Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostBeing in a riverside community we have a community boat launch, fishing dock and pick-nick tables available on the water in common areas. We are a few blocks from the water on very high ground. Our location is heavily forested but our property is mostly cleared. We have a 20x20 pallet deck with lawn furniture and gas grill available for guests. There is an area that is fenced that a pet could be put in as long as they are chicken friendly.
I'd guess any rules we might have will develop as we experience guests. We would request that any smoking be done in your rig or in the ample public area that will be available including the pallet deck. Just don't leave butts around and stay away from our house and deck while smoking. Loud generators could be a problem so use should be no later than 8pm I'd guess. That is probably a case by case basis. Right now I don't see the need for any hard and fast rules about departure. If everyone (host and guest) is happy I'd expect some might like to stay a day or two and fish or just be off the road and relax for awhile in a safe place.
The subdivision has fairly narrow blacktop streets. We have never had a problem getting our Class A to our property. I don't anticipate any problems.
Parking should not be a problem for most rigs and tow vehicles. We have a long wide drive for larger rigs and two extra driveways for vans or tow vehicles if we need them.
We sold this place in 2019 and are keeping it active so we can use our host credits.
Within 3 miles we have a few great eating places and a small grocery and the all important Dollar General where you can buy pretty much anything. Within 15 miles is Huntsville, TX which offers most of the big Restaurants including some great Mexican places (my favorite). There you can also find most of the big box shopping places as well as an RV repair shop. There are also museums, Sam Houston State University and beautiful parks. Sam Houston State Park is very close as is Lake Livingston. There is also an Indian Casino about an hour from us which is a beautiful drive and they have an RV camp ground in the woods on a small lake which is beautiful. The Escapees Club is in that general direction as well.
These Boondockers have truly taken things to a new level :) with 50amp, water, dump point and now your very own luxury deck to relax on ! We just wish we could have stayed with you longer to enjoy the facilities - Thank you guys
We enjoyed our stay. Thanks for welcoming us as we are beginning to learn the RVing experience. We sought this opportunity to learn about our rig and our planning needs and were successful. Your location is inviting and comfortable.
Eager to get into the experience of boondocking, we scheduled a visit with Neal and Sun. After requesting a stay, we got a fast and positive response. Weather concerns caused us to need to delay our arrival by a day and they were very understanding about that. We arrived in the afternoon and set up our camper, then visited with them. It was a very pleasant visit and was good to meet new friends.
Thanks, guys, for hosting us. All the best to you!
Once again Neal & Sun kindly welcomed me to their homestead and made me feel welcome & comfortable. Such compassion & kindness, feel privileged to stay and meet such Texas Treasures!!! Much Appreciated!
From a FULL hook up )20,30 & 50 amp, water & sewer) to country setting, the Warmest Welcome and multiple kindnesses, Neal & Sun created a oasis for themselves and their guests. They have a large shaded deck with table & multiple chairs and a gas BBQ Grill right next to their boondock site. They are new RVers and plan to travel more in the near future. They have a few small dogs so welcomed by furry companion to join their pack in a fenced yard. (They also have the place next door for sale, their original domicile) with another large fenced area with some beautiful red hens. They allowed me to use the full bathroom And laundry in the house4sale! Incredibly kind, interesting, sociable if guest desires engagement. After hooking up, they helped me back in, I walked the dog around their area. Neal & Sun's home is a little pocket oasis, surrounded by country roads with older or abandoned mobile homes. As they are newly retired, they & a friend, were mostly around and I felt very welcome & safe. They even invited me to dinner the first night! Since I had been driving long hours the preceding week (with no tow car) I thoroughly enjoyed parking for 2 nights and just relaxing. Sitting on their back porch visiting with them or on the side deck, listening to the birds singing, their hens clucking or the few goats across the street was a wonderful respite from the road. (Also offered use of ther WIFI, available on their porch.) Neal and Sun made me feel like family and I plan to stay in touch with such great new friends!
