This is our second stay at D&D. Great hosts, really go out of their way to make it easy for you to just relax. We've had the opportunity to chat with them on both our stays - great folks who really enjoy sharing their little piece of heaven with others. Highly recommend "Dale's Resort" to anyone who needs a comfortable place to chill for a couple days in La Pine. Dale recently added a gravel pad with 30a electric and well water. Just really couldn't ask for more!
Nice place to stay. Enjoyed visiting and talking RVs with the host and his wife. Highly recommended!
We loved staying here! We were made to feel so welcome. Dale helped us back our rig into the best location on the edge of the driveway, giving us privacy and a view of pine trees.
We stayed at Dale’s for one night, and he was an incredibly gracious and kind host. He allowed us to use power and gave us recommendations for places to check out in Bend!
D was soo accommodating and worked with our ever changing schedule with our baby. Even when he was going out of town himself during our visit he was so trusting and gracious. Very humbled to have stayed at his home and treated it like our own. I would highly recommend staying here. Level spots and multiple options. I just wish we could have met them for our stay. Hopefully we can meet another time!
We had a nice stay. He was extremely accommodating and kind. The street was super quiet.
We highly recommend Dale’s Resort if you want a quiet and relaxing base for your exploration of the Bend area. There is so much to do in this area, we wish we could stay longer. Crater Lake National Park, Newberry National Volcano Monument, the High Desert Museum, many hikes and mountain bike trails and of course, Bend are all within a reasonable drive from this host. The location is well situated and your rig can be oriented for great solar if needed.
This host is very friendly, responsive and really does go out of his way to make you feel welcome.
La Pine is an area, not much of a town here, with lots of trees. The hosts were very accommodating, also very friendly, and go out of their way to provide a comfortable stay. While we were there, two other RVs were also staying. The parking spots are far enough apart there is not crowding like in a park.
This was my first time using BW. I was worried it would be awkward to be parked in someone's yard, but I was wrong. This was such a comfortable and pleasant stay. The host greeted me, offered electric and water hookups, and then gave me privacy (I work remotely and needed to work). After I finished working we enjoyed a glass (or two!) of wine and lovely conversation while our dogs played together.
If every BW site is as great as this one, I will likely never stay in an RV park again. Highly recommend!
I had one bar of Verizon 4G, and with my booster was able to use my hotspot just fine. The host offered wifi but I didn't need it.
Our hosts are most generous and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful wooded setting, close to Bend. We thank our hosts for sharing their property with us.
This was our first boondocking experience in Oregon. We were greeted at the entrance by Dale who quickly directed us to the perfect spot on his property to access water, electricity, and Wi-Fi.
When we asked for recommendations for dinner he told us the best place to go in town and even called and made reservations for us.
Dale is the consummate host who loves to spend time with people and I would strongly encourage a stay at Dale's Resort
This has been an awesome stay. Such a great spot, such friendly people, and has everything you could need. Dale was so wonderful and friendly and generous. We had some emergency mail that we couldn’t figure out where to get it sent to and he said we could have it there with no hesitation and checked multiple times for us if it had arrived yet. (He even let us stay a couple extra days to figure it out and make sure it would be there) Had water, electricity, WiFi. Everything you’d need and we felt super at home. Dale was around to lend a wrench when needed and a conversation to go with. Perfect stay would love to come back and visit or hopefully run into each other down the line. Will not forget their generosity.
A huge thanks to Dalegrinols and his wife. Such warm and welcoming folks. They made us feel like we were old friends from the moment we pulled up. This was our first Boon-dockers Welcome stay. We are stilling sorting out our "new to us" 1997 Safari Serengeti and they were very kind and helpful every minute. We will definitely seek them out again. Thanks so very much!
Not only is the property beautiful, the kindness that these host extended to us went above and beyond. The power supplied all our needs (including a/c), water hookup, nice open area easy to maneuver, trees surrounding everywhere and the stars....I can’t get over the stars!!! I just can’t speak highly enough of these hosts and their place. So grateful. These hosts were such a blessing!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
When we grow up we want to be Dale and Debbie! What a great example of kind, fun-loving and generous people!
D&D were our first Boondockers Welcome experience and boy did we get lucky. If we could leave 10 stars for this experience we would. It's folks like these that make traveling so much sweeter. Like traveling to your favorite State or National Parks, we should all be grateful that there are people like D&D in our beautiful country, they are national treasures!! They represent some of the best values we collectively have to offer as citizens, who are inclusive and willing to go the extra mile to bring joy to your experience. For us, they are now part of our global tribe and we are thankful to have met them. See you in the future guys!
WARNING: You will want to stay forever and live here with the nicest people in the world. Such a nice property with a couple options for space. D+D were welcoming, helpful and friendly hosts. Abundant wildlife in such a serene setting. We will be back for sure! Thank you for opening your space to us and making it so comfortable!
What great hosts! Very accommodating and helpful. Offered electric and water. Visited with us and gave us great suggestions on travel spots. Great spot to walk or bike. Convenient drive to Bend and Crater Lake. Would definitely recommend stopping here.
What a lovely couple! They made us feel so welcome, and we enjoyed a lovely evening and an afternoon chat with them during our stay. Easy access for our 40-footer, and plenty of room to roam and enjoy the wildlife. We even got to see a doe and her two fawns right outside our door. We will definitely ask to stay again when we return to the area.
I love these folks! I had a very awkward arrival. I thought I was having a heart attack moments prior to my arrival and they weren’t home yet so I phoned them and told them what was happening. They immediately called some neighbors and their mother who drove down to help. After the EMTs verified that I wasn’t in critical danger the mother drove me to the hospital emergency which was 45 miles away. After waiting an hour and a half in the parking lot she drove back home waiting for my release and then returned to take me back to my RV. I offered gas money but she wouldn’t hear of it. The rest of my stay was equally generous. I was even invited to join my hosts for a neighborhood 4th of July backyard get together. I felt like I was a long lost friend. I hope we stay in touch.
This was our first Boondocking experience and Dalegrinols and his wife made it very enjoyable for us. They were so welcoming and made us feel like we were right at home but also gave us plenty of privacy. They allowed us to make a fire pit and even gave us some wood so we could make s’mores with our kids. Our dog had plenty of space to run around and was welcome to walk around off leash. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, and the water was delicious.
Dale greeted us when we arrived and helped us decide where to park. After letting us fill our fresh tank with well water, I proceeded to park. When I was done, I found a power cable set out so we could immediately fire up the AC ( it was 90 degrees that day). Hosts are thoughtful and gracious, and respectful of our privacy. We had opportunities to chat with them and greatly enjoyed getting to know them.
The site is nice, nestled among Ponderosa pines, and you can barely see the "neighbors" through the trees. Felt like we were parked in the middle of a forest, yet was easily accessible. If you like to ride a mountain bike, there is a network of dirt roads behind the property, you could probably ride for hours and not ride the same stretch twice!
La Pine is an outstanding base to go sight seeing. Not crowded like Bend or Sunriver, but within driving distance from Paulina Peak (lake and falls too), Fort Rock, Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, La Pine State Park and much more. I think we barely scratched the surface of things to do, and will definitely have to visit here again.
D&D - Thank you so much! Look forward to visiting your site again soon.
Beautiful property tucked away in the pine trees. Great hosts spent time answering my my questions on the area.
We were traveling home to Yamhill, Oregon during the COVID crisis. D & D were kind enough to still accept boondockers in their driveway. We stayed two nights before heading out for the last leg of a long journey from Texas. We had a lovely time visiting, while maintaining social distance, with D & D. They live in a very quiet neighborhood, it was a perfect location and stopover for two weary travelers. The best part is we made new friends. We hope to visit another time very soon.
What a great place for our first stay. The folks were really nice and welcoming. We highly recommend this host! Thanks!!!
An easy to access and roomy stopover location. Our host greeted us warmly and provided any required help and extra information we asked about. Use of wifi, power and generator was appreciated. Highly recommend!
We so enjoyed our wonderful stay and meeting Dale! He was so warm and welcoming and had such a beautiful place! What a wonderful first experience for us!!
A great place to stay. Sweet and nice people
Thanks for hosting us.
Asta & Arne Matzen
It was great to meet Dalegrinols and visit about places they have traveled and tell them of our travels. We enjoyed riding our bikes on the wooded dirt trails behind their home. They have very good tasting water and we filled our tank. Hope to visit with them again.
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Dand Ds place. we enjoyed visiting with them and learning more about RV'ing. Their property is very beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed walking in the forest behind their property. We look forward to having an opportunity to visit again soon
Dale was great, he helped my husband maneuver our trailer and chatted with us for a while about things to do and places to see. He even offered his canoe and kayak for us to use if we wanted AND offered to watch our dog for us! Wish we could’ve stayed longer than just the one night, we will definitely be back!
Friiendly, enthusiastic, helpful host. Thanks Dale (but we still think the ground squirrels are cute)
Had a very peaceful stay at Dalegrinols. There was only a short time to talk due to the holiday weekend, but I was offered all amenities and used the WIFI and that worked great. Dale was totally flexible with my dates and I could have stayed even longer. Looking very much forward to come back in the future, La Pine has some great outdoor places to go to, gym in town and a couple of stores you might need. All the best till then! :-)
Dale and Debbie were super accommodating and friendly. Made me feel completely at home and at ease. Property was quiet and peaceful within the tall pines. Will definitely want to stay again.
Debbie. Nice to have met you and chat. Many thanks for WiFi. Able to get a few things out of the way. 10 does that ambled by were "locals" according to Debbie and layup short distance away.
Sorry not to have met Dale. Certain we could have swapped some stories!
Our hosts weren't home but invited us to stay anyway. Also we are having some problem with the truck and Dale was freely offering to help us out with getting that resolved. Nice folks and peaceful location. Thanks to Dale's sister Vy who was house sitting for settling us in.
Jerry and Trudy
Dale is the kind of host you always hope to get - where you wish you had arrived earlier and could stay later just to chat. Getting in and out was not difficult. The area is stunningly beautiful. Thanks for hosting us, Dale!
This was an awesome spot to stop, the area was clean and very nice to park our coach. Although our host were not there they did make sure we had everything we needed and went out of there way to answer our questions about the area. We spend 3 days venturing out in the area to visit several parks and to visit the city of Bend. We greatly appreciated the opportunity to stay at such a nice place. We hope we have another chance to stop and visit.
We have finally decided to get back on the road but could have stayed here indefinitely. Our hosts treated us like family and we are grateful to have them as friends. We will be back!
Our hosts were gracious enough to allow us to extend our stay as our plans evolved. We are blessed to have met these folks and hope to meet up with them again soon.
Dalegrinols hosted my one night stay at their "Resort." It was a beautiful place and they couldn't have been friendlier. Very peaceful and restful. I would absolutely come back for another stay if I'm in the area. I loved the setting amongst the trees.
What a nice couple! A very warm welcome, a beautiful place, a lot of humor, nice conversation, very helpfull, tons of good tips!! We had a wonderful evening with both of them. If we are ever in the area again we will visit them, but longer. 👍
What a treasure! We are so thankful for our stay with Dale. Upon arrival he was there to greet us even though we were running late. He is such a kind hearted and fun guy and so accommodating. It is a beautiful piece of property with privledged amenities in the woods and we really enjoyed getting to relax and chat. We were sorry we missed his other half but we hope to come again someday, and they know they best stop by when they’re in our neck of the woods!
What a couple of kind and generous people. I had a great stay from the start.
There is no other way to say it... Double D are the coolest people. Like Fonzie cool.
Super welcoming, super accommodating and just over all GREAT people! And their pad is absolutely WONDERFUL. Big Beautiful pine trees everywhere in a nice and quiet area. And several deer came to visit us every morning. We knew that La Pine was going to be gorgeous, but this spot exceeded all of our expectations. We know we have just met new friends!
A gorgeous spot in the pine trees of LaPine. Our hosts first time with guests and with half of Double D missing we got introductions out of the way and fast become friends with the wonderful Debbie. The spot is amazing.. No need to unhook our tow vehicle, pulled around driveway and we were in. A quick evening chat turned into a 2 hour session with many laughs and everyone happy! Hope to reciprocate this summer.
We had a very quiet night. Hoping to see Double D in Montana this summer. This couple could not have been more hospitable.
