Judie and Cal are very nice and their place was good also.
Thank you
These hosts were lovely and accommodated despite our short notice, delayed arrival, and hectic remote work day in their back yard the next morning! Great folks, and great spot to spend the night, especially for our dog in their huge fully fenced area. We had to drag our pup away 😂
Was looking for a quiet place to stay and that's exactly what we got! Cal and Judie were very nice and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Even allowed us to use a nearby electrical hook-up. They have a LARGE fenced area that the dogs got to run in til they were worn out! Would definitely recommend!
Thank you to our hosts for being so kind to our big family. Not only did we have a great place to plug in and fill up our tanks, they have space to soak up the surroundings. Thank you again for your generosity in sharing your land and selves.
I enjoyed my time to collect my thoughts and get some alone time. It was incredibly peaceful right in the middle of a pine forest. CalnJudie were welcoming and friendly. It was nice to be away from the city life for the short time I had. would stay again for sure.
Lovely hosts. We greatly appreciated having a safe spot to park over Labor Day weekend. Very quiet location. Electric hookups. Our dogs enjoyed running in the fenced yard. Thank you both for offering your location to us!
Cal and Judie were wonderful hosts. We were warmly welcomed. It is a beautiful site and enjoyed being able to park with fantastic pine trees. Thank you Cal and Judie, we will see you in the future.
Judie and Cal were welcoming and gave us freedom to come and go. They were helpful to us newbies in RV life and gave us tips. Our pup loved it because she had a huge area to run free and their dogs accepted her and she felt one with the pack. We’d love to return one day. Many thanks!
Cal n Judie were very accommodating and gracious. We went to Bend and visited the town for my husband’s birthday and they hosted my two kids as well. Very kind people. We had very nice conversations about family and got suggestions to see places in the area and even got a wonderful recommendation for Mexican food. The property was quiet and peaceful. Would definitely come back!
Calnjudie are the perfect hosts, welcoming and kind, happy to share their experiences. While they were preparing to leave on a trip the next morning, they took the time to show us their shop, home, and RV.
Thank you for your tips on visiting Crater Lake. We made it cycling around the rim! We saw an RV like yours and wondered if we passed each other. Our home is always open for a visit.
What an excellent experience! Cal and Judy were awesome hosts, made the stay effortless, and shared great tips for the local area. Hope to see them again soon.
Cal and Judi were lovely and generous people! The area where we were settled was large and fenced in. My dogs had so much fun getting to be off leash!
While there I met another couple who gave me other boondocking locations to check out. RV people truly are a. Class act...helping others...sharing tips.this was my first boondocking experience and I couldnt be more pleased!
And, the night sky, was just icing on the cake.
Thank you Cal and Judi!
Our hosts were the best, sharing stories and touring the woodworking shop were highlights. Letting our fur babies meet and play off leash was a treat. Don’t miss an opportunity to meet these people. A true joy and we hope to visit again.
Stayed 3 nights. They are in a quiet & somewhat secluded place. But, easy access to all venues. They are very nice people. They have a lot of room for RVs. If we are ever in this area again or in Arizona at their winter home we will ask to stay with them.
As with all the Boondockers Welcome folks we have met, this couple and accommodations were great Friendly, knowledgeable of the area with suggestions about good Mexican food and beautiful drives to take. Thanks for sharing your La Pine Place!
Easy access, check with the hosts about using the gates. Cal offered electric but I'm happy using my solar. The offer to fill up my drinking water jugs I took gladly! I didn't get much time with the dogs or Cal and Judie, but they're kind and generous folks for sure! (the dogs are cuties) I had good cell reception, the spot was roomy and lovely. Off to more adventures!
I loved staying at Cal n Judie’s property. It was so quiet that after being on the road, I just sat and listened to the wind in the pine trees. There are a lot of outdoor activities in the area...hiking, boating. They were perfect hosts.
Beautiful quite location, host were very helpful directing us in. If you travel with a big rig swing wide to make the turn into the drive. 30 amp was nice. But the weather was nice, even a bit cold till morning. No need for AC.
This is always a wonderful stay and always prepared for guests.
Cal n Judie are the most gracious host's. We spent two nights here. It is so relaxing. Lots of room for our 33 ft trailer. 30amp service. And there was another boondocks here at the same time. We traded stories and got along just fine. We traded tours of our trailers. How fun!!
We had the opportunity to stay at "Our La Pine Place: this last weekend. Cal n Judie were gracious hosts, letting us fill up our tank with their fresh well water, and giving us a 30a electrical hookup (much needed for the AC - it was a warm weekend!). Property was fenced and private. Easy access to town or sights, beautiful star-filled sky and soooooo quiet at night. Got to meet some fellow travelers our last night, who were staying in one of the other spots. Great folks, full-timers, plenty of stories on their travels.
We highly recommend this location and hosts - and hope to visit them again some day soon!
We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Cal & Judi’s! They are so welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The property was very easy to find, and there is plenty of space for every shape and size rig! Also, our dogs loved the fenced in 3 acres they got to freely roam. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!
We requested a 5 day stay to explore La Pine and Bend. Mosquitos were initially intense when we first arrived, but got better during our stay there. We were mostly out and about, so it wasn't too much of an issue for us. Our kids absolutely loved playing with their dogs, Missy, Tally and Bubba. We enjoyed our conversations with Cal n Judie. They were incredibly kind and offered up great advice! There's always something to learn from fellow RVers. We highly recommend this host and location! We hope to cross paths again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience, your generosity and kindness is much appreciated!
Fantastic property. Relaxing and quiet. Owners are phenomenal hosts. Awesome dogs
We look forward to visiting again!
PS-- don't forget bug spray! Large property with mosquitos.
Wonderful inviting couple. Great set up to accommodate travelers. Judy met us at the gate, and Cal was there to direct us. Had another couple come in after us, no issue plenty of room. Thank you for making your place available.
We had a great stay at Our La Pine Place. Our hosts were happy to great us, help back into our spot and provide us with 30 amp hookup. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful forested property as we were tired from a long drive and the mosquitos were out in force that week. We will definitely be visiting again if we're in the area!
My fiancé and I and our dog enjoyed 2 peaceful nights at Cal n Judie’s place. They were very kind and welcoming. The rv area was great, large and separately fenced from their living space home and yard. One other rv was there the first night but the area is so large three was plenty of room. We were able to use power and fill up our tank when needed. Our dog loved the property and playing with the hosts’s dogs. We did too!! The hosts are very experienced RVers and shared good info. It was very peaceful. We loved waking up to the quiet and pine trees from our windows. We would most definitely stay her again and look forward to doing so
Wonderful property and wonderful people! They let us use their electric and our dog just loved running around the grounds! The snow started falling so we had to head out quick! Thanks for a wonderful experience!!
We had such a warm welcome from La Pine hosts! From the beginning to the very end, we were more than pleased! Both of them are amazing people & would highly recommend to anyone in any situation!
We had read all the wonderful reviews so we decided to stay overnight on our way to Crater Lake National Park! So glad we did. They were incredibly hospitable! We appreciate the conversation and restful stay❤️ Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay!
We really appreciated this place to stay while we were traveling between locations, with plans to visit Crater Lake. We work full time remotely and this worked out really well, as there was abundant AT&T cell service at the site.
The Hosts were gracious and helped us park. They also have very friendly dogs, and the area we were in was fenced off allowing us an area for our dogs to play in.
We were traveling with another couple who were also in their fifth wheel, and there was plenty of space for more rigs here if need be.
If we come through here again, we'd definitely love to have this place to stay.
Thank you so much to Cal and Judie for the amazing welcome, sharing their beautiful property, and the great hospitality. We work full time during the day, and enjoyed the area in the evening. What a great little town of La Pine! If you come, you just HAVE to check out Cal's art! What a talented man!! We hope to come through again sometime in the future and hope to get to see them again. Easy access through 2 secure gates. Very quiet and very dark at night. A perfect stay. This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and we our next host have some big shoes to fill. Thank you again Cal and Judie!

Enjoyed our one night stay with Cal and Judie.
Felt very welcome for our first ever Boondockers Welcome stay.
Great start to our trip to the Oregon Coast.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We enjoyed our stay so much!
You have a beautiful peaceful location, thank you for having us.
My dog Saoirse and I had a fantastic stay in La Pine. Judie and Cal are amazing hosts, and our dogs had a great time playing together. I look forward to coming back to see my new friends again!
Lovely property full of pine trees, about 35 miles south of Bend. Lots of fun things to see and do in the area. Hosts are friendly, full of information and most generous with water and electricity. We hope to stay there again.
Cal and Judie are the most gracious host's. Wonderful level parking area in the Pondarosa Pines. No issue getting in or out. Someone showed up with about a 37ft motor home. They didn't have any problem getting in or out. 30 amp hookup. Water is available to fill tanks. And it is well water, so it taste's great! All fenced so the dogs could run all over. Lots of room for my 33ft TT and truck. We stayed 4 nights and would have liked to have stayed longer but we had to keep movin' on south. There are squirrels running around. We even found deer tracks next to our trailer in the morning. Cal took about an hour of his time to help me with a hitch issue. He has all the tools you could ever need. Their dogs are very friendly. I just can't say enough good things about Boondocking here. Thank you Cal and Judie, it was a wonderful stay!
It was so relaxing to stay with Cal n Judie at their beautiful pine forested property. They were most welcoming and their 3 dogs were very friendly. Great forest walks are close by
Cheers Gonetroppo
Enjoyed being with Cal and Judie. They greeted us as we drove in the driveway, showed us where to park, and where very helpful. Location was great. Very close to town and tourist attractions,
This is our third visit and as wonderful as the first time! It's a treat to visit with Judie and Cal and catch up with their lives since last year.
Their space for the trailer is so beautiful and quiet. You feel like you are away from it all and really, just, 15 minutes from town.
There's so much to do in the surrounding area, and if you like delicious Mexican food, be sure to try Cinco de Mayo. Warning - go early to avoid a wait - it was crowded at 4:15 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon.
Fishing at Fall River (about 15 miles) was exceptionally good this time.
Thanks again for the time to visit and to walk with you and your three special dogs!
We needed a stop over as we were leaving Crater Lake and heading to Boise. We had a lovely stay and generous hosts (and some great dogs). Perfect as we were passing through! Thank you!
When you need a quiet space along your way then plan a stay. Everything better than noted. La Pine is just a short trip for Grocery Outlet and the $ Store or other needs. My plans had to change at the last minute and Cal n Judie were very understanding.
Come as strangers and leave as friends certainly applies.
La pine place is a great Boondockers site. Spacious, quiet and gracious host. Hope to see them at their site in AZ. M&D
4 nights, C n J are kind, caring and accommodating, 30amp, water, and a few acres fenced for the dogs to run at will. Throughly enjoyed our stay. It's summer in the high desert so expect some dust. Will definitely return.

This was a beautiful place to stay and the hosts were so generous and fun to visit with. Our dog was very happy to play with the happy pups who live here. Another plus was the fantastic tasting well water. It was hard to leave. There is so much to do in the area. We really enjoyed the Newberry Monument.
“Our La Pine Place” is a great place to stay. They are such gracious accommodating hosts in a peaceful quiet setting. My dog got along great with their dogs and I was privileged to get some good instruction on my new wood carving endeavor. I would not hesitate to book a return visit sometime.
Had a very pleasant stay at Cal and Judie's place. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again. Perfect place for a larger rig near to Bend and 30amp power too.
Judie met us on the roads edge by the driveway and she and Cal helped us get set up with the 30 amp power :-)
They also allowed us to fill up our fresh water tank as our service spot had none available. Both were very helpful and Cal helped me trying to locate a minor electrical issue on the toad.
Great couple with fun kids (the three amigo dogs)
This was a wonderful stop near Bend! Cal and Judie are such gracious hosts. The large fenced yard was so peaceful and a great place for our children to play! Thanks again Cal and Judie! You have a wonderful home and we appreciate you opening up your property to us!
It was great to meet Judie and Cal again, and their individual dogs! And enjoyed their new (to us) rural, quiet, roomy location. Thanks guys! I’m sure we’ll meet again somewhere!
Wonderful couple, friendly dogs and beautiful location. 30amp service available which was appreciated greatly.
Cal and Judie are simply the best! They were very welcoming and offered a lot of information about Central Oregon. They had plenty of space for our 40ft rig and the electrical hookup offered along with fresh water available was a bonus. Our kids had a great time playing with their dogs as well. All in all a great stay and we would definitely stay again.
Great hosts plus 3 very well behaved and friendly border collies. Plenty of room among the tall pines. Cal and Judie are welcoming and gracious to visitors and very knowlegable about the surrounding area. Will definitely stay here again!
What a beautiful stay! Judie and Cal were so helpful in getting us all situated..start to finish! We fell in love with their dogs...which are like little humans! Awesome hiking..so much to dohere...Cal is a fantastic artist..he reminded me so much of my father it was hard to leave! Genuinely good people..we will see them again thats forsure! Thank you for showing is your shop and guidance of LaPine...
Judie and Cal are warm, wonderful hosts. Judie helped me plan my route north and Cal made sure I was settled in comfortably. Robbie was ecstatic and slept so well after being safely off tether in their fenced-in yard. We haven't been able to play catch much lately, and really enjoyed ourselves. Judie's invitation to spend a second night gave us extra time to navigate and get some more exercise. All thumbs and paws up for Judie & Cal and the pups.
Great stay..all good .plus 30 amp power
This was the 2nd time we've stay here, first time was back in June.
It was much colder this time, got down to about 28 in the middle of the night!
Our hosts are always super nice, and their ranch is big enough for several rigs.
Nearby La Pine is a great little town with lots of good mom and pop restaruaints and several good sized markets. The first gas station on your left as you come into town, driving North, has diesel and propane.
If you like pine trees and very dark nights (milky way photographers anyone?) then this is the spot for you.
The turn into the driveway is sharp but I drive a 45' DP with a motorcycle lift plus tow a car. I just used all of the (dead end) road and had no problem. I unhooked the car before parking in the spot for the night. Also, we drove to the street and hooked up there the next morning - no traffic at all.
The hosts are RVers themselves and are genuinely keen to host and meet new friends. If you are travelling in central Oregon I recommend La Pine Place.
Cal and Judie have a great place to spend a night or two. They are gracious hosts. We have a forty footer with a toad and had plenty of room to maneuver. The 30 amp electricity was an added bonus. Recommend them highly.
We look forward to coming back here to see Cal and Judie, as well as to see the high desert attractions we weren't able to this trip.
Very peaceful setting beneath the pines. CAL and Judy are very gracious and generous hosts. Thanks for accepting our late stay request. Hopefully we can return to ths beautiful area and visit with them again. Great pups!
We had a wonderful stay with Cal n Judy and the pups. We will def stay again when in the area!
Cal and Judy are great! and their dogs are super friendly. Their space for boondocking was perfect and came with 30amp hookup. We liked it so much we considered staying a couple extra days but the road was calling and so we only spent one night.
Very helpful giving us suggestions on rerouting our trip to avoid I5 closure because of a fire.
We will definitely see them again and plan on a longer stay. Thanks again Cal and Judy for your generosity!
We had a wonderful time with Cal and Judie and the 3 dogs. They gave us a lot of information about their area which we visited. It was fantastic. Lots of places to see. Cal and Judie were very hospitable. We enjoyed chatting with them at the end of the day. Thank you again.
From Aussies in USA.
Love to Missy, Tallie & Dewey.
A beautiful, peaceful setting in the pines! Very gracious, friendly and helpful hosts.
Cal and Judie were absolutely wonderful hosts. They answered any questions we had about the local area and gave us useful info like where the closest dump station is. They know the area, which was a help because there is quite a lot to see and we only had a few days so had to narrow down our options. They were friendly when we arrived and whenever we sought them ought, but gave us our privacy. We could come and go as we pleased. We ended up staying a few extra nights to have some more time to explore. Their place is easy to find, and easy to maneuver in and out of. It is quiet and was a safe place to unhitch while we explored. I highly recommend Cal and Judie's place!
Quiet, peaceful environment. Hosts were warm and welcoming. Great dogs and they were very friendly and good with my 2 dogs. It is a wonderful place to stop if you want a restful stay, have pets, 30Amp service is available and a nice place to stop.
What a beautiful place. Very quiet. Cal & Judie were excellent hosts. Several acre lot surrounded with tall trees. 30 amp service. Water if you need it. Made you feel like your welcome and wanted. Cal has a lot of hobbies he willingly shows that he works on. A great place to spend a few days & we would stop again if in the area.
This was our first stay with a Boondockers Welcome host and we can only hope the hosts we visit in the future are this welcoming and this much fun.
The property is mostly sunny which is perfect for us because we have solar, and they were kind enough to fill our fresh water tank while we were there, which was a huge bonus since we were going to be boondocking for several days after leaving their property! There were no low hanging branches on the road, the driveway (which is about 500 feet long) and no low hanging branches on the property. The parking area is large enough for about 8 to 10 large RV's so plenty of room to back in or even turn around. The ground where we parked our fifth wheel was perfectly level hard packed dirt. Our hosts were super friendly, and while we were there they had some friends that were also staying on the property. They were all a lot of fun to hang out with. We spent most days visiting local attractions, but we did sit outside with the group on a few occasions, chatting and telling stories of our collective RV adventures.
We had such a great time that we joined Escapees so we can be sure to meet up with them again, hopefully very soon! The property is located within 10 minutes of La Pine, which is a very small, clean town with a lot of new construction. They have pretty much everything you need, a Post Office, an Ace Hardware, quite a few gas stations (with diesel) and several that also sell propane.
There are a couple of grocery stores in town, and plenty of Mom & Pop cafes with great food. Try Cinco de Mayo, really good Mexican food! This is a great stop if you are planning a visit to any of the local attractions like the lava cave or high desert museum and Bend is only about 30 minutes North.
Just make sure you drive super slow through the property because they have 2 very sweet dogs that will sometimes escort you, so you don't get lost.
Reception and opening the gates was during heavy rainfall. Sorry for that inconvenient arrival. We got a second patch on higher level to put our rv. Was much better. And had a nice chat afterwards. Experenced our stay very positive and more in comparison with the next day when sun was shining againg. Thanks Cal and Judie and au revoir.
We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit with Judie and Cal!!
They are incredibly gracious and helpful! We hope to visit again when we’re over in that area of Oregon.
Our La Pine Home was a great night's refuge after a Long day driving! Hosts were friendly, met me at gate & directed me to a great spot out back, with 30 Amp. Enjoyed visiting about their place, acreage, RVing & shared resources & ideas. Their back area was fairly level, easy to access behind 2nd gate & in the back away from house & drive. Really appreciated the last minute acceptance & warm welcome. Hope to return as invited with more time to explore the area, and learn more about this interesting couple. Happy Trails
Joan Towers
This was my first BW stay, and they were awesome hosts. Bonus point for having 30 amp available! They are super nice, helped me back up my giant rig, and the location was nice and quiet. I was going into Bend each day, which is a bit of a drive, but happy to have a free location to stay instead of paying Campground Rates bear there.
We had a lovely spot. It was nestled in the pine trees and very quiet. The hosts are very kind to open their land up to people and are extremely accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this host to others! Thank you!!!!! :)
These guys are our mentors! We hope to be just like them some day. Ideal situation. Summer place in Beautiful La Pine, and winter place in the warm and wonderful Salome. PERFECT!
Thanks again to both of you for the wonderful place to rest our heads for a few nights. We appreciate you both and look forward to the next time we see you!
Cal and Judie are great. They accepted my request literally in less than 5 minutes and said "C'mon over!" Their property is just a few miles off of Highway 97 and is easy to find. They welcomed us at the gate helped us get set up with power and water right off the bat - very accommodating! Our dog immediately loved the huge fenced area to run around in. And their dogs are also very sweet. Then they left us alone to get settled in and get a good night's sleep. In the morning we awoke to the sounds of many birds chirping and I had a great conversation with them for about an hour before we left. Great folks! We'll probably visit them again soon there or at their property in Arizona. Highly recommend!
I stayed at Cal & Judie's place for a few nights taking some time to relax away from the road (as I had been traveling cross country for three days already). Very quiet here, definitely just what I needed! Thanks so much yall :)
Great people and so friendly! Thanks for the info on some of the routes we are taking and providing your space for us!
We had a great time meeting Judy and Cal! They were both so kind and friendly. Their recommendations for a great place to eat dinner was right on! If you stay there, be sure to leave room for Mexican food at Cinco de Mayo.
And, Cal was extremely helpful to our questions regarding RVs. We are still new to this and Cal's expertise was invaluable.
Loved meeting their precious dogs, Tally and Missy.
Thank you Cal & Judie for a wonderful stay! I know the pups loved being able to run around the big enclosed area. It was like a dog park all to themselves!
We can not say enough good things about Cal and Judie! We were greeted warmly and as if they had known us forever. They opened their home to us, visited with us and gave us directions and recommendations on things to do and see in the area. We enjoyed dinner together. Cal helped Herman with a repair. Our original plans were to stay 3 nights but we enjoyed their company so much we stayed an extra night. We were sad to leave and will miss these two new friends! We hope to see them in GA soon!
Very social and helpful hosts. It was so quiet at night I slept in later than planned. Would recommend them to anyone in the area.
