Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this host30+ acres property with woods and several fields. Gravel parking area next to old home that is no longer used. Several large fields for parking. Fields may be difficult for big rigs. Gravel parking area is big rig accessible. Turn around for big rigs may be difficult so probably best to back in. Property is located 10 minutes 5.5 miles off I 74/US 52 via the King, NC exit.
We do not live on the property but live about 10 minutes away if you need assistance.
Our property line runs diagonally through the field area behind the house. Please stay to the right of the fence if you park in the field behind the house.
Paved road to property. Gravel parking area as well as several fields.
Ample tow vehicle parking
Lots of woods for hiking or just relaxing. Several old tobacco barns on the property. Location is about 30 minutes to downtown Winston Salem. Pilot Mountain State Park is nearby as is Hanging Rock State Park
Such a lovely, spacious spot to park upontheridge as I visited friends in my old stomping ground! The dogs loved the freedom, as did I. Although I didn’t meet my hosts, communication was on point and they were available should I need anything. I’ll definitely stay here again when I have the opportunity.
This was our first boondockers welcome host so we weren’t sure what to expect. After a last minute change of route and not being able to find a campsite for the night we reached out last minute and got a quick reply accepting our stay. Because it was last minute, we arrived in the dark. Even though we didn’t have much trouble finding it due to the hosts great instructions, I would suggest coming in the daylight because we missed the house and had to loop back around. We loved this stay though. It’s tucked behind a house that no one was living in so there was plenty of privacy and a large area to find a level place to park in. We are so thankful for their generosity and will definitely be saving this for next time we are in the area. Thank you so much!!
We had a wonderfully, peaceful time at The Ridge! We were able to get our 42ft 5th wheel in the back yard, which was nice and level. It did rain most of the time while we were there and were still able to safely get out. Definetly be back when in the area!
Great place, quiet and convenient. Very happy with our stay!
Great quiet spot. Our very first BW experience and it was very positive!
We had a nice stay at this location. There is a large field in the back of the property but because of rain we didn't want to chance getting stuck maneuvering back there. We stayed on the gravel driveway next to an abandoned house, right alongside the road. Aside from road traffic, the location was quiet and private. We were also very close to the highway, Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and Hanging Rock, all of which we visited during our stay. We never met the hosts but he was quick to call back when we had a couple questions.
our rig is 31 feet and had no problems getting in behind the house. might be really tight for anything bigger.
Beautiful place very quiet at night.
This place was amazing! It was so peaceful and not far from the city. Thank you guys for letting us stay!
Absolutely LOVED this location!!! A step back in time with all the old country buildings. It was remote, but not too far from civilization, very peaceful and quiet. Our pups had plenty of room to run around and play. We drove out to The Tavern of Old Salem, the oldest business in Noth Carolina, for a couple of beers. We did spot a couple red wolves on the perimeter checking us out, but they never entered the field while we were out, as far as we could tell, and deer have definitely frequented this site. We'd love to come come back here!
Hosts were welcoming. They went out of their way to meet us and drive to the camping site. The parking area was
located in a partial field which was very remote. Definitely be fully prepared for a dry camping experience.
Great place for peace and quiet. Loved our stay here. Would stay here again.
This was our first stay using Boondockers Welcome and it was great! It was a very private location but not far from small shopping or from Wintston-Salem. We never met our hosts but they were quick to respond to our request. Thank you so much for giving us a great first experience with Boondockers Welcome!
Nice quiet piece of property with plenty of space. Our dogs enjoyed being able to play frisbee in the back field.
Didn't meet our hosts, didn't even get out of our van, but spent a great rainy afternoon/evening at The Ridge. Recommended if you're in the Winston-Salem area.
My visit to the Ridge was completed in a very satisfactory manner & even though I never met the Hosts, theyvwere very helpful!
Thank you,
Chuck

Quiet private location near Winston Salem NC. We parked on edge of a field on the shade. Couldn't be better. Thanks!
Our hosts were very communicative and friendly. We loved staying in their large yard so close to two amazing state parks. It was big, private, and quiet. We would highly recommend a stop here in Tobaccoville!
Great place to unwind after several days of traveling. Great place to walk my dog. Very quite and peaceful.
The hosts were away for the weekend, but their communications and directions were great.
We really enjoyed the stay. The field behind the house was solid and we had it to ourselves. Our Boxer Stella had a great field to run and chase her ball.
We will definitely request The Ridge if we get back to the area.
It’s nice to have somewhere nearby to stay that’s this flexible I will return thank you
To maybe it’s just field but to me it means so much more

I’ll be Bach 😎
