water in your tanks since the water is cut off to the house. Like Jerry says....get out and go scout out the back yard before you position your camper.
While we did not get to meet with Jerry as he was gone for our visit, we we in daily contact with him as we stayed four days. He was friendly and warm and his place is easy to find with easy access to stores and restaurants and the interstate. We spent most of the time at Navarre Beach (east of Pensacola)which is a really sweet barrier island. The town of Milton hosted fireworks down by the river on July 4th. We look forward to staying again in the future
Thank you for being so accommodating.
Nice small town, private area and electric sure is nice when in Florida!
If you will have us, we would love to stay again.
We had a nice quiet stay at Memaw's. The location was clean, spacious for our small camper, and easy to find. The little town of Milton has a great history and is preserving the past very well. Pretty old homes. The Blackwater River Riverwalk in the old downtown area is beautiful and relaxing. We had dinner Friday night at the Boomerang Pizza Kitchen. Warm atmosphere in the old downtown shopping district, good pizza, and a little wait for a table on a Friday night. Saturday evening we had dinner at the Blackwater Bistro. Great food, nice old home restoration, and a live band was easy to listen to and still be able to talk with friends. There was a little wait for a table here also.
We will definitely stop at Memaw's again if we get the opportunity!
Thank you very much for a wonderful place for us to stop by last night.
Thank you also, for not requiring a day's notice, as that meant everything to us!!
Your place is perfect, close to everything, the area lovely, and YOU have been extremely accomodating!!
We'd love to return! And we most certainly highly recommend you!!
Thank you again!
Milton is a beautiful old town with plenty of modern touches alongside of the historical places and Memaw’s was a Great place to stay especially with the 50amp electric option❣️Thank you for your kind hospitality❣️
Perfect little hideaway in an adorable town . Stay off the grass and you are all good. Host made it “nice and easy” ! Seamless. Thank You
Host was great! He allowed me to stay even though he was away. His spot is right off a main route and a half block from a nice paved bike path. Several options for grocery nearby and a laundry mat a little over a mile away. Drive is best suited for smaller rigs. Road traffic was a little noisy but got pretty quiet after dark.
This host was kind, contacted me quickly, the spot is very nice and it's in historic Milton. It had 50 amp power but you need a very long cord to plug into it and do not stray off of the driveway the grass is soft. A+ host. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
