Flat, five acres, without a lot of traffic, lots of wildlife and birds, vegetation is mesquites, yuccas, and whatever we have planted.
No pets running loose, quiet after midnight, be aware that rattlesnakes are found in the area. Chip in toward electricity if you run air or heat.
We are on a paved road with its own exit on I-10. Our several hundred feet of driveways are mostly gravel. The property is quite flat. There is a bit of a dip coming off the road.
Near the rig or elsewhere
Many wineries in our town. U-pick farms and orchards in season, national monuments and state parks reasonably near, and several museums.
We enjoyed our stay at this location. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable. The location has several sites to choose from with mountain views in every direction. The town of Willcox has all the basic amenities, and the surrounding area has numerous BLM and National Forest area to explore. There are two entrances off the road; one has a large dip and the other has a relatively narrow gate opening. Even so, we were able to get in with little difficulty.
Bill & Sara (and their pets) are very warm and welcoming hosts.
With several spots to choose from, we had a level, quiet place with electric and water. We enjoyed the many birds that visit, including the Great Horned owls and cranes.
Morning coffee and great conversation were added benefits. We would love to return on our way through in the future.
Thanks very much!
I enjoyed my stay at Nolan’s place but this time of year it was a tad cold. I only stayed two nights but it was a pleasant spot. The pair of resident owls were on duty as well as many other birds making my walks interesting. The Nolans were helpful hosts.
We had such a wonderful stay with the Nolans. We camped with them the week of Thanksgiving, and they graciously invited us for Thanksgiving dinner! They had both water and electric hook-ups for us to use, and with the nighttime temps in the upper 20's is was very nice to be able to run our little electric heater. Their home is perfectly located to visit the Chiricahua's and the Dragoons, as well as the Pinaleno Range north of Willcox. There are also several wineries in the area, so plenty of things to do within an hour's drive in any direction. And the highlight was having a pair of Great Horned owls watching over us from the trees above. Amazing! Such a wonderful, generous couple, we highly recommend staying at Nolans arcres! Thanks again Bill and Sara for a great week and a yummy Thanksgiving dinner!
Great host. This was our 1st Boondocker experience & 1st time camping in the Willcox area. The location was perfect for visting the local farms/orchards and access to Mt Graham area. The moonless night sky was impressive. They are friendly, easy going host & a wealth of knowledge. We were serenaded by coyotes & watched by the 3 resident great horned owls.
Bill and Sara were geat hosts. They have water and electricity hookups, and a nearby dump station. They graciously invited us to dinner, which we accepted. Had great food and conversation.
Their place is full of native wildlife and they improve the habitat regularly.
A great stay with great hosts.
Great hosts at the Oasis and comfortable place to stay.
Bill and Sara could not have made us feel more welcome! Sara fixed us a delicious breakfast (with fresh eggs from their own hens!) and they both entertained us with lively, informative discussions. They had plenty of room for our motorhome and have gorgeous views from their property. Each morning we enjoyed seeing the wildlife right outside our motorhome - rabbits, quail, kestrels, etc. When we left this morning it felt like we were leaving family!
