Parking in driveway of small cottage. Level and covered with pine straw. 30 amp service and water spigot. Area fairly shaded. Small, quiet neighborhood. Just minutes to the beach.
We are easy going people and expect the same from you. We would prefer you smoke only inside your rig (0r learn how to field strip) as we cannot abide cigarette butts on the ground. If you can't drink and act responsibly you will be invited to leave. Clean up after your dog.We are on a fixed income, and must ask for electric usage reimbursement- about $5.00 per day. Other than that, as long as you are kind and respectful we should all be fine and hopefully make great friends.
Straight, paved road.
Either right in front of rig (depending on length) in driveway or next to in front yard
The beach is just a few miles away with uncrowded beach. There are charter fishing boats for deep sea fishing. Or fishing from the ICW or beach ( license needed) There are many kayaking spots. There are 2 very unique places to visit but not so easy to describe. One is called "Mary's Gone Wild" Mary is a self taught artist who used various mediums. Her property continues to expand as she creates and evolves. She donates to feed hungry children around the world. The other is known as "Fort Apache" The main building is a thrift store, with everything from clothes and china to bed pans. There are antique cars and theater props. Around the back of the property they are building an old timey village, complete with general store, saloon, funeral parlor and other oddities. Nearby Southport, NC is a lovely day trip. And from Southport you are a ferry boat ride away from a NC Aquarium and historic Fort Fischer
Such kind folks! Their site was roomy and flat. They offered electricity and water. We had some delightful conversations about their years living on a sailboat and my 2 years full time rving. They were helpful with providing places of interest and Shelly Cat was lovely. My Max enjoyed checking out their yard and flowers. Highly recommend!
So nice to meet both Haila and Dave very interesting folk , great conversation and stories we hope they make it north to boondock with us , we meet as strangers , a leave as friends .
Hope they have as much fun as we do boondocking .
Thank you to our two kind hosts! They have been helping and good advice!
David and Haila were very kind and accommodating. They invited me in and chatted about their time living on a sail boat. Very nice folks. They accepted my stay with only a day's notice. I recommend them. They have a a nice, quiet and safe place to stay.
David and Haila are really great people who have had some interesting experiences to share. The spot was quiet and safe. We slept well. We hope this down to earth couple make out to visit us!
We were fortunate to spend the evening with these lovely hosts. The location is convenient, and Maila has us over for a very friendly tea before we left. Thanks again!
I had a great stay with David and Maila - an interesting couple who went out of their way to be helpful.
Awesome to meet you easy-going folks and hear a few of your cool travel experiences. Thank you so much for everything!!
We had such a lovely stay at Travelers' Cottage! Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and offered many recommendations for local sites, restaurants, and things to do. They are among the nicest, most down-to-earth folks you could hope to meet, and their location is quiet and convenient. Thanks again!
