Have you stayed at this host location?
We are located a short distance south of Saskatoon on a large acreage/hobby farm. There is a dump station nearby which charges a fee. Not far from us is a shopping centre with a variety of stores and restaurants including Walmart, Sobeys, Home Depot, Dollarama, etc. Also in the area are Co-op, Petrocan and Esso gas stations.
No smoking on the property. No running generators after 10 pm.
There is pavement to our yard, then a short packed gravel road to where you will park. The parking area is on grass. If you have a larger rig you will need to disconnect your tow vehicle and do some careful backing up to get turned around to park for the night. Leaving the yard you can then drive straight out. Each fall we have semi trucks pulling trailers loaded with bales coming into and leaving our yard with no issues so any size motorhome should not be an issue.
We live on an acreage with a large yard. Lots of room to park.
Space may be available May 1 to September 15. We often travel on short notice or have other commitments so not all dates are available. Feel free to check if space is available.
Lots to see and do in Saskatoon. It's a beautiful city with a river park running through it with lots of walking and bike trails. There are a variety of art galleries, museums and there is even a kids park with a small ferris wheel and train. Saskatoon has more than 40 annual summer events including art and music festivals. We are 20 minutes from one provincial park and a hour away from another, both with nice lakes. Prince Albert National Park is about a 2.5 hour drive. Let us know your interests and we'd be happy to give you advice on what to see and do.
We are so grateful to our Maplewood Farm hosts for making our 1st Boondockers experience a very heartful, restful one. Thank you!!!
It was a great place to stay. We had a good talk about life and living in Canada. They offered us a place in the shadow and electricity. Thanks for the delicious eggs. We wish them good health.
Excellent stay. The hosts came and welcomed us upon our arrival and showed us where to set up and where the aminities were. We had several very interresting conversations and our host even gave us a printed list of things to do in Saskatoon and locations for dump sites in the area. This a very nice place to stay with lots of room. It is without hesitation that we recommend this site to other boondockers.
Thank you so much Maplewood for hosting us for two days.
