House Rules

Pets are great but note Sharon is allergic. Don't stress about pet waste kindly toss it in the bushes where we won't step in it. Keep them on a leash (unless you can trust them to not run away), and NO SMOKING on the property. There is new high-speed fiber-optic internet. We are both fully vaccinated! We enjoy socializing but are still socially distancing. We like talking at the dock or around a campfire. There are many places for kids to roam and have fun but please STAY WITH KIDS under 10, especially at the dock. There are several trails to stretch your legs. Take trash with you as we have to pay for every bag we dispose of. Safe Travels and hope to meet you soon.

Location

Access Road Conditions: LOOK FOR ORANGE CONE AT THE END OF OUR DRIVE! Our drive is a half-mile gravel lane with a slight incline at the entrance, this could cause problems with longer rigs hitting. We have 'hosted a 40' class A with a flat tow, and a 40' gooseneck. The 40' gooseneck seemed to rub lightly coming in. You will have to judge your driving/backing skills. It has been done with long vehicles. You should use the oncoming traffic lane to turn into the drive. If needed cheat over on the grass by the cone/mailbox. Owners do need to watch for low limbs when going down the drive. Use caution when going around the dam. When we have snow, it is extremely hard to get down the lane and reservations may have to cancel. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Parking will not be a problem, but turning around might when towing. Might want to unhook. A tow vehicle can be parked anywhere in the drive. Do not block other vehicles. The drive is a gravel lane and winter weather can cause problems, esp if there is snow. Park in between the orange cones in front of the garage double doors and you will be level.

Age:

55-65

Retired couple living in the country. Details: Sharon, a retired school teacher, and Todd a retired funeral director and contractor: both enjoy hosting house concerts, biking, hiking, and traveling when they can. Their home sits on 26 secluded acres with a small pond in front of the house. In warmer weather, there is an outside hot shower and flush toilet you are welcome to use. This is the perfect getaway for anyone traveling. We have a 30 amp hookup for a requested $10 a night. Please do not plug up if you do not plan to give this donation. We have had far too many people running their air continuously and not offering to pay anything. We have water but be aware it is well water. Home Town: Scottsburg, Indiana Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have only boondocked a few places but look forward to more when we are out of the pandemic. Skills or Expertise to Share: Todd has hiked the 58 mile KT (Knobstone Trail) which is only five miles away and can provide details about current trail conditions. Knowledge of Louisville, Ky, and popular places to visit.

This was our first ever boondockers stay and let me tell you, it exceeded our expectations in every way! Todd & Sharon communicated well and are the most gracious hosts. They have a beautiful property and are so excited to share it with you. There is a lot of wide open areas for our dogs to explore off leash and they have the cutest little fairy gardens, bird houses, and twinkle lights by the pond…I could go on & on about the property. But the best part was Todd & Sharon themselves, they were willing to hang out by the pond and tell us stories about their lives as we shared stories about ours! The parking was level and electrical hook up was easy.

This was our second stay and we loved it once again. Todd and Sharon are excellent hosts and have a beautiful property. We would have stayed a third time on our way back to Florida but they were booked.
