Narrow driveway, spot under trees, our three slides work well here including canopy. Home is on Rainy Lake, although site would be in back of house. You are welcome to sit on the deck to lake, use kayaks if you desire. Voyageurs National Park a 10 minute drive by car or boat.
Generator must be the quiet kind, pets must be friendly and must pick up after pets. We pump lake water for watering grass etc, you are welcome to that, but we have a well, so can’t fill from that. 15 amp power is mainly for emergency....no turnaround in driveway, must back in.
Blacktop two lane county road, must back into driveway about 500, we do this with our 5th wheel.
On property, close to rig.
Spot avaiable only June through Sept, possibly Oct....we travel some during the summer, so won’t be around at all times... we do like to stay home during our short summers.
Rainy Lake, Kettle Falls Resort, Island tent camping in the park. Canada 7 miles to town, then across the Rainy River. Paper mill tour...
Easy to find. Super friendly host. Had prepared points of interests for the area and emergency information on a hand out which was very nice and helpful. Host offered for us to sit and enjoy their nice lake front.
Very friendly hosts. This was a great place to stay super close to Voyageurs NP. We would love to stay again with more time to enjoy the area. Thanks Robbiejean!
We could have stayed and visited for a week and not ran out of conversation! We hope to stay again on a future trip!
What a beautiful place! My hosts were so hospitable despite the rain. When the rain stopped I really enjoyed sitting on the boat dock.
I was also given a guide to local places to get any necessities.
Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Our hosts were most gracious in sharing their beautiful property on Rainy Lake. We are lake people too so we really appreciated the lovely view from the dock and the quiet woodsy spot to park our rig.
We had a really nice stay at Rainy Lake. Their place is very pretty, on a nice lakefront property. They were kind to offer sitting on their dock, which we did when we had lunch when we got there. Communication was great, and they also had a list of things to do in the area, and recommended places. The location is perfect for visiting Voyageurs.
It’s a lakeside property on a peninsula. Our 32’ Class C fit perfectly in their spot and they let us park the tow vehicle next to the rig. It created an area that felt like ours since we were able to have our dog rest on the grass. They were very warm and welcoming. They offered that we could enjoy sitting at the end of their dock. We took advantage of that to feel the breeze and look out into the lake. Our dog especially liked the ducks swimming by and took an unexpected launch off the dock to try to make friends with them. They also provided an information sheet that was really helpful to find out what’s around them and especially because it included info about a nearby dump and water refill station which we used after our stay. We really enjoyed staying with them.
We went to check in and due to the wildfires west of town it was very smoky. when we talk to them they were very understanding that we didn’t want to stay there as I was having trouble breathing in the heavy smoke.
The hosts are absolutely incredible people! So accommodating and friendly. Their property is beautiful and Rainy Lake is a wonderful place! So glad I came here and so grateful for their hospitality!!!
beautiful place, host was really nice, they offered there kayak to go out into lake :)
My stay was awesome. Like meeting new old friends. Hosts were great. Was invited to pontoon ride to Sha Sha for dinner. And always had company to sit on end of Dick to talk. Great part of lake for kayaking. Hope to be back!
We were delighted to have the chance to stay at Rainy Lake. We were a little ahead of our schedule, I messaged robbiejean and was told come on over. We were greeted upon arrival and the Mr helped my husband get parked. Unfortunately they had family commitments and we weren't able to visit together. We left 1 day early as the heat started and we don't have a generator for AC. We were able to see the visitors centers at Voyageurs. Especially great location if you've got a boat.
Such a beautiful and comfortable spot. We enjoyed spending time with Robbie and Rick and we were so impressed with their hospitality!
Robbiejean has a great spot close to Voyageurs National Park. Very kind hosts in a beautiful area.
Robbiejean rolled out the red carpet for me even before my scheduled arrival. I was supposed to get to their spot on June 19 but they knew I was in the area 5 days earlier so they said “Come on over now if you want”… So I did😃
Day 1 included happy hour, Robbie’s delicious homemade pie and a boat ride on their beautiful lake. Two other HH travelers were there during my stay and we all became fast friends and ended up hanging out and then caravaning together for a few days. I cannot say enough about Robbiejean‘s hospitality, they are lovely people and I fully intend to stay in touch with them-and not just for a place to stay. Thank you!😘
These lovely hosts have such a stunning property and they are two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. They took us on a gorgeous boat ride and allowed us to borrow their kayaks for a spin around the lake, plus we enjoyed happy hours on the patio and so much more! Can’t thank these hosts enough and we will definitely be back if we’re in the area again.
It would be impossible for me to relate how wonderful my time has been with the hosts of Rainy Lake.
Story after story of fantastic lives lived in Northern Minnesota and the recent years RVing in warmer western states.
The spot they provided me was top shelf, super dark and quiet. An infinite number of thumbs up and a thousand and one thanks for a memorable stay.
Rick was great, super responsive yet chill. Thanks Rick
Yet another great Boondockers Welcome experience! They offered me a list of things to do and places of interest as soon as I got settled in. They brought me out some cookies and also gave me a hand made mask. They're very generous hosts! The weather wasn't cooperative for a boat ride, but visiting with the hosts and being able to have coffee on their dock was priceless! I highly recommend staying at On Rainy Lake if you find yourself in the area. I can't wait to go back again!
They met me out in the driveway in the pouring rain and helped me back in. Beautiful place. Really nice people. They left me a care package of tomatoes and a cucumber when I left. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Thank you so much.
Situated right on the lake. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
We had an amazing tay with Rick & Robbie!
They hosted our family in their beautiful lake front property and were such an amazing hosts!
Our 36ft motorhome fit without a problem on the left side of the garage. They helped us park, and allowed us to enjoy their amazing space including their deck looking out the water, the boat dock where my kids & I were able to swim and even take their kayaks out to the water! Rick also took us on a ride in his boat and showed us around! It was such an amazing experience and we are so thankful!
Thank you again Rick & Robbie for your hospitality and for opening your home to RVers
The hosts are two of the nicest people you could meet. We really enjoyed getting to know them. Great tips for scenic areas to explore as well as restaurants to try. The highlight for us was getting to see a portion of Voyageurs National Park from the water!
