I live at the edge of a national forest. It is not uncommon to see 10 deer grazing in the back yard. It is a very quiet neighborhood. Water and Electric available. Patio table, chairs, and BBQ available on porch. Propane refill available on property. If your rig is bigger, contact me to discuss. We may be able to accommodate you. Trash receptacle is on property. Verizon Cell Data is 2/5 bars here inside, 3/5 outside.
No smoking due to propane on the property.
Quiet hours 9pm-9am due to neighbors.
Small noise suppressed generators are allowed. (like the honda 2000).
Pets are allowed, but there is no fence, so be responsible.
Please clean up after your pets.
Easy access from I-20 and LA Hwy 159. I have a paved driveway. Depending on your size, you may be able to pull thru park. If rig, is too large, you may be limited to backing in. I can assist if needed.
Paved Drive and also backyard parking available.
German Colony Museum; Caney Lake Recreational Area; Kisatchie National Forest; Downtown Historic Minden; Dorcheat Museum, Hunting, Fishing, Shooting Sports, Hiking, Biking, Numerous restaurants in area.
We requested to stay at Germantown colony for one night as we were passing through the area. Although our host was not going to be home, he still answered and said it was fine to stay.
We found the property easily and backed into then spacious driveway with no problem at all.
Our host was also kind enough to offer electric and water if needed.
We went for dinner in town and met some very friendly locals in their 'Cheers' bar (El Jimador-Mexican restaurant)
The location is a safe, quiet neighborhood.
Thanks again for your generosity!
Dusty is a pilot for hot air baloons! My favorite. Beutiful quiet yard..deer came in at night. Nice easy stay. Thanks. Linda.
We had a great stay at this Boondocker site. Even though he was at work a lot of the time we stayed, Dustin was in constant communication with us and offered anything and everything we needed to have a great stay. It was a lovely community that we enjoyed walking around between raindrops. We also met Dustin’s mother, a lovely lady who stopped several times and even brought us farm fresh eggs.
Where do we even start? Dustin is the cream of the crop. You couldn't ask for a better stay, than what we got in Minden. Dustin replied almost instantly to our inquiry about staying with him. He waited for us to show up, even though we showed up later than planned. He accommodated every want and need we could think of. He gave us the guided tour of Minden. He told us all the best spots to check out, and eat. He invited us in for dinner, and showed us what he's all about. We felt like we were treated like family. We showed up as strangers and left as friends. We will definitely stop by again. They don't make them any better than this.
