They were great host. We did not have alot of time together due to schedules but did have great conversation when were where together.
The spot was very level. They offer full hookups. They even offered us to use there laundry equipment.
Very peaceful location with very minimal traffic.
As some of the other said you will need to ensure you are careful when entering the driveway. It is very doable but slow and steady a must. Read the host instructions and you should have no problem.
Thank you so much
This is an awesome place. If you like off the beaten path in the woods, this is a 10! And only second to the wonderful hosts! They were so sharing with information, we totally enjoyed our evening we spent with them. Definitely a great stay!
The HatchPad was very accommodating during a great deal of difficulty with logistics and deliveries causing us delays. They are easy going and very pleasant to hang out with. They provide a good and stable pad to park on with shore power and water hookups. Sewer hook-up is still undergoing construction, but can accommodate a sewer dump as necessary. Overall, a very nice stay in the peaceful surroundings of rural Mississippi.
The site came with full hookups, which is a great relief after a few days of boondocking! Solid gravel makes it easy to drive. Making it in the driveway with a 40ft motorhome is a bit of a squeeze, but that's what makes life fun! Don't do it if you're a novice driver.
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet our hosts, as we were working late. Thanks again for opening up your property and offering full hookups!
Got to love those quick responses within 15 minutes. After a 70 mile bicycle ride on the Trace we were ready for some quiet downtime and we got it at the Hatches Pad. Everything you could possibly need was generously offered. Thank you very much guys.
TheHatchPad was a great place to rest from the road. I wasn’t able to meet the hosts but their hospitality was greatly appreciated.
It was a perfect spot for us to park our RV and visit this part of Trace. Rained most of time we were there and our host's were working so we did not get to visit much. They were very gracious and let us use their ladder, laundry.and gave us some advice on area. If you are willing to drive a couple hours Vicksburg made a great day trip.
So nice of you guys to set up space for others. I hope we'll have a chance to swing back your way after all this over so we can sit out together in that nice little area you set up.
Be well and thank you!
The Hatchpad is a great site with full hookups. Easy to find, following the hosts excellent directions, just off of the Natchez Trace.
Enjoyed our short conversation about traveling and other stuff.
Will definitely request again when passing through and highly recommend to others.
We stayed at TheHatchPad last October and were greeted by our Hosts and given a very warm welcome. Their place is wonderful with full hookups. They requested nothing for the use of their facilities but we at least got them a gift card to go out and enjoy a meal together. I highly recommend a stay if your in the area.
This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Hatch Pad and enjoyed it very much. The host has everything you need for a enjoyable visit. The nights are quiet and you can get plenty of rest. The Nacthez Parkway is very close to the site.We didn't
Have much time to visit, due to Christmas and Covid.
We really appreciate the generous hospitality of the Hatchpad folks. They offered all the comforts of home and we had a great visit there.
We had the pleasure of staying here one night though wish it could have been more. Very nice host with nice location with hook ups. Followed the directions for backing up into spot and couldn't have been easier. Would definitely stay here again!
We didn't actually get to meet the hosts, but our visit was nice. The location is nice and quiet. We were also able to do some laundry which was very nice since we are full timers.
Friendly and helpful. Even backed up our trailer for my inexperienced greenhorne self. Quiet cozy and accommodating.... Thanks
Our hosts were just fantastic! They gave us local info that helped and were the nicest folks you’ll ever meet.
Very nice site and although the back in drive looked scary at first - we had no problems getting our 40’ class A in easily. Follow the instructions provided by the host!
We had a wonderful relaxing time during our stay. The property was quiet, well kept and very peaceful. The spot was spacious and accommodating. Appreciate the hospitality!
We had a great stay. The Hatchpad has everything you need...even did a load of laundry! We never did get to chat with our hosts as they were busy as were we. But it is clear that they care about their guests as they have provided such great amenities!
The HatchPad is a great location off of the Trace and the hosts are very friendly. Mismatched schedules prevented us from getting to know them better but we were very pleased with our stay. FHU's are a huge blessing. Thank-you for sharing your property with us.
Wow full hookups! Very nice people only got to see them a few minutes though due to the rain and early departure. Would definitely stop again!
It was fabulous to have full hookups and access to wash clothes.
I don't have the words to express my gratitude and appreciation for the time we spent with these hosts.
The host went out of his way to spend the daylight hours of our stay helping us with repairs on our motorhome that we weren't planning on fixing anytime soon. He took time to teach us so many things we didn't know about full-time RV life and maintenance.
The couple is super kind and welcoming and we are extremely happy to have met them and hope to maintain a lifelong friendship.
These folks are the nicest we've met in the south! They're above and beyond accommodating with electric, water and sewer hookups. They also let us use their washer and dryer! 5 out of 5 star rating for this couple!
Southern hospitality in a hatch.
We had a wonderful stay here at the hosts site, the laundry and hookups were Very appreciated and we won't forget that, we will hopefully be back at some point to spend more time when better circumstances for us arise :) Thanks again!
This was our first time out in our new rig - this was our shake down trip. This was a quiet location to test our systems - and most importantly - super friendly hosts!
Great stay with this nice couple! Friendly and helpful with plenty of good stories about RV life! Hope to cross paths again!
Beautiful quiet spot just off the Trace!
Couldn’t have asked for more! Hosts very friendly and lots of stories of RV life! Thanks for a great stay!
My wife and I had a wonderful time with friendly and accommodating host. We would love the opportunity to come back here. Super quiet and beautiful!! In addition, the homemade beer was amazing!!
Thanks very much!!
We had at one night stay at this beautiful peaceful wooded setting with all the amenities! Our arrival was late, so it was dark and we had just picked up our camper earlier in the day, so we were so happy to be greeted with a bright light guiding us to our designated area! Their gravel pad was more level than the campground we just left - no adjustments needed! We visited a little, they met our dog Jake, & then it was time to get some sleep after our long days drive. We would love to stay here again & maybe get to visit for longer. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us.
The hosts were awesome, very nice and very welcoming. The pad was great, full hookups! It was very peaceful out there and we enjoyed our stay. Thank y’all so much for having us.
Kathy and Jay
Slightly challenging to get in but host gave excellent instructions. Glad to have 50 amp service and water available. Gray water dump is a plus. This is our first BW experience. Looking forward to getting to know hosts better the next time we pass through.
We had a restful night at TheHatchPad. Just as we met our gracious hosts, the rain started coming down! Hopefully, we will be in the area again so we can have a longer chat. They have the perfect site with hookups. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!!
We arrived really late in the evening and got a warm welcome by our hosts and got the chance to talk for a while before we went to bed. It’s a super quiet space and we slept really good.
Our host was very welcoming and offered us to use everything he has setup in his beautiful place in the middle of the forest. Not one single noise at night.
If you are taking a drive on the Trace this is a great place to stop overnight. It was quiet and the host was friendly.
The hosts helped us into site which is very nice and peaceful. The hosts had a family commitment while we were there. The hosts are great. We would stay here again.
We stayed at this location for two nights on our way to Florida. The area is great for exploration and a short drive to Jackson which is home to some great museums. We were able to meet our hosts upon departure and wished we could have spent more time chatting with them. They were more than accommodating providing water, electric, and even offered their washer/dryer to us. We will definitely be back!
John and his wife were excellent host .
They were very thoughtful and considerate I get them a five star plus rating
We got there right at dark and John helped me back in and even helped me unload my motorcycle
They were even gracious to us to let us do our laundry and take are trash.
I told John he and wife are welcome to stay at my place in NY if they are ever in the neighborhood
Great little hideaway. Perfect for us for the night. So quiet and peaceful, we could've stayed longer. I'm keeping this on my list of places to return if we pass back through Mississippi.
Our hosts have furbished two rv pads in a very pretty part of our country. One for them and one for visitors.
From our prospective, their rving experience has enabled them to provide a great setup for some lucky boondockers. Thanks to our hosts, we had a peaceful overnight and were able to do a little laundry as a bonus.
We had a great time at this beautiful hideaway off the Natchez Trace. The spot was easy enough to back into, even with the rainy conditions we arrived it. The host has done a great job with the place. The drive in was beautiful, worth the stop if you are in the area!
We arrived just before dark - after a couple of adjustments, we got into our spot. J arrived just as we were setting up...told us about the services (50 amp, water and grey water disposal) AND he offered up his washer and dryer! So helpful and friendly...we would definitely stop in again. Thanks TheHatchPad!
We didn’t have a long stay, as we arrived just before sunset and left fairly early in the morning, but we enjoyed the spot and J was very easygoing and pleasant. He made sure we had everything we needed to set up. When we left this morning, we were close enough to drive to the Cypress Swamp Nature Trail and the Natchez Trace Trail where we had nice walks with our dogs. Hopefully we will be back sometime for a longer stay.
Our hosts very very friendly and informative. The location was great and we will be back the next time we are in the area. Thanks TheHatchPad!
We were greeted upon arrival. The host helped us settle in and hook up. They’ve travelled extensively and we had a nice chat. They took us to a local restaurant where we had our first southern food buffet. Yuummm! The location was very quiet. Thanks for the hookup. All the best with your families.
Mr. Hatchpad arrived while we were still attempting to back into his driveway with our 41' fiver. He offered to do the job and did it much faster than we could have, assuming that we could have. The couple had full timed in a fiver for a while and he was much more adept at maneuvering our RV. We didn't have much time to socialize due to conflicting schedules and the incessant rain. His facilities were better than many RV campgrounds.
All in all, it was an enjoyable stay. FWIW, Mr. Hatchpad makes a really refreshing cider.
Our gratitude and thanks to both of them.
TheHatchPad offers full hookups with 50 amps. Just be really careful when you are backing into his place if you have a 40 footer. We really enjoyed our stay.
Many thanks to TheHatchPad ( J & B ) for a great stay. Enjoyed hearing about your travels and appreciated the electric hookup. Would love to stay with you sometime in the future and if you get to Florida please give me a call.
Our stay was great we were very comfortable and accommodations were very nice! TheHatchpad is a great place to hop on Natchez trace and explore! Top notch!!
It's a nice little place and the hosts are friendly, sadly we didn't have the time to get to know them better. Would definitely sleep here again !
Great host with easy access to the Natchez Trace Parkway. Had a fun talking with our host about all our mishaps while RVing over the years.
You do need to navigate some to back into your slot and several neighbors do have dogs that bark at night. Not an issue if you close your windows but noticeable if open.
Had a nice time staying with hosts. Very quiet area, level spot. Would love to stay with them again if in the area. Thank you.
Sweet. Our first Boondockers stay and we lucked into John and Bridget. The spot is rustic but comes with electric and water and the use of a garden hose to drain the grey tank. But - the crowning glory has been our hosts, or rather our new forever friends. (And we wondered if they might be serial killers while driving to their place). They just happened to be on the Natchez Trace. We have really enjoyed exploring this historic road and some of the towns around this part of the 440 mile Trace. We even managed to break a window on our trailer (we are back up nerds) and were invited to stay as needed while our insurance and repair facilities work out the details. We are so happy John and Bridget happened to us. Thumbs up for the Hatch Pad.
What a pair of nice people. They allowed us to stay on their site for the night plus took us out for a good meal. We had a great time. We would recommend anyone to stop here Thanks again.
Thanks J & B. We had a lovely evening staying at the Hatchpad. It is very generous of you to put in such a nice parking pad for overnight guests. And utilities too! What a treat.
These guys are so wonderful and Wolfpack is so grateful for staying at their site. They know the area well. J and B have been working on the site turning things into a full-timer home. They will help any way they can and J helped us out the whole way. The lot they have, seems to have needed a lot of work and J has been doing his best. We stayed here after days of rain so got to see the ugly side. Didn't get to walk any trails they recommended because of weather. I do want other campers to know, that J is working on making things better as time goes by and things are shaping up. Do know that the road is the only place to really walk on the site. J put out some rugs to help us out. Our 40 ft motorhome was a first for J and we were up to the test of seeing how his pad will hold up. It did well and he will be packing it some more soon. Internet is scarce. We tried with Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile. Only Verizon would work throughout, Sprint got 1 bar towards entrance, T-Mobile dead about 5 miles before we got there. I would stay again, if it hasn't rained recently. Dry season is probably really good here.
The hosts spent years on the road, and are wise to what RVers need, as well as extraordinarily friendly folk. Because their site’s deep in the woods, do your best to get there before dark - the trees all around keep even the moon and stars hidden! Quiet, peaceful and friendly.
The site is easy to find and conveniently situated on the Natchez trace pkwy. Sorry the weather didn’t allowed us to chat more with them. Thanks again for hosting us. Maybe we’ll meet again in the future.
We had a very good experience here! Hosts were very nice and helpful. BEAUTIFUL area that feels very safe. Will definitely stop by again!!
Property was ready to find. John is doing work on the property so it is a bit tough to arrive and turn a car and take around, but we were successful. The location is great for hiking and exploring the area.
This was our first time using our membership and we couldn’t have been more delighted. John & Bridget are friendly, gracious, and extremely helpful hosts! We got in after dark and they came out and helped us get setup for the night. In the morning John helped us get turned around and even fixed a broken light on our U-Haul tow dolly!! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and the drive down Nachez Trace is gorgeous to boot! Can’t wait till we pass through next time to stay again.
Thanks for everything folks! Best wishes and safe travels,
April, Jenn, and the kids
Fantastic location less than a quarter mile of the Natchez Trace. Quiet rural area in the woods. The hosts have setup a spot for multiple RV's with power and water on gravel. We spent one night but thoroughly enjoyed the spot and the generous hospitality and conversation. The approach is a bit narrow so longer trailers may need to adjust a few times but the road is not busy.
John was very accommodating despite the rains. We came late and left early. Site is primitive and while electric and water are available, standing water prohibited us from connecting. Will be a nice stop once they progress with their project.
We arrived a little later than planned and John and Bridget took the time to welcome us. The are great hosts and helped us set up our rig in the Dark. They have a very nice property! Thank again, hoping to see you in Canada!
We were very impressed with the communication skills our hosts displayed in offering their hospitality. The location is fantastic, just off the Natchez Trace, and they even offered electric and water hookups. We passed like ships in the night, never meeting face to face, but really wish we could have met our hosts for the evening! Thanks again for the respite!
What a beautiful spot to take a break for the night. Our hosts were so incredibly kind and generous- To the point we felt guilty. I have heard of Southern hospitality but had never experienced it. That saying comes to mind, you may forget things people say but you never forget the way a person makes you feel. Their warmth and generosity is humbling. What a treat to meet people like our hosts. Sure hope we get to return the favour one day.
Charlene and Jim
The Hatchpad couple were great hosts.
They are in an amazing location right off the Natchez Trace Parkway, which must be driven, biked and hiked to believe. We were made to feel very welcome, from being personally guided into out parking space (which had 30 amp electric and water) to having a large doormat placed outside our entry door to keep the dirt off our shoes!
Unfortunately due to their busy schedules we didn't have a chance to "chew the fat" as much as we would have liked to.
Do yourself a favor and visit these folks, you won't be disappointed.
