We are 13 minutes from Dover Mall and Dover Downs, about an hour from the beaches, and Christiana Mall. If in need of camper supplies there is a Walmart 20 minutes away and RV sales/parts in Smyrna. DAFB is just 20 minute ride. Super markets within 5 miles or so from the house.
We are non-smokers and prefer not to be around cigarette/cigar/pipe smoke. But if you must please respect to maintain a distance away from our entrees and open windows. You may do so inside of your camper all you want though. Please don't throw your butts on the ground.
If traveling with pets, please keep them to the rear of the property (not in the gardens or on fruit trees) and clean up immediately after they do their business. We have a doogie can in the back yard to dispose of pet's doogie. If your pet tends to be aggressive or an aggressive breed such as Pit Bull please use a leash when walking. The wife is deadly afraid of Pitts. We leash our Chorkie, but allow our German Shepherd off leash to do his business.
We just adopted another German Shepherd who presently keep on a leash when taking her out to do her business. We prefer not to socialize our dogs with unfamiliar pets and I understand many dog owners feel their 4-legged friend is friend to all, but they are animals, things can happen. Never allow your pet be unattended while outside. If we are outdoors with our dogs playing please wait before taking your dog out. Of course no barking dogs left in the camper or tied outside. Barking okay when playing. It's just part of their game.
11.00 PM to 7:00 AM
Okay within reason. Casual beer or other beverage is fine. I may even join you in one. But we do not want a bunch of drunks partying on the property out of respect for our hospitality.
If you have family or friends in the area they are welcome to come out, pick you up and take you out, but not to hang around and socialize please.
We may need to add, adjust or remove a rule as we become more experienced with Boondockers Welcome so please bear with us.
Back into driveway. We are on a flat, two-lane, paved, country road with no shoulder. There is a drainage ditch on both sides of road to be aware of when backing. Our driveway is paved, 12.5 feet wide in the front and widens towards the back which gives me enough room to park a boat, truck, and camper abreast. I can accept up to 40 foot camper as long as you can navigate the 12.5' front section.
Driveway leans to the left side of the camper about 5", but I have wood planks to help leveling.
Also if need be, can back up to the grass behind the driveway. Which is what I'd probably do with our camper or boat to provide you more camping space.
Room to park in the paved driveway in front of your camper.
We are usually home unless shopping or camping. Even though we prefer a 7 day request if you are in a jam we may be available on a days notice.
Note: As of 2019 we will be placing our home on the market somewhere between May and July. At that time we will have to refrain from accepting guest for obvious reasons. Until our home is on the market we will continue to welcome guest to stay.
We will be moving to the northwest of the country and once settled we will open up our new home to guest.
Dining and slots at Dover Downs

Closest Brewery with restaurant is BrickWorks in Smyrna then there is DogFish Brewery in Milton that has tours available. Harvest Winery 13 minutes.
Jerry and his wife were great hosts. We were very comfortable staying in their driveway during the week. Nice and relatively quiet location. They are good, kind, and easygoing people and it was truly a pleasure staying with them. We'll keep in touch. Thanks so much! :-)
