2 acres on the shore of Chedabucto Bay. Cleared area surrounded by trees. We have our 30' FR3 parked here all summer, but there is lots of room for visiting vehicles with multiple parking spots to choose from, all with a beautiful view of the ocean. We are continuing to develop (clear & build) on the property each summer. (Any help offered is gratefully appreciated) We are located right on the water with a nearby (maybe 7 minute walk) public stone beach with swimming area. The property is surrounded by Crown land to hike and explore and the area boasts numerous tourist stops, including Cape Breton Island only about an hour drive away. Very quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife around! There is also the Sea Breeze Campground just down the road (about 15 minute walk) if you need a place to stay to hookup before or after your visit.
Pets welcome! Kids welcome! 20+ foot cliff down to the water that is gorgeous and awe inspiring to walk along, please don't let your pets fall :) Also, please have proper shoes or boots to wear, the vegetation is quite wild still and as a result there are thorn covered plants that are prevalent in some areas.
Quiet and we like it that way, so please no early mornings. No Generators between 10PM and 8 AM.
Please leave the place as clean as you found it!
We like our trees, so fires in provided areas only (or help me make a new one).
Access road is old gravel road not used much over the last 50-100 years. Has been updated with new culverts, widened to accommodate rigs, and re-surfaced to provide a comfortable ride in and out. No steep hills and corners have been opened up and widened and trees cut back (both at the sides and above) to allow rigs to navigate. We have a round driveway allowing visitors to pull through without having to back up to leave. Some visitor park sites are pull through while others are back in. All provide a view of the ocean!
Unpaved gravel ... lots of space either next to rig or separate (may be out of sight of rig if separate). Visitor's choice.
We are currently on the property staying in our motorhome and are prepared for guests coming through who are willing to abide by basic safety and health recommendations due to COVID-19.
We are here most days/times in July through November, and have a flexible schedule to meet you. If you are around just outside of these dates, contact us!
Short drive to the historic town of Canso (about 10 minutes) or the town of Guysborough (about 30 minutes) where the Authentic Seacoast Distilling Company is located and can be visited. An hour and 5 minutes to Cape Breton Island, though you can see it from our shores. Truly this is a place to just stop and rest for a bit. STAN ROGERS Folk Festival is the last weekend in July, only a 10-minute drive away in Canso! And there are always events taking place within a short drive. Don't forget to visit a real historic lighthouse in Queensport, the lighthouse museum in Half Island Cove, and the numerous maintained hiking trails around and the Canso Islands national historic site too.
Thank's to the Franks, The site was more than quiet and has a great view. To access I would say a 30ft rig is pretty much the biggest rig that can access. For all other smaller rigs it is really a great spot.. Thank again
I greatly enjoyed Frank and Laura’s hospitality - what a lovely place! Woke up to the sound of loons. Hope to return one day.
The hosts were so kind and welcoming throughout our whole stay. They were kind and totally supportive in our want to just stay on their property and truly get some RnR. Recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a place to unwind!
The Frank's & their location combine to make this one of my favorite BOONDOCKING stays of 2019! The Frank's are completely off the grid (except WIFI which they do graciously share) as they prepare their almost wilderness but beautiful location for their eventual retirement home.
The nature is beautiful & the Frank's are very gracious hosts.
Thank you both,
What a great place! We came for the Stan Rogers Folk Festival which we were introduced to because of host's comments on their Boondocker site. What a cool event with wonderful artists. To make the trip perfect was Serenity Shores, Stephen, Laura, and the cats.
Their location is beautiful with amazing sunrises across the ocean and so peaceful. Our hosts were wonderful, treated us like family, and gave great recommendations.
They were gracious enough to let us stay a few extra days and help with some projects around their property and contribute to their dream.
Amazing stay and hosts! Thanks so much!!!!
Lovely people, lovely setting. We exchanged stories around the campfire and had the opportunity to see their future plans for their homestead. Hope to get back in 2 years to see their dreams come true.
The folks at Serenity shores are so generous to share their scenic little corner of NS and their camp fire with us and others.
Stayed for two nights. Such friendly and generous people. Had a wonderful time chatting about everything. Enjoyed being able to help with the construction on their new workshop. So happy for them finding this magical place on the Nova Scotia coast.
We had a great stay and learned abit about there part of the Island
Would definitely go back if we have the chance 😎
