We are conveniently located near Goose Creek, Summerville, Charleston, and the Francis Marion National Forest. We are 45 minutes from Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach.
Just the basic courtesies! No smoking. Pets are a nice bonus for us and the yard is accessible for off leash play. There is also a dog park in the community. Once we've accepted your request, we prefer direct communication on the day of your arrival via phone or text. This allows us to be sure your spot is open and ready for you when you arrive as we sometimes need to move our own vehicles around.
Boondocking is available most any time, as long as we have a little notice. We have just moved into a new home and can only accommodate smaller vehicles (ie Roadtrek or Transit van size). We sadly are no longer able to welcome travel trailers and we are truly sorry as we have made so many friends over the years in all sorts of vehicles. Our reservations are currently blocked to allow for us to get settled but we plan to open again soon. Feel free to message us if you have an immediate need and we will see what we can do.
If you have a larger vehicle, please consider the following alternatives in the area:
Charleston Visitor's Center parking garage on Mary St (They have large spots for RVs with plenty of overhead clearance and it's $1/hr or max $18/day and very centrally located. They offer discounted rate of $7 flat rate after 3 p.m.; $5 flat rate after 5 p.m. No hook ups though and it's not clear if staying in the rv overnight is allowed.)
James Island County Park (They have overflow boondocker parking at a reduced rate.)
Edisto Beach State Park (Beach Campground)
KOA in Mt. Pleasant
Oak Plantation (never been but have heard it's ok)
KOA in Ladson (stayed once, easy access to I-26, ok for a quick overnight w/ hook ups, but nothing fancy).
Cypress Gardens is just down the street. Hiking is available at Old Santee Canal Park, Biggin Creek, and the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto Trail (which starts from the coast and ends in the upstate). The Audubon Nature Center at Beidler National Forest is a must see as well. We previously were located in Summerside, which is the home of sweet tea and nicknamed the "Flowertown in the Pines." We still highly recommend you visiting and be sure to not miss the Farmers Market on Sat mornings, Guinness Book of World Record's Largest cup of sweet tea, Guerins Pharmacy with their still operating soda fountain, Summerville-Dorchester Museum, The Timrod Library, and Flowertown Theatre.
Traceyk73 was a great host! Moved their vehicles off the driveway for us to park our car and trailer. Was there when we arrived and provided local recommendations. Thanks for being a great host!
If I go back to visit grandson in the Navy I’ll be wanting to stay here.
Friendly host. Due to tons of rain recently, we shared the driveway with the host and so needed to coordinate coming and going. Host was good with communication, though, so it wasn't an issue.
Highly recommend these hosts, they are excellent with communication.
Enjoyed our short visit. Host was really accommodating and helpful too.
The hosts are friendly, accommodating and great conversationalists. They provided information about the area and gave me insider tips on places to visit. Plus they gave me some ideas for my rig which I am implementing. My dog and I enjoyed walking the neighborhood and meeting the neighbors. It was the perfect visit.
Enjoyed talking to our host and walking around the neighborhood. Convenient area to overnight. Thanks for having us.
They were great hosts and gave up their driveway to accommodate us. Great people and great dogs.
Highly recommended if in the area. Thanks folks
This host was easy to find and it was nice to meet them. They made sure we were all set up. Although their road is next to busy roads, it was not too noisy, and there are sidewalks on their street for safe walking.
I stayed at traceyk73's for a few days enjoying Charleston. They were very uncomplicated and flexible and even let me join their dinner meet up and let me use the shower. Helpful and welcoming folks with big hearts. Thanks, guys. I'm looking forward to keep in touch.
We were greeted warmly and space was made so we could park on the driveway. Didn’t need hookups, so very simple. Good conversations with the hosts as they packed for a trip of their own.
Spent a night in the Charleston area with these hosts. Quite accommodating. They gave me good info of the surrounding area and suggested other stays down the road.
Stayed here for 1 night on our way to FL. easy location and friendly host.
Used there electric which was handy.
Didn’t spend much time with them as was only a short stop.
Great if you want to explore Charleston.
Would recommend to all!
Very helpful hosts. A great place to boondock for a small RV for a couple of nights.
I spend 3 night with this very nice family. They gave me plenty of information about the area. Thank you very much.
I will be working in the area for a while and the hosts were gracious enough to let me use there spot for 4 nights. Location is very convenient to everything Summerville has to offer and just a half hour or so to the beach. Very welcoming and hospitable I highly recommend.
We had a nice stay and appreciated the nights rest. The house is close to a busy rd but things quieted down in the evening
Our hosts were so nice. They provided us with water and electricity, which we were so grateful for. . The night we were there we had lots of rain, so much that the movie they wanted to see with their daughter was canceled. Our 21’ trailer and pick up truck fit perfectly on their driveway. They were so kind to park elsewhere for us. We hope to visit them again. 👍
We felt so grateful to be able to hook up our electricity at Tracy and Scott’s home. It was a long enough driveway to fit our trailer and truck. Scott was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We are looking forward to a return stay.
Scott and Tracey were wonderful hosts! We stayed two nights. They are situated in a residential development. It is very close to Food Lion, Circle K, and downtown Somerville. I would highly recommend Lowcountry Lodging if you have a smaller class C, class B, or small travel trailer.
They were extremely friendly and took us in even with a big trailer and truck. highly recommend
Scott greeted us and hooked us up to 30 amp power for our 2 night stay. He also gave us a nice tip on rv parking in Charleston which worked out great. Sorry we missed meeting Tracy. It was a nice stay where we got some well needed sleep.
Very helpful couple , great being close to Charleston . Thanks to them both hope they get a chance to visit the maritmes
Tracey & Scott were incredibly helpful to me. I had car issues which required me to stay much longer than I originally anticipated. They both went above and beyond with their assistance and generosity. They have 3 very friendly dogs and a large fenced in backyard where my dog got to play with them. I will consider friends for life and highly recommend them as Boondockers Welcome hosts at Lowland Lodging!
Tracey and Scott have been such a blessing for me. My car unfortunately has not! Heading here from North Carolina, my automatic transmission fluid overheated, hence my transmission is fried! I need to have it rebuilt, and they are letting me extend my stay until the work is done or/and until their next guest arrives which is on Friday.
They are extremely helpful, pleasant, and they have three great dogs that get along with my dog! A nice large fenced in backyard for lots of playtime!
Scott has helped me figure out some things with my R-pod which has been very welcoming!
I can’t thank them enough for their generosity day and hospitality! I highly recommend Lowcountry Lodging Boondockers Welcome!
We had such a lovely time at Low Country Lodge. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, hooking us up to electricity and water when we arrived. Summerville has a lovely downtown and we also loved walking through the nearby streets. We look forward to returning one day when the weather is a little bit warmer!
The host were very welcoming. They had cleared the spot for us and it was easy to slip into. Also an easy home to find. Very convenient to Charleston. The road nearby does have a good bit of traffic at night so you may want to bring white noise or ear plugs. The dogs are very human friendly.
My host were very accommodating. They graciously opened their driveway to me to allow me to work in my Schoolie and came to chat ave visit my last night. Their pets are beautiful and this area is very convient. I thank them for their hospitality, conversation and amazing energy.
We had a nice time with Tracey and Scott, they were very helpful and nice. I would go back when in SC.
They were wonderful to help park, supply me with electricy and water. Meeting the family, dogs and talk about travels topped off my stay.
We enjoyed our stay, great communication with the host. We got some tips about Charleston and also appreciated being able to plug in. We would gladly stay with them again when we're in the area.
Tracey and her family were great hosts. They were very responsive and gave us some great tips on how to navigate Charleston. We'd be happy to stay there again. Thanks for having us!
Tracey and her family were super accommodating and helpful during our stay with them.
Their driveway is flat and level and super easy to get into even with our low clearance trailer.
We enjoyed meeting them and sharing travel stories, will definitely be calling them again when we are in the Charleston area.
Tracy and family were is helpful on our second stay as they were on our first. We were comfortable and felt very welcome. They are great hosts!
Although our plans changed before we were planning to stay at Lowcountry Lodging and we never stayed all of my dealings with Tracey were wonderful. She had some things going on at her home but she still offered me a spot in her yard. I hope some day we get to meet wether it's in SC or at our house in NY. Very nice to deal with.
Had a wonderful time here. Tracy and her family were most welcoming. Very knowledgeable about the area. I really like history and spooky tidbits. Tracy and her daughter filled me in on both. Summerville is a great small town for a day visit. If you do stop here, be sure and visit the pharmacy and find all the little bird statues! Thx Tracy!
Great family! So helpful and gracious. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable!
Tracey was wonderful. She took me on a tour of Charleston. I saw spots that I would have missed if it wasn’t for her guidance and suggestion. Thanks again for a great time.
We stay for only one night in this little town of Summerville which is near to Charleston. Traceyk73 gave us a lot of information regarding Charleston. They were great hosts. Thanks to both of them !
We LOVED meeting and visiting with the Kaplan family!!!!! Their property is very pretty. There is even a stream running through it. Scott, Tracey, Arianna and their "fur babies" are all such warm, kind, funny and gracious that we would go back in a heart beat!!!!!
