Welcome to Dog and Pony Show Farm. Your hosts are Brett and Tom. This is the childhood home and family farm of Brett. From about 1927 to 2000, this was a working dairy farm. Brett's father, sister and sister-in-law live just down the road. We now have 20 or more Draft Ponies on the farm. When Tom retired in 2017, he and Brett moved back to the farm and built a home. We are an 80 acre farm located 5 miles north of Utica, OH and 10 miles south of Mt. Vernon, OH. We have draft ponies which we show at various fairs in the area in the summer. We have RV parking in the driveway of our 60' by 40' pole barn. The driveway is approximately 40' by 80' so we can handle most any rig and parking for tow vehicle. The driveway is gravel. Water and 50 amp electric available. Fire ring overlooking creek and horse pasture, firewood provided by your hosts. Come and stay on the farm with us.
We just expect you to treat our property as if it were your own. Leave the spot as when you arrived.
Good paved road

This location is so pretty. Great location just outside of town. GREAT host. We would love stay here again if we are passing through again.
Great accommodations, generous hosts with various recommendations for local attractions. Thanks for hosting us!
I was welcomed by the hosts during a time when campsites were closed. Being totally self contained and at a distance, we felt it was safe. What a great spot! Beautiful views of rolling hills, ponies, farmland and open sky. Close to the road, but the road was generally very quiet. Easy to back into the gravel drive and utilize water and electric hookups. Hosts were even able to provide a 30-50amp adapter when I didn’t have one. Fire circle was available but I did not use it.
I was there three nights and able to visit with my sister. Priceless! Thanks guys.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at their farm, visiting with the draft ponies and dogs. What an amazing location, so quiet in the back country roads. About 45 min drive to Millersburg and Berlin you can experience the Amish.
They offered well water and electricity for the trailer and it was greatly appreciated. Parking is on a gravel driveway in front of the big barn next to the house. Easily parked my f150 supercab with 30’ TT.
I had experienced multiple delays on my trip due to extended high winds and losing a pet, to the point where I cancelled my first scheduled stay with The guys. They were graciously understanding and welcomed me to reschedule. I did so, which unfortunately precluded our being able to meet in person — we waved twice as they were driving away to previous commitments — and I’m truly sorry we weren’t able to spend any time together. I hope to do so on future travels, because their setup is great, easy to DIY if necessary, and their home and surrounding property are just beautiful. Thanks, guys!
Lovely, quiet evening in a rural setting. Met our very pleasant host and his Australian Shepherd who shared his family history in the area, and his draft pony activities. All connections are easily accessible, and our host made sure we were well situated. Woke to the ponies sidling up to the fence near our camping site. Definitely worth a stay for anyone traveling in that area of Ohio.
Wonderful stay at a beautiful farm. Hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Took us on a tour of the farm to visit the new colt.
a beautiful place to park and relax, sleeping was great because it was just so quiet. Host were very nice and kind, left a dogbone out just incase.
Beautiful location and easy to find. We only got to meet our host briefly due to the rain. Plenty of pluses only 1 minus, driveway is on slant and you need to be able to level your coach. Had beautiful sunrise on the day we left. Would definitely stay there again if we have the chance.
We had an amazing 5 night stay!
This is a beautiful location not far from a couple really cool towns. We visited the Ariel Park in Mt Vernon as well as the ice cream factory in Utica.
Our hosts were wonderful and we really enjoyed visiting with them! I can't leave out the fact that their dogs were adorable and loving.
And yes, the ice cream factory tour is totally worth the visit!
We're so grateful to our hosts for this visit!
What a delightful stopover on our way to the northeast. Brett and Tom went out of their way to make us feel welcome and right at home. The instructions on where to park were very clear. They gave us some printed information on what to see and do in the area, and we took full advantage of these opportunities. We got a chance to see their Draft Ponies and walk around their farm.
The camping site is wide enough that it is easy to back in with no problem. Everything here looks like it was manicured, and the sunsets are gorgeous. What a picture perfect setting. Highly recommend DogandPonyShowFarm. Must sees are a tour of the Velvet Ice Cream factory in Utica and a visit to Mt. Vernon to look around town and visit Ariel/Foundation Park.
Now, we just have to talk our hosts into coming to Georgia this winter for a visit.
My hosts were amazing. Hooked me up to 30amp and water. Gave me run down of area. I was just so tired and needed rest. They even invited me to cookout on memorial day but i was exhausted. Did love area and took very peaceful walks.
They also saved me with air compressor for a flat tire on my travel trailer.
Brett and Tom’s place was great. It was rather cold, so our conversation was brief and I wasn’t able to see much of the farm. Which was a bummer as it looked like a beautiful place.
Great stay and very helpful hosts!
Great folks. This was only our fourth Boondocker stay since joining. And like our first three visits at other locations, these guys were also great. We met some of the horses. Especially liked "Jill". And met the dogs as well. Great location. Quiet and serene.
A great place to stay...beautiful area, absolutely wonderful host. Parking is easy (back in the wide drive), water and 50 amp right there. Host had a list of area sites and resources...a great intro to the area. We will definitely stop again if we're in the area!
My wife and I were hosted at this location for 5 days beginning June 6, 2018. We were warmly welcomed and offered 50 amp electric plus water. Relatively easy to get to and our RV was safe for the entire stay. We offer our highest positive reference.
Brett & Tom were very welcoming. Communication was excellent as we worked out the details. The farm is awesome, very quiet country living. The dogs and ponies were a hoot. Love the place. Thanks so much.
This was our first Boondocking experience. Brett was so responsive to messages and even though they had a family emergency, the ensured that we had everything we needed. Great spot for a quick overnight and a wonderful break from the highway. Rolling hills with ponies meandering through the pasture. Thanks again gentlemen!
We really enjoyed the peaceful location. The horses were beautiful and very friendly. Our host was welcoming with good information about the area.
Took us back to the country way of life, farms all around. Enjoyed our stay and area recommendations not limited to the Ice cream.factory. of course had to do a taste test.
This is a beautiful area of Ohio with rolling hills. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and it was their first time hosting! It all worked out very well. They were great hosts and invited us in for a chat the night before we left. This is a family farm passed down through the generations and they are very proud of this heritage. We were thankful to have water and electric and lots of peace and quiet! Bring leveling blocks because the driveway has a slant to it. We were fine but our levelers were extended all the way out. Great place! Thanks so much!
