Couldn't be better

As you can tell from other comments, this is a great boondock spot. Richard is very welcoming and hospitable and the spot would be big enough for any size rig. Power and water availability are just icing on the cake. Great very quiet and dark location but still so close to the city and Saguaro NP.

Kindred Spirits

We did not want to leave Richard and Qwen! Richard is a true gentleman, with great stories to tell and a slightly above average ability to play pool/billiards. Qwen his 12 yr old English Bulldog is a delightful and loving co host! We shall miss these two characters but hope to see them again in the near future.

Great Location and Host

The campsite is located adjacent to Richard’s house and his large metal garage. Water and electric hookups are well situated and easy to access. Access to the site is very easy and is a drive through. Richard is a nice, accommodating host. We had a wonderful stay and very much enjoyed the friendship, conversation and accommodations. We shared a BBQ dinner in his back porch. This is truly a jewel in the Boondockers Welcome lineup. The only slightly negative aspect is the weak cell service, but you don’t have to travel far to get a good signal. We travel with our canine companion, and there were miles of off leash walking on unpaved sand roads with essentially no traffic.

Exceptional Generous RVer

Richard is an exceptional individual. He has decided to share his property outside of Tucson with fellow RVers who wish to Boondock on their way through the area. We immensely enjoyed his generosity, camaraderie, stories, and experiences. The facility is top notch, out in the desert with access to a garden, pool, and a very friendly dog. We will be back to enjoy further dialogue and great conversations with Richard.

What a special place with a special host!

I stayed at RVaughn for two nights and had the most fabulous time! Oasis in the desert doesn't do justice for this gem of a location/host! We sat by a campfire during a passing thunderstorm and solved just about all of the worlds woes over a bottle of wine. Not only a great host... But has become a lifelong friend! And if you're lucky enough to be there when he's on a pumpkin pie binge...you'll be treated to the best scratch pumpkin pie you've ever had! Thanx R. See you next time! GT

Warm and accommodating host

He agreed to host us for a few days at this oasis and RVaughn even agreed to extend our stay, but then our plans changed and we cancelled our stay. R. was very kind and answered all our calls and emails promptly. Next year when back in his area we will try to stay there again. I think it was our loss.

A peaceful, private paradise!

We stayed one night with rvaughn and really enjoyed meeting him. He has a beautiful backyard where we enjoyed our dinner from his pergola while overlooking his pool and landscaping. Don't miss this stop when you are traveling through. Thank you rvaughn!

An oasis in the desert

RVaughn was a great host ! He was quite generous, going so far as to make us breakfast one morning and letting us use his BBQ. He's a great conversationnalist and we had a blast at his place ! The place itself was just right for our rig and it looks like an oasis resort in the desert. Hopefuly, we get to see him again !

A Great Host And Beautiful Place

This was our very first Boondockerswelcome.com site with our 40 foot bus. We believe that our host, RVaughn, has spoiled us as it will be very difficult for future places to match what he offers. His beautiful backyard is an oasis in the desert which offers lots of cool, shady trees, a lush lawn, tall Queen Palms trees, large Saguaro cactus and lovely pool with waterfall. There is even a large tree in which two Cooper Hawks nest, returning each evening after a day of hunting. He offers 30 amp service, a water hookup with fresh, clear well water, and private place to park the RV on a flat gravel base. While all of the above makes for a dream site, the best part is the warm and friendly personality this host presents. We spent many hours getting to know him, sharing diners, drinks and even an occasional cigar. We can hardily recommend RVaughn and his oasis in the desert.
