We are retired couple with a love for the outdoors. Details: We enjoy road trips, birdwatching, hiking, skiing, canoeing, woodworking, reading, gardening and meeting new people. Our best trip so far - the Alcan Highway. Home Town: Margaretville is a small town in the western Catskills located halfway between Kingston and Oneonta. It is near NYS Forest Preserve and has many hiking trails nearby. Trout fishing in the East Branch of the Delaware River is very good with the Pepacton Resevoir a location for great Brown Trout fishing. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We like to travel to see family, specifically in the Northeast and Wyoming and Idaho. Skills or Expertise to Share: No real skills, we get by. :)

We were attending an event about an hour away, and were unable to arrive until rather late, but Mike and Becky kindly hosted us, despite our arriving at an impolite hour. We enjoyed talking with them in the morning. Becky brought us a hot stone from their hearth, which was lovely to warm up with and we got some of Mike’s maple syrup. Altogether a great night. Would definitely stay there again.

Mike & Becky were fantastic hosts! Their property is beautiful and had three quiet nights. We were in town visiting some family, which we had some mutual connetions with Mike’s family. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would be honored to return!

Lovely, wonderful, generous hosts in a very friendly neighborhood. We enjoyed visiting with them, trying Mike’s maple syrup, and Becky kindly shared some fresh veggies from their garden (made a very tasty salad!). They also offered great routing advice for our travels they next day.

Thanks Mike and Becky for wonderful stay. Our host greeted us out front and directed us to their empty driveway for a couple nights. Neighbors are around and as friendly as our hosts. We spent an hour with them on the front porch waving to folks who drove by the corner lot. Picked up the last quart of this season's maple syrup, but pints and halves are still available I think. Great conversation and good travel insights for us who are relative newbies to van travel. We had a ball in Margaretville. Mark and Kate Donnelly, Richmond

Mike and Becky are wonderful to chat with and very welcoming. The neighborhood is full of charm. DO NOT pass up the opportunity to buy Mike’s homemade maple syrup. He taps it right out of the big beautiful trees in the yard!
