6 miles west of Montrose, Co. Rural neighborhood, not on thru street, gravel road Oasis Rd. We have 4+ acres with room for 1 rig maybe 2 small ones, cows in the pasture this time of year. We are close to so much, home of "The Black Canyon NP, San Juan Mts. in our back yard, hiking, fishing , sight seeing, bikes, whatever......Ute Museum has great rock art tour.
If you have any special interests just ask, if we don’t know, we may know someone who does.....
1) Pick up after pets, and must be on a leash or controlled.
2) Leave the area clean or cleaner then when you arrived.
3) Quiet time after 8 pm, unless we are partying with you, which that’s not likely
4) No smoking around us, if I see butts on the ground, yours will be down the road.
5) No fires on the ground, we do have a portable fire pit, just ask. Firewood available, a bundle 5 bucks.
6) No generators after 10 pm
Two gates in and out, 2nd gate works best. We have had 40" Class A Motorhomes towing 17’ trailer or toad with no problems. Set up parallel to shed roof facing road is our suggestion, or along pasture fence. The cows will gently wake you in the morning, moooo mooo. Good gravel drive thru
Next to your rig, or in the pasture.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Mountain West Museum, Blue Mesa Reservoir, Gunnison River. Ouray, Telluride, Silverton, Escalante Canyon, Dominguez Canyon, Uncompaghre River, walk, fishing, floating. Hiking everywhere, bike riding, you name it’s here or close by.
Alan and Becky’s place was outstanding. Just outside of town on a very quiet and beautiful property. Having water and power was a plus. Had the opportunity to exchange traveling stories with Alan - he had some great suggestions for Utah and Arizona since that was my next 2 destinations. I’ll back for sure!
DUKE and I had a great time staying with this kind family as we finished exploring western Colorado. A must stay if in the area. Thank you again for your hospitality.
My host met me as I arrived, helped me back in and offered everything I needed. Can't say enough good things about this stay. Beautiful view of the mountains, very quiet, cows in the field next to me just fantastic did not want to leave. Highly recommend.
Absolutely quiet and peaceful location. We loved our spot next to the fence looking out onto the neighbor's fields and cows. Our hosts were gracious and informative, giving us additional ideas for boondocking spots. Last but not least, our host offered us use of one of his power tools which enabled us to make a helpful modification to our 5th wheel. Thank you!
These were gracious and caring hosts at their beautiful spot in the quiet countryside....the San Juan Mts were in grand view, snow covered at that! Peaceful and relaxing and a real pleasure to talk with these experienced fellow campers! A bonus was meeting their sweetheart of a lab Memphis who got along fabulously with my little Riley!
Alan was very hospitable and knowledgeable. With his sweet labrador he even took us and our pup to a nice area for a walk in the morning, which we greatly appreciated. We had a nice flat spot by the large pasture, and it made for a peaceful night!
Our family had such a great time ! Our hosts were so accommodating. My husband went hiking with “A” and even enjoyed helping him with a home project!
There are numerous biking and hiking trails In the area we look forward to seeing more next time. Enjoyed part of the day at the state park near by paddle boarding.
This location has gorgeous views! We would love to go back😊
The hospitality here was greatly appreciated. Lots of outdoor activities in this quiet town. Wonderful hosts.
Alan and Becky are awesome hosts! The site is quite and peaceful with gorgeous views. Montrose is a quaint town with lots of Parks. There is a place in town where you can do your laundry, wash your dogs, and wash your truck! We had just been through several weeks of driving and staying in areas that where very dusty so we appreciated these services.
Wonderful hosts. Had a great time visiting... we took them to lunch, then they have is a tour of town. They gave us a ton of info on local attractions. Couldn't have been more generous and friendly. Thanks much!
Al and Becky were so kind and welcoming. They have done quite a bit of traveling and Al was so nice to share some books and info on good places to go out west. There place is beautiful with mountains in the distance and so many neat towns around to drive to. We drove to Ouray and Telluride while we were there and also took in a nice Jeep trail recommended by Al called Ophir pass. Probably one of the most beautiful drives we’ve encountered on our trek around the country with the aspens turning. We ate dinner at a town called Ridge Way which was quaint and fun with restaurants and shops. We had no problem getting our 43 foot motorhome parked in their driveway area next to the garage. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in Montrose. We hope to be back!
Al and Becky provided electricity and water as well as a quiet and peaceful campsite. They told us about the Black Canyon and other local attractions.
Becky and Alan were such welcoming and hospitable hosts. They made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. The evening refreshments on the patio provided for good conversation and a spectacular sunset lighting up the distant mountain range.
Both hosts are a wealth of knowledge for local and regional camping. They provided us with so much new information on Colorado and Utah which helped us immensely in revising our travel plans.
Thank you so much.

We enjoyed our visit to Montrose very much. Our hosts are very nice and hope to see them again the next time we are there.
Alan and Becky are wonderful and gracious hosts. And their place out in the country is just beautiful. Surrounded by green fields and a view of the distant mountains, it is perfection. It was great meeting you both and thanks so much for your hospitality!
A quiet place in the country where you can see the mountains and the stars. Alan was very helpful. We didn't get a.chance to meet Becky. It is very easy to find and close to town. Enjoyed our stay.
A very nice place, quiet, view in the mountains and very kindly and helpfull hosts.
Thank you Alan and Becky. Your property is fantastic. So quiet and peaceful, with lovely views of the mountains surrounding Montrose. It was such a treat to enjoy the birds singing in the morning and to take a leisurely stroll along your road.
This property was stunning and perfect for a stopover on our trip. We highly recommend Becky and Alan’s place. They were great hosts and our dog loved playing with their lab, Memphis. Hope to stay again in the future.
Staying here was just what we needed. We had just gotten back to our "home base" of Colorado and had to take care of a bunch of Dr's appointments, meetings... you know how it is if you are a full timer like us! They made sure we had everything we needed and were more than comfortable and then left us to relax and take care of business. He had even offered to help fix our water pump, which I would have taken him up on had our schedule not been so full.
They were close enough to Montrose for it to be convenient, but far enough away that the night sky was full of stars and a peaceful sleep was to be had every night.
Very dog friendly area as well so a big plus for me!
Thanks for a great stay!
Allan and Becky has been wonderful with us! We had really appreciated their help to organize our trip according to their experience for the next step. We even changed our plans since their advice was better than what we had plan initially. Their place is perfect for visiting Black canyon and the surrounding area. We hope to find other host like them in our trip! Thanks again!
Helpful host in wonderful part of Colorado Thank you!!
Becky welcomed us in and showed us where to set up. Alan was a fountain of knowledge, not only on the area here but pretty well all over the USA. The dogs got along well and played together. Location is great, close enough to Montrose, Ouray and all the other great places as well.
Al and Becky are great hosts! Al is a font of knowledge regarding the area and was a great help in our tour of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. He also gave us great advice about the less stressful route to Silverton and Durango by way of Telluride. Montrose and the entire area is stunning for both its views (including the San Juan Mountains) and the weather. Ask Al about the fantastic western museum on Montrose with 500,000 items and a complete western town built with preserved local and regional buildings. For you fight fans, Montrose was the first place Jack Dempsey fought, and the building he practiced in AND his gloves are at this museum. Thanks Al and Becky for a delightful stay!
We had great stay! They were very accommodating and informative about where to eat in town. We never slept so good because it was so quiet. And they gave us some pears from their tree! Really enjoyed talking to them about their Alaska trip.
Really nice folks! Nice spot and very quiet too. We’re hoping they come visit us in the coming months. And even Memphis makes you feel welcome too.
First & foremost, thank you Alan from calling me from ALASKA to make arrangements for me to stay at your lovely property in Montrose! It is easy to find, great access, private parking & what fantastic views of the San Juan (I think) mountains! Peaceful & quiet....I hope to return when you are home so I can thank you in person!
We stayed 3 nights with Alan & Becky.
The location is very quite, suited in a farm atmosphere, surrounded with cows and green fields. Nevertheless - only a few minutes drive to Montrose.
Alan gave us a few good advices and showed us around.
We woke to the song of meadow larks, a mountain view and fresh air....what a blessing! This spot offers a pull through plus electricity and the hosts are more than gracious. We felt right at home.

We came to town to visit family and ended up making new friends. Al and Becky went above and beyond helping us before, during and after our stay. Their place is close enough to town that it's convenient to where you need to go, but far enough away that the only sounds you hear at night are cows, coyotes and birds.
The hosts went above and beyond "the call of duty." They were travelling themselves, but still allowed us to stay at their place. We had a great time watching our dog react to the playful calves.
I talked with Alan before we arrived to learn where exactly to park our trailer. Thanks for the burger tip, but we found out that special is only offered to locals off-season. No worries - the beer was grand! Hope you make it this way eventually. Enjoy that trip to AK!
Allen and Becky are wonderful host great directions and easy to maneuver our 37ft motor home after unlatching the car. We loved the quiet and we rested from our long trip. Enjoyed Becky's cheese cake and there conversation would deffently recommend this location thank you Allen and Becky and Memphis

Al and Becky were great hosts. We chatted with Al quite a bit when we first got in and they both recommended all sorts of places to eat, and hikes or car rides we might enjoy. We came to the area for the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, but could not believe how gorgeous and peaceful our stay would be in Montrose. Memphis was also a very gracious hostess to our pup Cricket. Would gladly stay here again next time we are in the area.
