We have a house in the Bitterroot Valley on Highway 93 near Stevensville Montana. There is a trout stream and pond in our backyard. We have 15 reasonably open acres and a place to plug in a 30 amp. Well-behaved dogs could go off leash. There is also a bike trail across the road that goes 25 miles in each direction. You can ride all the way to Missoula to the north or Hamilton to the south.
Treat our place like you would treat your own. We have two chihuahuas and would like dogs to be accepting of these small friendly dogs. Delilah likes to visit your RV and see if anyone will pay attention to her and give her a snack.
No access issues
15 acre property. Parking is no issue.
Unavailable during the time we spend back home in Texas.
Fly fishing on multiple local creeks and rivers such as the Bitterroot. Lots of historical sites. Go north to Glacier national park or east to Yellowstone when you leave. There are lots of hiking trails and local shopping. St. Mary's Mission in Stevensville has a particularly interesting history. And there is an abundance of micro-breweries.
The Bitteroot Valley was filled with smoke but the site was excellent. Hope to return someday to see the beauties there when the smoke has left.
Lovely spot, close to biking trail and fishing. Host very kind and accommodating. Electric and water!
This was our first BDW stay. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer. Looking forward to returning so that we can go fly fishing again.
Delilah and Brewster were great company for Boney.
Enjoyed visiting with our hosts. They had a nice level spot just off the highway. Close enough that we got laundry and grocery shopping done. The only negative is I think it’s going to cost me a lot of money as they let us try their new electric bikes and we love them. LOL.
We really needed a break. We had just replaced a water heater, and then the toilet that was 4 months old broke. Thanks to our wonderful host for helping make that repair with a trip to the local hardware store and a socket size I didn't have. Our hosts also had plenty of room for our dogs to run and play with their dog, and a list if local things to do. Thanks for a wonderful stay during a trying time for us!
If you are fortunate enough to be able to stay here you will find beautiful views and super hosts. We’re on our way from the Oregon coast back to North Carolina and we’ve had the pleasure of several boondocking experiences. This is definitely one of our favorites. It’s easy to find with great access and a level site with amenities to boot. Thanks to our hosts for a great place to stay.
This was a terrific spot and the hosts were very nice and helpful. I even went fly fishing with them in a nearby spot, nice!
GoRice are the perfect hosts. They had a table & chairs set up and a cute little welcome sign. They were right there to show us everything. Very nice folks. Gave us information about things to do in the area. I made a charcuterie tray and we had lunch on their upper balcony and the views were absolutely stunning. GPS took me straight to their place. Easy access for the biggest of rigs. Very level gravel spot with water and electric. We drove 2000 miles just to meet our neighbors lol. They are from a little town in Texas about 20 miles from us! Small world. Hope to see them again next time we are up here. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us. Blessings, John & Brenda
Our stay here was AMAZING! I wish we had planned on staying longer. Will most definitely stay longer next time. You park next to the barn (with electricity and water) and look out on this beautiful field and mountains in both directions. Ben and Kay are the most gracious hosts. They greeted us on our arrival and gave us an article on the local history and attractions. Right on the road is a wonderful bike path that you can ride for miles on. We especially enjoyed sitting out with Ben and sipping wine and getting to know him. Their dog Delilah is the biggest sweetheart ever. We will definitely miss her. We left with fresh lettuce from their garden and Ben even got Don a can of the local beer since he was disappointed at missing the local brewery. Thank you both again so much.
This spot is so peaceful and beautiful. The hosts are great and very welcoming and accommodating. We have a 43 ft and easily made the pull around drive to the parking spot. Our kids were able to play outside and with their friendly dog. We enjoyed the mountain views and the pond.
The hosts were kind enough to allow us to come back after going north and then coming back south. We got a good nights sleep before heading back out. Enjoyed the conversations!
5 Starts! We were so impressed with the effort GoRice put into this overnight spot. First they've made it really easy to park next to their garage, a true "pull through" with no backing up necessary. Then they went (in our opinion) above & beyond by laying & leveling a gravel area to park on. Even at RV Parks do we seldom find such a level spot, we didn't even need to unhook. And then they went even further & made it even more delightful by setting out a small table & a couple of chairs and a little RV welcome sign. To top it all off there is power right there & water if you need it. But really best of all was their kindness, wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. We felt so comfortable there & truly appreciate their hospitality. It still amazed us how people like GoRice go out of their way for total strangers.
First and foremost, we highly recommend this host.
We were supposed to stay in ID, but the campgrounds we were looking at either had no signal (for work) or they were full, so we kept driving north. By the time we had signal again, most campground offices were closed for the night. We sent the request late on the same day and were SUPER lucky they got the message in time and had space. The hosts were extremely friendly, invited the kids to run around the yard to burn off energy before bed. Their 2 dogs were also friendly, and our 14 yr old doxie even ran around like she was 10 years younger! We have a 41' 5th wheel and the area for parking was more than spacious, easy to level, and the power plug was greatly appreciated. I did get enough (ATT) signal on our Pepwave 4x4 MiMo to work in the morning before heading out, Verizon cell service was 1-2 bars depending on the time of day.
Again, highly recommended and will definitely look them up if/when we come through the area again.
We had a nice stay here. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. The dogs were adorable. The parking spot was private, flat and had hookups for electric and water. Would recommend!
We also checked out the Metcalf nature preserve in the area which was very nice and we saw lots of animals.
Our hosts were extremely kind and inviting. It's rare that you meet people who genuinely care about your wellbeing. It was a blessing to meet them. Thank you so much for your consideration.
Easy on and off of 93. Generous hosts with water and 30 amp service. Loved the little chihuahua mix (please bring treats 🐶)! We’ll be back!
We really enjoyed our stay. Great Place and wonderful hosts.
My husband enjoyed fly fishing right out back! And I enjoyed working on a puzzle.
Also did some sight seeing, not far from Missoula.
Loved my stay with this host! They were so very friendly and welcoming. Their directions were concise and easy to follow, and the spot was just gorgeous.
This was our first stay with Boondockers Welcome and it was exactly what we’d hoped for. Such a positive experience with great hosts. Thank you!
We had such a lovely stay that we extended it to 2 nights. The views are amazing. Hosts are interesting wonderful people and their dogs are as cute as can be.
So much to see and do in the area!
We hope to return!
Super nice host and very gracious. Beautiful property all the way round. Everything is as posted online and very much appreciated! Very easy access and parking and he met us as we got there and showed us where to park. We absolutely loved the area as well and the views are just as great. Thanks for such a great stay, would love to come back again when in the area.
While the hosts weren't home we were greeted with multiple emails and the gentleman living on the property. Great pull through site with gravel drive, water and power. Best part was the view of the mountains. Thank you for your hospitality, we will pay it forward.
Our hosts were wonderful people, we enjoyed taking with them. They’re so funny. The location was great. We enjoyed a walk around the property.
Beautiful sunrise and sunset right where we parked.
We definitely would like to come back again and highly recommend.
Thank you 😊
We stayed 2 nights at Bitterroot Heaven. Very nice stay. Easy to find. Convenient 30 amp power. We brought a full RV tank of water, so we did not need to avail ourselves of the water supply, but water is near site. Plenty of room for dogs to exercise.
Our hosts were not able to be there, so we really appreciate their allowing us to stay.
We hope to return sometime soon.
The hosts were not home, but provided excellent instructions on location and amenities. Their neighbor was expecting me and came by to make sure everything was OK and we had a great conversation. Very conveniently located. Wild turkeys strolled the property. Great views. A bit of traffic noise with the windows open, but closing windows muted that. Thanks for letting me stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Bitterroot Heaven. We have a 35’ 5th wheel and had no trouble at all getting in. The 30 amp plug on the wall and the water hydrant ahead of us were just what we needed. The local gentlemen that greeted us was very helpful and welcoming. The best part of our stay was waking up to the beauty that surrounded us. The river behind us and the mountains before us were spectacular! Thanks so much to our hosts for allowing us to share one night in this beauty!
Stayed 2 nights at this very convenient location, just off the main road thru the Bitterroot Valley. The "assistant host" was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Although I did get to meet the actual hosts, they were good communicators and super accommodating. Parking spot was great, it was level and had electric and water nearby. Saw many deer in the fields. All in all a very excellent stopover. THANK YOU!
Fell in love with the Bitterroot Valley and the Heaven of a spot. Everything was as it is advertised...except the peace by the lakes and small river were even better and more peaceful than expected. A great beautiful location with easy access
You owe it to yourself to be sure your travels lead you the Bitterroot Heaven and the valley.
Thank you very much
Great place. Gracious host and beautiful spot. Delila the Dog was as cute as could be.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay and boy did our hosts set the bar high!
From the directions to the setting to the hospitality and area recommendations, we had a wonderful stay and will for sure come back! Highly recommend ☺️
GORICE were very gracious and helpful. We would stay there again.. Nice quiet place.
Had a nice and peaceful stay at Bitterroot Heaven. Easy to find and leveled spot with full hook ups if needed. We hat a short but nice chat before I had to get back on the road. Thanks again for having me and hopefully till another time in the future.
What a wonderful place to stay! Super easy access with level site. 30 amp and water available. Our son loved going down to the pond to feed the ducks and watching the deer in the evenings. Couldn’t have asked for better host. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven. We will definitely be back!
Unfortunately Ben and Gorice were out of town but they were so kind to let us spend two nights at their property with power and water. The scenery is beautiful with mountains all around. Andrew, the other gentleman that lives on the property was great. We shared stories, he gave us wonderful suggestions for places to visit on our adventures and even hung out for dinner one night. Missoula is about 35 minutes away so I was able to do some much needed shopping at Target, the mall and other good stores that aren’t always available when traveling. They also have a great movie theater in Missoula that we enjoyed one day. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed being able to run free. We travel in a 43 foot motorhome and we got in and out with ease. Thank you for a lovely weekend in Montana!
Even though our host Was out of town they were gracious enough to allow us to stay, very nice spot with easy access to the state highway
What else could you ask for, a pond and stream to sit next to and look at the mountains at the rear and mountains across the street in front. Our host helped us set up, and then went fishing, tough life. This area has many hiking trails in the mountains that oculd keep you busy for weeks.
We cannot say enough good things about Bitterroot Heaven and would love to stay there again if we come through the area again.
Thanks again to our hosts,
Just what we needed, great location and amenities . We needed to catch up on personal business and to be able to spend that here , what a blessing.
Thank you very much.😀!
It was our first boondockers experience and it's an unforgettable one. We planned to stay 1 night and finally stayed 2. We had a delicious diner with B and his neighbour and really had fun together. We got the chance to fish in the backyard pond and our kids had a great time there. We hope we'll get the chance to see them again.
We highly recomend the Bitteroot Heaven!
Our two evening stay with Ben was like spending time with an old friend.
His ranch is quiet and beautiful with a stream and pond on the property. Electric and water accessibility was a plus.
Junking, dinner and a nearby distillery were nearby and his guidance was truly appreciated.
We would definitely return, especially during the month of June. ;-)
This was our first boondockers welcome and it was lovely to sit and chat with the owner and his friend, share stories and put the world to rights. They couldn't have done more to make us comfortable or to ensure we had a great time, inviting our kids to fish in the pond and for us to take some veg from his veg patch. This wasn't just an overnight stay, it was a fantastic American experience for our family. Thank you!
Ben is so kind, and the property is beautiful and peaceful! I wish our plans allowed us to stay longer, but we will definitely be back!
Such a beautiful place and a great host. Easy in and out with 30 amp power. Got to see mule deer. Would definitely stay here again.
I truly enjoyed my stay at Gorice and Ben’s property. They were called away due to a death in the family, but graciously allowed me to stay anyway. Andrew, who also lives on the property, came over to welcome me and share his knowledge of the area. Highly recommend to others!
We unfortunately didn't get to meet our hosts but did meet the person who lives on the property and he was super friendly.
Beautiful setting and just lovely place to spend a couple days. We saw some great sunsets and watched an awesome mountain thunderstorm roll in!
Close to Stevensville which we explored a bit. (The BBQ place downtown near the brewery is fantastic!)
Thank you. What an amazing place to be able to rest and explore the area. My dogs enjoyed the pond and my husband and I enjoyed the sense of piece and tranquility here. Enjoyed seeing the wildlife and the big guy next door was so nice, enjoyed him coming over to visit each day. Thank you so much!
They made sure we had what we needed and gave us the run of the place. Plenty of room to walk our dogs by the creek. Convenient location in the Bitterroot valley. Thanks so very much.
It was like being a member of the family or with an old friend. Thank you so much for the time we spent together. And also a special thanks to the great and big guy next door.
Bitterroot Heaven was a wonderful place to stay with great hosts.
Thanks so much for letting us stay at your wonderful site. Beautiful views, welcoming hosts and even a pond for our dog to swim in.
We were greeted when arrived and helped to get set up in the location. Easy access and nice place to explore the local communities and wildlife. We saw 5 deer on the evening of our arrival. The next day during a walk, we saw 8 wild turkeys. The hosts were very friendly and interesting to talk with. I hope we can stay again next year.
Enjoyed the view and the pond out back. So sorry we did not get to meet our hosts. Very quiet.
This was my first bdw experience, and these fine folks have now set the bar high for comparisons! Beautiful property with amazing views. It was a bit smokey, but it had rained and cleared some of it out. I was able to sit comfortably outside and enjoy the views of the bitterroot mountains across the street. There are tons of hiking trails all around the area. I chose to drive down and do the Blodgette Canyon trail in Hamilton, which was amazing. You can see the St Mary's peak from the RV spot and the road to get to it is directly across the highway. The property itself is fun just to hang out on as well. My dog had a blast running around and swimming in the pond and creek. The RV spot is a good location, but one thing to keep in mind is the water hookup is a bit of a distance. I only have a 25ft hose and it would not have been enough with theirs combined, so I just pulled up and filled my tank then pulled around and parked. I will definitely be back to the Bitteroot Heaven :-)
Great stay and our hosts were fabulous. This property is amazing and the whole experience was fantastic.
We had a wonderful and relaxing respite here on our journey back to South Carolina. This is a lovely property surrounded by mountains and rivers. There are also some quaint small communities with amenities nearby. We would highly recommend the fish and chips at the Hamilton House. Our warmest thanks to these hosts for sharing their beautiful property with us.
I loved staying here! After being a part of Boondockers Welcome for a few years, I had hosted, but never stayed with anyone. This was a great first experience! I loved fly fishing just down the road and the hosts were very accommodating!
Gorice is generous host. We stayed at Bitterrot Heaven while we visited the valley. The views are magnificent with both the Bitterroots and the Sapphires visible.
There were plenty of amenities and room for our 36’ RV.
We had time to rest, revive and breathe in the beauty of Montana.
Our dog loved the pond, it was his first real lesson in retrieving in water.
Thank you so much to these generous people for a visit that gave us memories for a lifetime.
Monica, Dave and Katy Scott
This was my first experience with Boondockers welcome and Bitteroot Heaven was a wonderful experience. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The site is perfect - they have done a lot to provide power, water, and a large space. Very easy to get to from the main road.
My dog is going to miss this place and hanging out with their pups!
Thank you Bitteroot Heavan
The host were very nice. The spot was very level and easy to get into. We have a 43 foot 5th wheel, which is challenging to find places to stay some times. The river and pond were an added amenity!
I just enjoyed two nights at Bitterroot and absolutely loved it!
Great to have electric in this 90 degree weather, far off the road, views of mountains and water, teriffic hiking trails. A neighbor stopped by to ensure all was well and that i was settled in. The hosts to let me stay, even though they were away when i was there- super grateful. I would love to meet them someday.
A very nice couple and beautiful location.
Gorice was so accomodating. They have a place set up for boondocker a with power and water nearby. We ended up staying an extra day to get some repairs done and Ben helped us find a place and let us chill with WiFi and air co ditioning for the day.
The couple are both pleasant and easy to talk to. The kids loved their doggos.
Thanks so much! A much needed rest!
Tori and family
The hosts were very friendly, provided us water and 30amp service, and even let me use their wi for to work! My husband enjoyed many hours fishing the river with the neighbor and host. We are grateful to have these great experiences and opportunities to meet many people. Glad to know this spot is here, we'd highly recommend it. Thank you!
Ben and Kay are the best of hosts. Eager to make sure you enjoy your visit to the Bitterroot Valley. Their property is gorgeous and they are eager to share this beauty. Enjoyed visiting with them and wish we had more time. We also recommend a ride on the Bitterroot bike trail.
