This is my tiny piece of heaven on Lake Murray. It is on an impounded portion of the lake which means there is a road that separates this portion from the "big water". No boats with anything larger than a trolling motor are allowed on this portion of the lake. There is a marina two minutes from me if you want access to the main lake. I have a camper on the property. I will give you access to two kayaks (if I am there) and the dock. There is a fire pit on the property as well. The sunrises here are amazing if the weather agrees.
No smoking unless it is in your rig. NO illicit drugs at all. Feel free to drink but please, do not fall off the dock! No small children due to the fact this is on the water and there is NO fence to keep them off the dock nor out of the water. There are no railings on the walkway or the dock!!
Bring your fishing pole. :-) You can get a license online, Walmart, at the local gas station, or the at the nearby marina. Bass, perch, and bluegill are the most common fish we catch. If you have your own kayak, canoe, or paddle board, feel free to bring it.
No running generators after 10 p.m.
I have a pit bull and he gets along with most dogs. Because I have neighbors that have dogs and the fact that my property is NOT fenced I ask that you not bring your pet.
* No large ground covers for more than a day to prevent grass damage...unless it is on the gravel part of the property.
Smile and have a great time!!!
This is about a mile off of a main road. The side road is paved but the driveway is gravel.
You can unhitch and park near your rig. Turn around is possible if you have a small rig. You may have to back in if larger than 20 feet.
I am a teacher during the school year. Like you, I like to travel at Spring Break and on holidays. I am there almost every other weekend. If I am there already, one day of advanced notice is fine. If I know I won't be there, I will let you know that as well. Just drop me a line and I will let you know :-)
The town of Prosperity and Newberry are small. Nice towns but not much to see in either place. Leesville and Batesburg are also nearby but also small. There are a few restaurants in all of these places. The closest grocery store is about 10 miles out but there is a Dollar General about 4 miles away and an ABC store as well. There is a gas station that has basics and you can get your fishing license and bait there. It is 45 miles from Columbia, SC. It is about 10 miles to Dreher Island State Park.
Communication back and forth was good. PaddleInn provided all needed information for an easy arrival and departure. Unfortunately, our host was unable to be there this weekend so we were not able to meet. Hopefully, we will meet in the future. Even though she was unable to be there she graciously invited us to stay and enjoy our stay. We did meet the neighbors Timmy and Cheral who were extremely nice. We enjoyed a nice walk on the combination of both paved and gravel roads nearby. The sunsets and, even better, sunrises where amazing as it turned the sky amazing colors as we enjoyed watching geese, ducks, egrets and more. Thank you so much for having us. We brought our inflatable kayak, but did not have time to put it on the lake. Hopefully, we can do it in the future. Thanks again, for a great host and great location.
Had a nice stay. Quiet and peaceful. Even caught a bass on the lake. Hopefully I will be able.to come back soon. Thanks for having me.
Lovely stay on the water. Our host was away so that we were unable to meet, but instructions were clear and we felt warmly welcomed. We look forward to staying again sometime and meeting.
This lakefront property on a quiet street has found object art / garden furniture and a beautiful dock. The host kindly allowed me to reschedule when a storm made travel difficult.
We truly enjoyed this beautiful location! Our host was very kind and we loved spending time on the lake! Thanks again!
Beautiful spot. All the amenities. They were not there but welcomed me to stay. Great communication and hope I can meet them next time.
We enjoyed a great view on our overnight stay. A nice peaceful community of campers and weekenders. Looking forward to next time when it is warm enough to put in our kayaks as there is easy access from the property.
I didn't get to meet my host but we had great communication.
The place is beautiful.
Parked and hooked up elec and water.
Gorgeous lake and dock to have glass of wine.
Was all by myself and it was wonderful.
Would highly recommend this spot to anyone
We enjoyed our brief overnight stay here - easy to find, easy to park, and we had a peaceful night. We made sure to get up early and watch the sun come up while sitting on the dock, too. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us, PaddleInn!
Just what I needed! Thank you for allowing me to stay even though you were not around. I like my private quiet waterfront place. 😊
Thanks, J! We enjoyed sipping coffee and watching the sun rise from your sweet deck. Come visit us some time.😊
Jay seems like a very nice & helpful host, even though our schedules do not coincide, I was allowed to stay on there beautiful property wo their presence.
It would be my pleasure to someday be invited back.
Thank you Jay!
We were so fortunate to be the first boondockers to stay at this wonderful lakeside spot. Our host was so accomodating and welcoming. We enjoyed a campfire together and having dinner on the dock watching the setting sun over the lake was quite an experience. Plan to stop here if you can,
