Secluded 26 acres with a pond. Close to Louisville, Ky (29 miles) We have an outside shower (with curtain and hot water that can be used if needed when the temp is above freezing. Our Boondockers have enjoyed it. We also have an outhouse with running water/sink and a flush toilet. (of course not in freezing weather) We do have a place for a campfire and guests are very welcome to use it. We do not have a fenced-in area for dogs, but if you want to let them run, that's up to you. We do have well water we cook and bath with, but we do not usually drink it.
During the COVID-19 travel advisory, we reduced our stay length to one night. If you are needing an overnight stay on the way to your destination, we will be glad to accommodate you.
No pets on the deck or near the house (Homeowner is allergic) or in the lake. Guests must clean up after them and keep on a leash. (unless you can trust them to not run away), NO SMOKING on the property. Respect the owner's privacy in that we do live in a glasshouse. No, use of personal WIFI for streaming but can use to check messages etc. We have limited internet service, cannot even watch Netflix.
Take all trash with you.
LOOK FOR ORANGE CONE AT THE END OF OUR DRIVE! Our drive is a half-mile gravel lane with a slight incline at the entrance, this could cause problems with longer rigs hitting. Our 28 foot was ok. Owners do need to watch for low limbs when going down the drive. Use caution when going around the dam. When we have snow, it is extremely hard to get down the lane and reservation may have to cancel.
Parking will not be a problem, but turning around might when towing a very long trailer. Tow vehicle can be parked anywhere in the drive. Do not block other vehicles. The drive is a gravel lane and winter weather can cause problems, esp if there is snow.
Park in between the orange cones in front of the garage double doors and you will be level.
Madison, Clifty Falls, Spring Mill, Indiana (20 miles), Louisville Ky (Kentucky Derby, Thunder Over Louisville, etc), Big Four Walking Bridge over Ohio in Jeffersonville, IN. Knobstone Trail (48-mile rugged hiking trail only 5 miles away) Medora Covered Bridge has a longest covered bridge in US, (50 miles away) and many many more.
We stopped in with very short notice and the hosts were very accommodating, as usual. Although it was just a one night stay, we had a very nice time. We hope to be able to stop through again in the future. Thank you!
Not only the property was such a delight to visit but also the host and hostess are very warm and welcoming. Look forward to a return visit. Morning coffee on the pond deck was a great send-off thank you
We had a wonderful overnight stay in this little bit of heaven in Indiana. Our hosts were super warm, friendly and hospitable. We loved our good talks, fishing in the adorable pond, and fabulous outdoor shower. We hope to return again and would love to see our hosts on Cape Cod sometime.
This is a beautiful property and haven. The hosts were really pleasant, welcoming, and respectful of Covid precautions. We came in late and left early unfortunately and weren’t able to utilize all of the awesomeness around. We’d definitely stop here again!
Wonderful, quiet and secluded location. beautifully landscaped property with all the amenities well worn travelers appreciate: from electric outlet , flat parking and a hot outdoor shower to boot! Appreciated the warm welcome, the glass of wine and a coffee in the morning!
Could I possibly have any complaints? Well, just one; please don’t feed the fish just before we come because all I got Was a nibble,,, lol.
The hosts are super sweet. Unfortunately we arrived last minute and had to leave early to get our generator repaired. BTW they know the dealer we went to and gave them a great review for us.
Reflections “Welcoming you from a safe distance!” set cones out to help us find their location, a thoughtful touch even though it wasn’t hard to find. They met us on arrival and guided us into the parking location. A very kind and friendly couple, they offered another night stay if needed and offered their wifi so we could plan the next stop on our journey. They graciously gave us fresh picked produce and suggested taking their peddle operated paddle boat on the pond in their beautiful yard. We took advantage of both; the paddle boat was a great time and quite therapeutic. Cucumber and tomatoes were delicious! We were also offered the use of their outdoor shower house and electric hookup. We passed on the shower (though it did look nice and we were tempted) but did use the electric hookup. Our hosts met us in the morning as we were preparing to depart and again offered additional time at their property. We are so grateful for their kindness and good hearts! This seems to be a wonderful town as well. This was just such an awesome stay we would love to come back again!
Wow, what a beautiful place! The pond, the paths, the trees and meadows, everything was just spectacular! Our family so enjoyed the paddle boat and the hammock, a roaring campfire, and beautiful stars all around us. SharonandToddStewart were the best of hosts, making us feel at home while maintaining social distance. If you stay here, you will not regret it. We hope to make it back here again sometime.
We were greeted and help to park. Got a tour of their amenities to included a outside shower with running water and an outhouse with running water.Enjoyed afternoon ride on their nice pontoon paddle boat and many hours of conversation. Thank you for a restful night.
Todd and Sharon were absolutely incredible hosts, and the pictures of their property simply don’t do it justice. We arrived later than expected due to my confusion about time zones, and were so happy to pull up onto their property and see Todd and Sharon leisurely paddling their Paddleboat on their pond. We were welcomed with “Hello, new friends,” and that became true very quickly!
We only stayed for one night, but we had an incredible social-distance visit with them that none of us wanted to end.
We took their Paddleboat out more than once and fished in their pond several times. We will absolutely be back and have already been in touch via text/Facebook since our visit.
We travel through Indiana often and are so excited to have found such a beautiful, friendly place to stay. When my husband and I left, I told him that we just met our future retired selves on our dream future property. 😂
Can not recommend Reflections enough!
The Stewart’s were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Their property is gorgeous, we loved walking the trails with our dogs and our daughter enjoyed the outdoor activities. We woke up to a calming rain among the trees and enjoyed the conversation with Sharon and Todd. When passing through Scottsburg we’d love to stay again!
What a beautiful place and friendly hosts! Gorgeous surroundings are even better with such a welcoming couple! Thanks for everything! I would really like to go and spend more days next time!
Although we never actually met our hosts in person, (they were away for the weekend) we discovered through texting that we have a lot in common. Sharon and Tod were most generous to allow us to stay even tho they weren’t there. They provided detailed information on finding their place in the dark and then how best to situate our fifth wheel on the property. We wish we had more time to spend here on this pretty spot and to get to know the hosts further. We hope they will stop and see us in Michigan if they have the opportunity to head North.
Once again Sharon and Todd make you feel at home away from home. Kindest people and giving to friends family and visitors.
Sharon and Todd are awesome hosts. They are really more than just host their friends and have tons of experience that they love to share. Their home is nestled in a lovely Forest setting overlooking a beautiful pond. we spent several hours sitting out around the fire chatting about life traveling and our families. This is the second stay for us and we love coming to see these folks.
Sharon & Todd are the best hosts we have had the privilege of meeting.
They made it easy to find their location and helped me get situated. Then since it was so cold and windy, they invited us to have some Chili soup with them which was wonderful. We then a very good conversation with them.
The next morning they invited us to follow them to Louisville for a radio station’s live music experience. We enjoyed it very much.
I cannot imagine any hosts being more hospitable than Sharon & Todd. We hope to see them again in the future and hope they come to visit us sometime in Iowa.
We rolled in about 7:30 and was greeted by our lovely hostess. She showed us where the outdoor shower was and was absolutely the most gracious hostess anyone could ask four. This is truly a five star Boondockers paradise.
These hosts were the best people you might ever meet. They were working hard in a project so we didn't see much of they. But they stayed in contact with us all the time incase we needed anything. They went out of their way to make our stay the best it could have been. And I have to say this stay was better then any place I could have imagined. Peaceful, Beautiful, Quiet. Yes it is a beautiful place to stay and the hosts are a absolutely great couple. The drive in will take your breath away. I couldn't believe we were really going to stay at such a wonderful place. 100 stars.
My wife and I had an exceptional experience here on our second time using Boondockers Welcome. The surroundings were over the top, exceeded only by the hospitality of Todd and Sharon. We certainly hope we have the opportunity to visit with them again. Such a fun and unique experience overall. A deep and heartfelt thanks to our hosts.
I could not of asked for better hosts or boondocking area! Absolutely beautiful surroundings with a private pond and deck. They welcomed me with open arms and helped out with suggestions on what to do around town, how to avoid traffic, and history about the area. These are some great folks, with an amazing location, and I highly recommend them! Hope our paths cross again. Wonderful boondocking expericence! Thanks for having me.
See my other posting, this host location is fabulous and Tidd and Sharon are great hosts!
I had a wonderful stay at Sharon & Todd’s hidden paradise. Quiet secluded and a safe location to leave my pet Danni in my RV while I attended the Kentucky Derby only 30 miles away.
I saw Blue Heron, a huge turtle and fell asleep to the wonderful noises of the forest.
Sharon & Todd shared their pondside dock and annevening campfire with me the night I arrived. I even took advantage of their outside shower which was fabulous!
I really enjoyed my stay and hope to be able to return again. i have definately found 2 more new friends. I had a great stay.
Oh and the Kentucky Derby was awesome too!
Thanks Sharon & Todd!
I spent two days parked next the host's little pond with a lovely lawn and blooming dogwoods. The host put out a cone to mark the turn into their driveway, and cones to help me back up properly into where I was supposed to park. They were very accommodating and friendly, but my naps kept timing for when they were about so we didn't get to chat much. They mentioned when they were going out so it would be most convenient to use the outdoor shower. Thank you so much for hosting me!
A beautiful site to set up for the night I took pictures to show our friends because I knew they would be so envious with our boondocking experience. Our host welcomed us like old friends. They were fun and interesting to listen to as we sat on their deck in the evening. The setting couldn't have more perfect and I not only recommend this host but hope to go back some day.
Fabulous hosts. Total tranquility. Enjoyed the herons in the treetops and the glass of wine under the twinkle lights by the pond. Great conversations. We would highly recommend Sharon & Todd's little piece of heaven. We give it a 12 out of 10.
Sharon and Todd were fantastic hosts. They communicated often before the trip updating us on weather conditions and details we needed to easily find their property. Once we arrived they helped us park and get settled. Afterwards they had a wonderful dinner ready. We stayed the evening sharing stories. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
This is the best couple ever! They treated us like family. Our stay with them was one of the highlights of our trip. Wish them all the best.
With all kidding aside we had a amazing visit with Sharon and Todd.. their house perched at the top of the dam is an amazing view and reflection off the water. We had the opportunity to have a meal with them and enjoy their Fellowship. We certainly hope that we meet up with him and travel together. Their knowledge other area and experience with their travels with so much fun. Don't miss out on the stay with these folks. Thanks so much you guys hope to see you sometime soon #noplanvan #bestfriends1976
This was our 2nd time "boondocking" . . . . . We were greeted the moment we arrived. They helped my husband back the trailer into the camping spot for the night. Their place was beautiful. They were wonderful hosts and invited us to an outdoor fire, chili dogs, mac n cheese and s'mores. We had a great time. Thanks you for being such great hosts and hopefully our paths will meet again!
Sharon and Todd are really nice down home couple with a beautiful property. I stayed only 1 night no problems and Sharon made me a bagel with egg and cheese sandwich to go with coffee, very sweet thanks guys.
SharonandToddStewart were very hospitable and accommodating during our stay. Their site for hosting is a little slice of heaven! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our evening visiting with the hosts. We would love to come back, and, you are more than welcome to stay with us when you are back up north! Mark and Teresa
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Todd and Sharon. They welcomed us and our two kids with open arms. All their facilities exceeded our expectations and we took a swim in the pond and shared a special dinner together. Their home is beautiful and close to sights to see and experience. Our trip was memorable and a time our family continues to talk about as a highlight of our trip.
