we are a couple that has a large family, that love to meet new people and have a wonderful time. We have put in 2 50 amp hookups, and 2 120 amp hookups to try to make our visitors stays comfortable. We typically don't ask for a donation, as I feel that it outside the spirit of boondocking, but if you feel good about your stay, and the money we are investing into the amenities and wanted to donate, we would be most appreciative.
mutual respect, and respect of the animals. Fully appreciate children, and this being their first experience with animals, and ask that parents cover ground rules like, no chasing animals, throwing rocks, poking them with sticks, etc...We would be happy to bring some of the social ones over to experience some hands on when we are asked.
right off of asphalt road. There is a hill at the top of the driveway that I like to be there to just have an extra set of eyes to make sure everything clears, but we have never had to turn away a rig yet, and have had many 40+ footers here.
Next to rig
Interstate park if you are into the outdoors. Along with fawn-doe-rosa petting zoo/wildlife education center. Numerous Lakes, parks, etc... Franconia sculpture park for those that are into art type. For food, the Dive inn, both in Taylors falls and Milltown offers excellent food and atmosphere for a old school outdoor drive in. Sir smokes alot has damn good BBQ, pure n simple has great food and amazing baked goods.
We were so thankful for the beautiful yard to stay in! We loved watching and hearing all there animals! Appreciate every minute! Family super generous and nice!
This is truly a gem of a place. It's what John calls a hobby farm. John and family are first rate hosts. Couldn't be nicer, shared a roaring campfire on our final night. The 50amp hookup and water was very much appreciated. We took advantage of his kindness and stayed all 5 nights. We are already planning on returning next year.
We loved hanging out here. Not only did the land feel like home but we felt like we were family. Thabks so much for the great time and we will definitely be returning.
Very accommodating host, with a 50a hookups. Plenty of space for my 36 ft 5th wheel and truck. Highly recommend Jon as wonderful spot to boondock. Will be looking to stay at a later date.
We had a great time while staying at the Home Away From Home. We had a chance to meet other campers and chat with the hosts. Beautiful sunsets, friendly animals, and great hosts. Thank you again for the great stay!
Hosts were extremely hospitable hosts. This is a great family living their best life and sharing it with complete strangers. You definitely do not feel like a stranger though immediately. We enjoyed the conversations and sharing dinner with this family. The property is surreal on that it is a relaxing atmosphere. Was like leaving friends as we were leaving. I would highly recommend this host as a stop if you are in the area. I hope our travels have us crossing paths again in the future.keep living the good life my friends!
This is such a lovely spot on such a lovely Wisconsin hilltop. Getting up the driveway wasn’t even a challenge once I put the truck in 4x4 low. Plenty of space to drive straight in and turn around in the yard to back into the spacious, grassy spot. The couple and their kids were extremely friendly and wonderful to get to know. They ordered pizza one Friday night and we joined them for a delightful meal in the front yard. The chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, dog, and potbelly pigs were a source of constant amusement for us and our kids. The 50 amp electric service was excellent, and a hose coming out from the side of their house provided excellent water pressure. Very quiet and peaceful. We would certainly enjoy visiting again :-)
Wonderful family on a beautiful farm literally 5 miles from where we used to live! The hosts could not have been more down to earth and welcoming! Their farm is gorgeous with lots of rolling hills and they have many critters to make friends with. Great place to bring the whole family! Highly recommend this home away from home while at home!
This wwas our second time staying with this lovely couple, and the relationship we started during our first visit was just strengthened during this one. If you have ever been wanting to experience living on a hobby farm with all kinds of friendly fowl and sweet piggies, you cannot go wrong here!
Feeling like we just pulled away from our own relatives house. Spent a long holiday weekend with this open armed family and had the pleasure of some BW neighbors as well. BOY OH BOY, did we luck out! Imagine planning a camping trip with some of your best friends on a holiday weekend … Well, that’s what it felt like from the second we met the host. We spent lots of time getting to know each other, sharing stories, advice, music, laughs, yummy food, drinks and fireworks with the most down to earth people. Everything felt natural and perfect. The host is so accommodating and wears his heart on his sleeve. We enjoyed being a part of his family this past week and are looking forward to the friendship that will surely last.
What a great example of Warm, Friendly, America’s Patriotic Family. Great shaded lot with great site of a wonderful Hobby Farm. Would love to come back.
Only stayed for 2 nights as we passed through on our way to Michigan. The hosts were busy (very understandably so) but very, VERY hospitable which worked out well for us because we had just come off a week and a half full of social outings and our inner introverts were craving some peace and quiet - which we received!
Bonus - 3 SUPER friendly dogs!!!!
This is one of those places we would have loved to stay longer at and will definitely look up again when we cruise through Minnesota.
We enjoyed a peaceful night on the farm while we were in between reservations. The site was easy to get in and out of with plenty of space with 15 amp electric but we didn't use it since we were only there for a night. Due to our schedule and host's we were unable to visit with them, but from our brief conversation and messages they are very nice and helpful. We will definitely request a stay here next time we are in the area.
And because they are far enough from the city, you don't get the light pollution so be sure to look up at the night sky! So many stars!
Quiet nights and days on a dead end gravel (very short) road. This site is easy to find and easy to get into. Level and plenty of space to spread out. 15 Amp electric worked great.
Our gracious hosts have a busy hobby farm complete with friendly dogs, pot belly pigs, chickens, geese and a cat.
We enjoyed visiting the recommended eateries and shopping nearby.
Will request again when in the area and do recommend to others.
We were instantly welcomed and given a large spot in the grass with hookup to electric and water. Over the course of our stay, our children played with the kids and the animals, and we spent time with the owners getting to know one another. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and would definitely return!
We could not have been happier with the location. The quiet rural setting made for a very comfortable nights rest. Our hosts were welcoming and warm and we spent the evening sharing stories and spending time with their kids, dogs, and three adorable pot bellied pigs. Large, open grassy area was plenty big for our 5th wheel. We would absolutely stay again!
I was surprised how peaceful his place was. I arrived late int he evening & left eraly, so we onlt got to speak briefly. The spot was perfect for my needs.
Juniorcruzer has a nice open area for even big rigs. Very quiet area and a nice family to visit with. They even spoiled us with some homemade jams and some fresh duck eggs to try. They were delicious!
These hosts are wonderful. They are welcoming, warm and provide an enjoyable visit. The dogs are fun but all the other animals are a real treat. They make you feel like family. They took the time to show us around the farm, introduce the animals, answer all our questions about the animals and were wonderful with our two dogs. Their children were well behaved and played with my younger dog and he was just in heaven there. If you are in the neighborhood of this host- you couldn’t ask for more fun and rest. It was a quiet restful night.
Juniorcruzer is a fantastic host. We found the family to be very friendly, polite and considerate hosts. Would highly recommend this place especially if you need a day or a week to just relax and feel welcomed. We enjoyed chatting a lot with hosts in their beautiful log cabin. We look forward to seeing them again next time I’m in the area, or down the road when our paths cross again. It's added to my favorite for next time in the area! Thank you!
We found the host quick to respond to our request and very flexible on our arrival and departure time. We were pluggled in easily and enjoyed the pastoral setting of the farm including the farm animals. The setting is close to the activities in the St. Croix River Valley. We recommend this host without hesitation.
Awesome family, with an amazing variety of very friendly pets and farm animals. The location is in the country, very quiet and serene. Still, it's just a 15 minute drive to gas and supplies. Great hosts in a great location. Couldn't ask for more.
This is a great spot to spend a night or even longer. They have a beautiful house and small farm with lots of critters. We had a very nice visit both in the evening and next morning. Highly recommend them.
We can’t thank these guys enough for their generosity, kindness and friendship. We were their first boondockers, and we think they are hooked! Their children are friendly, polite, energetic and smart, and they introduced us to their ducks, chickens, turkeys, geese and pigs in the barnyard. They also have three very well behaved large dogs who got along great with our little five pound poodle. We can’t recommend them enough, and we hope to see them again!
What’s not to like here! We arrived midday and Jon was quick to come welcome us to his farmhome. We set up on level ground, made ourselves dinner and went to bed early with windows open. What a peaceful night!! You’d never would have guessed that they had, what I called, a small petting zoo just 500 feet away from us. This morning we got to visit Wilber and Wendy and their piglets, Jack and Jill (turkeys), ducks and geese, chickens, a rooster, their barn kittens (so adorable), 2 dogs, a couple rabbits, and potbelly pig! We really enjoyed our short time here and plan to stop again if we travel through Minnesota in the future. Next time more than just one night!
