I'd make a great stop-over for you on your way to your destination. I have a level drive way that will accommodate a small travel trailer, truck camper or small class B. Your tow vehicle will likely have to park on the street. I can provide 15amp service+ (see House Rules). Dogs are welcome...if they are friendly with my Boxer I'll invite them to play in my fenced backyard. Again, this is an urban setting and probably best for folks traveling through and just need a spot to rest for the night.
+ No smoking on property
+ I must be able to meet your dog(s) and see how it will go with my Boxer before they will be allowed to hang out in my back yard. I also must be home during the times they have access to the back yard.
+ The “water hookup” is more using the garden hose to partially fill some tanks, but not be actually connected to your rig during your stay.
+ Electric service(15 amp) is for short periods or to use your kitchen appliance for eating/food prep. It is not for extended use or to run A/C and other major energy draw items. Thanks!
City of Phoenix--residential--paved streets and drive way. East of Hwy 51 (a few miles) and just north of the Loop 202. Very easy access. Back-in only to my driveway.
Possible room on driveway-- However, tow vehicle will most likely have to park on the street.
November through April ---- (It's just too darn hot in Phoenix the rest of the year) If you're in Arizona during the hot summer months, I'd suggest going up above the Mogollon Rim---lots of nice boon docking spots, beauty and quiet up there!
Not far from down town Phoenix, close to Scottsdale, lots of hiking nearby: Camelback Mtn, South Mtn, Piestewa Peak, etc. Golf courses all over. Breweries and good restaurants. Desert Botanical Gardens and Phoenix Zoo close by. Wesley Bolin Memorial Park is very nice--located in the State Capital buildings complex.
Marabelle Star was so welcoming and kind and the spot she offers was really great. We absolutely loved our stay!
We stayed recently for two nights and enjoyed exploring Phoenix within a short drive to the Arts District murals and Camelback Mountain hike. Kris and Mama Mary were so genuine and delightful to meet - we even had a lovely chat one night for a few hours! The neighbourhood was quiet so we slept well and within walking distance to supermarket. Highly recommend!
We stayed three nights at this location. There is a little bit traffic in this peaceful neighborhood. Kris (the host) and her mother Mary are very welcoming and friendly. We visit Phoenix by public transport, it is a just a 5 minute walk to the bus. Also a visit by car to the desert botanical garden is easy.
We had a nice talk about traveling in the USA and about the Netherlands. We highly recommend a stay here.
What a great host and great spot! Marbelle Starr was very welcoming and we loved the note on the garage door! Close to downtown Phoenix. The library in Scottsdale was one of the nicest libraries we have been to. We wished we had more time to get to know our host! Thank you so much!
Super friendly and easy going! In such a great area as well! Wish we could have stayed longer to get to know Kris more!
My stay in the suburbs of Phoenix was nice and care free. My host gave me great insights on where to stay next even written down directions so I won't get lost. She also took great care of my 2 moyen poodles while I was enjoying the art museum and restaurants downtown. I would stay here again!!
My dashboard is telling me I haven't left a review for Kris, and while I can see it on her profile, I'll go ahead and post again. The stay was perfect! Scroll down to read my original review!
This parking spot was perfect for our little Class B! Just the right size and level.
Our host was so enthusiastic for those already living her dream and it was a pleasure to further inspire her goals :)
She also shared her beautiful backyard with us and our cats - she says it’s a work in progress but it was the perfect spot to relax and chat.
Her pup is adorable and full of love and cuddles for anyone who will receive it :)
Our host shared with us her camping experiences in the area which we later explored further on our journey - they were wonderful!
Thank you so much for the awesome visit - hope to stay with you again on future travels!
I can not say enough about how wonderful this experience was. From the time I got there until the time I left, it felt like I was visiting friends vs. being hosted for the night.
Kris and her mother were both very pleasant to chat with and very helpful with directions and suggestions for other places. I couldn't have dreamed of a better place to stay.
Lucy and Jack seemed to hit it off very well too. Kris sent me some incredible pictures of them playing in the back yard.
She let Lucy stay with them while I did some shopping and ran a couple errands getting ready for the next day of driving.
It was great for Lucy and for me!
I hope that one day our paths will cross again. I could not have asked for a better experience. It definitely gave me a different view of Phoenix than when I was there years ago.
Thank you Kris, Mary and Jack! You are each awesome in your own ways! I will never forget the time we spent together!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness!
Was invited to come down a day early because I had business very early in the morning next day. So kind. Met K’s Mom. Just the nicest people Thank you thank you.
Come stay here! This host is super cool, very kind, has a wonderful dog, and is fun to talk to. I had a wonderful stay :)
We stayed with Kris on January 13 & 14, and have nothing but great things to say. From the initial communication, to the great directions, to arriving and finding an awesome welcome note and treats for our dogs - everything was perfect.
Kris invited our dogs to spend some time in her large fenced yard and play with her dog! When we had plans to spend the day out exploring, she offered to keep an eye on the dogs. This is so generous and for all of us traveling with pets, it is a blessing to have someone care about them as much as we do!
During our stay we had the pleasure of meeting Kris's mom, Mary, who was visiting from Montana for the winter. We all spent hours sitting around the yard chatting and sharing stories. We are most grateful for this experience and look forward to keep in touch with our gracious hosts!
