This is a 100 acre horse farm, so there's LOTS of freedom and privacy available. Pets are welcome as long as they're friendly and don't pester the horses. Off leash is at your own risk, parking area is 1/2 mile from 4 lane highway.
All paved. Turn off 4 lane highway onto single lane paved drive, 13' wide, please swing wide to avoid our mailbox. Right angle turn downhill at end to parking area, no problem for our Class A with toad.
We have a large level paved area that any size rig and trailer/toad can park on.
Y'all are welcome any time we're home, but the moss doesn't grow on our motorhome.
Watts Bar Lake boat ramp 2 miles. Scopes "Monkey Trial" museum 25 miles. Tennessee Valley Theater (community) 7 miles. Cumberland County Playhouse (professional) 40 miles. Swimming hole in White's creek 2 miles. Gas & diesel 1 mile. Propane 10 miles. Grocery 7 miles. Lots of hiking nearby.
We we're unable to meet at this members property due to storm coming in. We contacted member explaining our need continue traveling. They understood. I suggest our stay be credited to them as only thing missing was us.
I stayed a little longer than originally planned because there is much to do in the area. My host was exceptionally nice and helpful during the setting up process. I was parked between two airplane hangers and had full hookups. There is a very long runway of grass in which to walk my dogs and otherwise I was parked on concrete. I saw fireflies, horses and even a deer who eluded my camera! This is a solid site off the highway about halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga with lots of beautiful scenery in either direction.
I recommend this site and the hosts.
I was looking for a place to write a review of our stay with the 100 Akers. I guess this is it, don’t see anywhere else. Unfortunately we didn’t get to me Phil’s wife, but if she is anything like him, she must be amazing. Phil is one of the nicest, down to earth and most inventive guys I ever met. He tools us into his house (I should say castle) and have us the full tour. I don’t want to spill the beans and ruin a visit by others. Just be aware that this is not a normal house. It’s custom built and will take your breath away. The centerpiece though is Phil himself. We talked for hours about a variety of topics. I can’t imagine a more gracious host. If you go near his home and don’t attemp to book in for at least a night you’re making a big mistake
We had a fantastic time with Margie and Phil at the 100 Akre Horse Farm. The beautiful farm, the horses, the fun hike with Nash, their grandson, the amazing castle that Phil designed and built. We feel that they are wonderful host and hostesses. We are so excited to be able to enjoy Boondockers Welcome. We are making many new friends and having wonderful experiences.
Our stay with Phil and Margie couldn't have been better! We were traveling with our 2yr old and our golden retriever, and they were both welcomed without hesitation! Margie brought some of her grandchildrens toys down for our daughter to play with, which she loved! Our dog Harley made friends with one of the dogs on property and had a ball running all over the place! Margie and Phil are super friendly and welcoming, we can't wait to stop by again and hope to see them on the road!
We absolutely loved 100 Akers! The whole farm was beautiful. Our hosts were more than welcoming and accommodating. They even invited us right into thier home and shared some of the best imported cheese I have ever tasted! Thier horses were sweet and friendly too. This is a place you definitely want to check out if you are in the area!
