It is a 21 acre quiet spot next to a brook. There is a barn on the property where electric is available. Pets are welcome however they need to be watched and leashed. Pick up after your pet a must. The property adjoins our home but private. We are located on State Route 23 North close to High Point NJ. Please confirm arrival as the entrance is gated.
No more then two days stay. Keep pets under control and pick up poop immediately. Take with you what you bring. There is no garbage service. You may use alcohol but no drunken parties, abusive loud language and behavior. I reserve the right to expel you immediately from my property. Please confirm arrival date and time as the gate is locked.
Two lane winding state road

We enjoyed our stay by a small brook. Site was lit and level. Host was kind and helpful. We cut our visit short because we were trying to stay in front of the rain. Must drive slow on highway so you don't miss the drive. Gate is narrow so take a wide turn to get in.
We really enjoyed our little clearing and the creek that runs through it. We also had no idea that NJ was so pretty! We walked around the network of old roads and stone walls and found some cool old things. Very lovely place and our host was very welcoming. Plus he has a sweet car collection. Thanks so much for having us!
Lovely, roomy, level, grassy/graveled spot, well off the road and next to a burbling stream. Hardinge was a kind, gracious and generous host who made sure we were settled in and introduced us to Mr Raja, a real, grey haired charmer.
Roadway has a good lip as you turn off the road into the driveway so take it slow. BW directions suggested taking Rt 23 through High Point State Park (highest point in NJ), but we found it a tough climb/decline towing our trailer compared to Rt 519.
We would definitely recommend Mr Raja's place to anyone. We'll bring bread to feed Mr Raja's fish next time.
Thank you, Hardinge.
Peaceful place along the babbling brook was so scenic. The host were gracious and helpful. Meeting raja’s himself was great.
Beautiful property with historical stone fence was memorable.
Hope to to go there again.
Host was pleasant and helpful. He came by to see if I need anything. Stay was really peaceful. I enjoyed watching the fish in the brook. Easy in and out. I would come again.
Lovely location along the babbling creek with a small bridge. Perfect place to return after a long day adventuring in NY. Incredibly welcoming host with a long history on the property. Great to get to know them a bit and hear the story of their name.
What a delightful respite we enjoyed at Raja’s Place. Thank you to our wonderful hosts, Lawrence and Tara. We had a very lovely and quiet evening after a days drive on the highway. Our dog, Clancy (a rescue pit bull mix) was soon greeted by Lawrence and enjoyed pets and hugs..and they sure made friends. Our cats, Finn and Nora enjoyed the scenic view and bird songs! Tara came to meet Clancy and soon another friend was made! Raja’s place is a true gift to boondockers and nicer hosts we couldn’t ask for. Peter-and I enjoyed seeing and hearing about Lawrence’s car, tractor and truck collection. Our only regret is not meeting Raja Perhaps next time! 😉. Thank you once again for a lovely stay.
“Clancy’s Family” ( Peter and Nannette McDonald).
Host was very accommodating, spot was level, very easy to miss so be prepared to pass the entrance at least once 😁. Host has a great car collection. Tree Farm is lovely. Our spot was well shaded and had electric plug in for us! Creek runs thru the property. My 3 year old had a blast. This family is a treasure
Fantastic host! Made us feel at home. Met him and his dog. Wonderful man doing what he loves.
We arrived much later than expected and it was pitch dark. I was on the phone Lawrence and he was directing me in. Of course I missed the driveway. He went out of his way to get in his car and catch up to me and lead me right to it. He even gave me a 15 amp service. We did not get a chance to explore the property due to time restraints. I couldn't say enough nice things about this host!
This is exactly the kind of spots we are looking for with BW. Nice and quiet, plenty of room, nice hiking area, and a great host! The gate was a little scary, but just take your time and go slow. Traffic will have to stop. If I can do it, you can
Great stay that is very quiet and private. Hosts were gracious and made sure we were all set and offered power. Very welcoming and hope to meet up in the future.
We had to cut short our stay due to change of plans. Great host, doing his share to help out a fellow RV’er.
Very friendly host. Easy in and out. Nice level spot. Pretty stream with fish. We saw deer and a groundhog. Great place for an overnight.
Mr. Raja was pleasant and patient when we got turned around and delayed. We had fun checking out all his toys.
His property with the babbling brook, the barn and pastures is lovely. Hope I have the chance for a revisit. Thank you for your hospitality!!
Had to revisit this peaceful brook side site that we discovered last year. The host came by to show us his new vintage MG in pristine condition including the tow bar he installed.
Also showed us a mechanical inertial braking system he installed on his vintage restored English Jeep toad.
A must stopping place for a great boondocking experience in. Western New Jersey!!
Super friendly and gracious host. Only issue was transition from driveway to road is steep, we bent a stabilizer on it. Please exercise caution as gate is narrow.
This spot is wonderful, a nice grassy area near a stream. It is large enough to turn around without unhooking your tow vehicle. The host is very accommodating and couldn't be any nicer. This was our second stay here.
From the direction we came it was a quick turn off the highway. The gate looks narrow but no problem getting our 10' wide RV through.
Really easy set up, very level. We saw deer in the morning. But the best part was meeting Lawrence, we share interest in MGs and Axis...:-).
Great guy and Raja is a soulful sweety.
This is our second opportunity to stay with our most gracious and welcoming hosts.
The gate was open prior to our arrival and we were able to navigate our 29 ft class A with tow down the driveway. It's a little tight, but just go slowly and you too will enjoy this respite with a calming stream, wildlife, a spacious flat parking area with power and another plus, Verizon works well here.
Once we were settled our host was there to find out if we needed anything. It was so good to see them again, such a pleasure to sit and talk with these interesting people. We always seem to learn something from them, and we got caught up on what has happened since we last visited.
So quiet here, we slept very well but unfortunately shortened our stay due to a mechanical issue with the rig and a cold, wet forecast. We are already looking forward to our next visit with them, and hopefully we will have time to explore this area as well.
We really hope Raja and family can free up some time to visit with us someday soon.
Great stay at a very nice location. Parked my truck and got out to level it and it didn't need in. Had a nice conversation with the host who was pleasant and informative.
Our host was working when we arrived. He graciously helped us get set up. Wish we had time to walk the property. Maybe next time. Thanks for being a good host
Love your collection.
This location is beautiful - peaceful, spacious, level and easy to get to. Our host was so friendly and kind, we hope our paths cross again!
A very peaceful stay at Raja's place. Quiet location, host was very helpful making sure we had no problem hooking up. Highly recommended for those passing through the area.
We stayed one night in our 29 foot Class A motor home. There was plenty of room and we had a nice level spot. We got to meet Lawrence and Raja, his dog and had a pleasant conversation. The creek was ready for fishing and the antique cars were really fun.
We stayed at Rajahs place and our experience couldn’t have been better. The spot we parked looking at the creek was level side to side and front to back without unhooking from truck. Our host came down to meet us and showed us his antique cars and offered us electric. Very kind and generous.
We enjoyed a relaxing evening and night parked at Raja’s place. We were lucky enough to meet our host and exchange some travel stories. Thanks again!
We spent one night at rajas place and had a great experience. Lawrence is friendly and helpful and made us super comfortable. He and his wife even brought us a fantastic dinner! Their property is beautiful and they are generous and welcoming. Thank you so much lawrence.
This was our first time using Boondockers welcome. We had a great experience at Raja's place!! Hardinge is wonderful host and just an awesome person!! He met us at the top of the mountain and guided us to the gate of his property. We made it through the gate just fine though it was a little hairy because it was so dark which made it difficult to see. But we got in and parked just fine. We pull a 40ft 5th wheel with a 1 ton Chevy dually. Thank you, Hardinge for your hospitality! I'm sure we'll be back. Perfect halfway stop when we travel from our home to family in New Hampshire.
If you don’t like an occasional bird sound interrupting you, then this is not for you. However, if parking your rig by a clear stream away from being jammed up in a park with a clear star studded sky appeals to you, then this is a must if you are ever near. We had a great conversation with the host and a tour of his antique vehicles when we arrived. I had fun catching and releasing 3 small bass. Hopefully they will be pan size when we will surely return from Oklahoma next year. I may have used editorial privilege by using valley, but the road in does slope down towards the stream and there is a grass and tree covered hill across the stream where you might get a glimpse of wildlife. This is our second great Boondocking experience. We are hooked.
Our stay at Raja's Place included L meeting us roadside in his vintage right-drive Jeep and escorting us the level parking spot we selected from several options he provided. He was very gracious in offering his electric hookup and inviting us to explore their property. We found the location a great spot for exploring the Delaware Water Gap - which is wonderful! Also convenient to High Point State Park.
Some highlights on site were the 16-inch +/- turtle we watched swimming in the stream adjacent to where we set up along with several large fish, lots of wildflowers, plentiful butterflies and a spectacular sunset.
It was another great Boondockers Welcome experience for us.
Thank you L!
We had such a relaxing time at Rajas place. The park around the house was so breath taking. Our host was so kind as to show us his car collection and he welcomed us at the gate. We reccomend Rajas place
We stayed one night and couldn't be more pleased. L got back to us immediately and checked on our progress so that he was there to meet us at the end of his road when we arrived. There was a very large mowed area to park near the barn and the brook, and we were able to turn around without unhooking the toad. L was very accommodating to our needs, a real gentleman. We enjoyed a quiet, peaceful night. We wouldn"t hesitate to stay again!
Raja’s place is awesome. This was a stop over on a trip to New Hampshire. But I could have spent a few days. Very rural feel, small wooded area to walk, several meadows to park in. And a nice creek to sit by to eat.
We have visited Raja's place and enjoyed it so much we came back! We have been staying with family waiting to pick up our RV after 9 months away from her. We brought our niece with us and she loved it. We saw deer, rabbits, and bears. We visited the nearby High Point State Park for a picnic. We stuck our toes in the creek and saw fish and a snapping turtle. And as always the wonderful dog, Raja! Our hosts could not have been kinder! Thank you again!
Had a wonderful time at this location, the host was very nice and welcoming. We even had permission to walk his entire property.
RAJA’s place is a great spot tucked away at the tip of northern N.J. Hardinge and Raja were great hosts. If you like to hike, there’s great hiking just minutes away.
Flat and scenic. Host was kind enough to meet me and lead me in ... which was very helpful. Hooked me up and checked in later to be sure I was all set. Very friendly and kind. I would go back.
We went to the site but we weren't able to get through the gate with our fifth wheel and dually. We met the host and he was very kind and encouraged us to try again maybe by straightening out but we were afraid to keep trying so we backed out and left. He was kind enough to help us back out and drove my husband to a spot down the road to meet me after we drove off. Thank you so much. We wish it would have worked out. It looked like a lovely place to stay.
The host was very helpful and called several times to see if we were set up.
We will stay here again!
The property was private and wide open. Easy to level. Thank you for opening your space to us as we traveled through the area. It rained quite a bit the night of our stay but the ground dried nicely by the time we left.
My husband and I would highly recommend a visit to Raja’s place. The property is lovely very peaceful and quiet there is a nice little brook and a great place for walking thank you so much Raja, we appreciate your hospitality and Would love to stay again if we’re in this area thank you again
This has been one of our favorite host locations! Only miles from High Point State Park with gorgeous views and hikes of all skill levels, fantastic cell signal, not far from shopping, little bit of traffic noise during the day, but super quiet, peaceful and dark at night. We hope to visit again in the future, Thank you Raja's Place!
Great host Lawrence was kind enough to let me have a part shipped to him for my 5th wheel. Beautiful spot. The high land state park was great. If going. Take exit 2. Not. Exit 1.
The spot was level and the kids loved the creek and discovering baby snapping turtles! Nice, private, and quiet... we recently visited NYC and this was a nice recovery from the busy city!
We woke up to a flat tire and the host helped with an air compressor and directions to a tire shop that fixed us up and got us on our way quickly!
Thanks so much!!
New Jersey – who knew?! Beautiful property, nice and level spot beside the barn, and an interesting visit with our warm and welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend this spot to our fellow BW friends. And Raja is one sweet dog!
What a lovely, welcoming couple. The property is well maintained, quiet and great location. Would highly recommend this Boondockers property. If in the area this property should be high on your list. Thanks so much to the hosts.
This is a wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed the creek and chatting with the host. He shared his collection of autos, Rv's, and tractors. We enjoyed chatting with our host how has many interests. AND we loved Raja! This pup is very special and it really is Raja's place! Thank you again and we hope we can see you again soon!
He was very accommodating to our needs.
He has a great location for boondocking.
Enjoyed talking with him.
Raja his dog is very friendly.
This was a great spot! Convenient and very private. The host was very accommodating!
This was our second stay at Raja's place so we knew how to find it with no problems. We appreciate their hospitality and will ask to stay again if we are passing by this way. Thank you very much!
Very friendly and accommodating hosts. When we had trouble finding the location we called our host for further directions, but he graciously came to where we were and led us to it. The parking space is large with gravel, and level. Our stay was only two nights, and the day between was rainy, so we did not get to explore the grounds and meet with them again after our initial introductions when we arrived. Too bad, as we enjoyed that conversation and would have liked to have another one. We are not "dog people," but Raja was very friendly and well behaved, so we enjoyed meeting him, too. After several nights at a previous stay without electricity it was nice to have 120v at Raja's Place.
We had a nice stay. Slept well. Beautiful area. Had a good visit with our host. Good 0lace to stay.
We had trouble finding the place, Lewrance came especially to lead the way. Helped so much!
He was a very kind and welcoming person. Felt very safe when dealing with him.
We only ended up staying for one night at Raja's place even though we had been scheduled for two. We have friends in the area and wanted to be closer to them to visit and not drive 30 min each way. Lawrence was was so understanding. This is a beautiful spot to come and decompress from the city or just stay and enjoy the area. There is a state park 10 min away that is incredible. Unfortunately, we never got to meet the gracious hosts. Communication was on point and very welcoming. Thank you for the hospitality hardinge, we are so appreciative that there is such a wonderful community of people out there that will open up their space for us road travelers to have a quiet and safe place to land. :)
Another great (even if short) stay at Raja’s Place!!
Got to meet some fellow Boondocker’s from Canada 🇨🇦 and chatted in the RV for a while!!
Decided to leave the next morning to continue our journey south!
Lawrence is an awesome guy. Very welcoming and a fantastic spot to stay. He’s got some very cool toys. Classic trucks, cars, Jeep, Harley and Raja the dog was so freindly! The world needs more people like Lawrence!
Great communication prior to our stay and after we left. And wow, what a first impression, such warm and welcoming people, it felt like visiting with old friends! Great location, love the brook, and saw 4 whitetail deer for a moment before they saw us. Unfortunately we could only stay the one night but look forward to hosting them and Raja (such a well behaved sweet boy) or returning to their home again in the near future! Thank you again for the power!
We are loving our stay at Raja’s Place. Raja is a very handsome and sweet dog!!
He has graciously invited us to stay on until Thursday!!
We were leaving here today to head to Vermont, but there is so much to see here and the accommodations are just lovely with a flowing creek right outside our door. Very private as their home is on the complete other side of the property.
We will come back here, if Raja 🐕 says we can!!!
The location was ideal. It is very close to the High Point State Park in N.J. The host and his family are the best. The spot is quiet with a stream running close to it. The expansive woods invites one to loiter. I witness deer grazing. The host invited me to view his collection of antique automobiles. I am sure to visit the Hardinge family again in the future.
Raja's place was a lovely stop-over for us on our way to the NYC area. Our host Lawerence was friendly and provided us with a shady, level spot close to his barn, with electricity to boot. He has several acres to explore, and even suggested a local event that we enjoyed (the Saturday night Classic Cars Cruise-In). We highly recommend Raja's if you are in the northern NJ area! Kim & Joe
This was a perfect place to stay. The parking has gravel and it was easy to maneuver my 37 foot RV. The river was very peaceful and relaxing, the the nearby field was a great place to spot some roaming deer. If you have a big rig, take your time going through the gate as the posts can be a little intimidating but we were able to handle it with no problem. The host was excellent and met us our first night. He was very friendly and polite, and took us for a short walk with his dog and showed us the area around the campsite. All in all, it was a great stay and we were very happy.
We had a fantastic time at Raja’s place, another piece of paradise in this this amazing country. Nestled by the river we were able to see deer wandering around the property and greeted by Raja and his owners Lawrence and Tara.
We were shown nothing but warm hospitality and given great tips on getting into NY city for a day trip.
Thank you so much for hosting us. Please come visit us in Australia one day soon.
