Located between Richmond and Charlottesville. Nestled in the forest of Virginia's beautiful rolling hills and minutes to several vineyards. We have a single 30Amp hookup and the best tasting water you have ever put in your mouth accessible from the driveway. If your sewage hose is 20ft or more (depending on your rig (my macerator hose can reach it)) you can dump tanks using the sewage access port on the opposite side of the house. You'll have to drive around to access.
No Smoking on property. No generators after 10pm.
County maintained gravel road for 2 miles with a 500' gravel drive from the road. The road has some hills and curves but none are severe. The road is tree covered but the limbs are not low enough to cause any issue. The turn in to the drive might be difficult for some larger rigs there is a drainage ditch to either side of the driveway.
There is plenty of room to park a tow vehicle next to your rig.
Send us a message to see if we have a spot available to fit your timeline.
Just minutes from Keswick Vineyards, Barboursville Vineyards, Jefferson Vineyards, Blenheim Vineyards, First Colony Winery, Horton Vineyards, Trump Winery and too many others to list them all. Monticello, Montpelier, UVA, the Blue Ridge Parkway. This truly is an amazingly beautiful and rich region of the country.
This was our first BW "close to house" say where we parked our trailer immediately next to HY HO VA's house. We weren't sure what to expect. Well, it was perfect! The house is set up so the one side is very isolated with no windows facing the parking space that's adjacent to power and water hookups and features views to the woods and nature on three sides. Our host greeted us upon arrival with clear instructions and gracious offers to help as needed. We enjoyed three nights with HY HO VA and were able to share some stories and experiences. Very nice, check it out yourself!
Thanks HY HO VA!
We enjoyed our stay at this location. Our hosts were very helpful in getting us set up with water and electricity. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
They treated us like close friends or relatives. They were wonderful hosts in every way. They met us in their driveway as we were pulling in. They helped us park our trailer near the electrical plug in. They took the time to visit with us and provide suggestions on what we could do in their area. They suggested BBQ Exchange which we tried and simply loved. The bottom line is that they were fantastic. Their property was gorgeous and heavenly. It was very peaceful and quiet.
This was a great experience for our first time Boondocking at someone’s home. They were kind and welcoming and inviting to let us walk about and use the amenities.
C-ville has many wonderful hiking trails, restaurants, cideries, wineries, you-pick orchards, and even a neat place called Edible Landscaping that we visited while we were there.
We will likely visit again in the future if we can.
Sorry it has been so long to leave a review, but we truly enjoyed our stay at HY HO VA. He met us upon arrival and showed us the site. Everything you could ask for; level, quiet, and power for the night. We will definitely be back to this location when in the area again. Thanks so much.
HY HO VA were the perfect hosts, easy to communicate with and so kind to offer water and electric. Their place was pretty, easy to access, and we had good conversation. If back in the area, we would love to return!
Our host assisted me in backing up where I could connect power and then help me solve a problem my had with my camper, very easy in and out and a quiet peaceful night.
We had an excellent stay. Very convenient off the freeway. Hosts were very nice people. We liked the dark and quiet location. Access was easy and not a problem.
My thanks to HY HO VA for making and unexpected trip to the area a most welcoming one. Highly recommend!
Fantastic location! So peaceful and the hosts could not have been nicer. If they throw out a food recommendation, TAKE IT! Thanks for sharing your beautiful space, HY HO!
Hy Ho's place is always a great place to stay.
Warm and welcoming, with water and 30 amp electric.
What more can a weary traveler ask for?
May they visit us sometime soon!
Two of the most classy people I've met in my life. They welcomed and made me feel like I was home away from home.
They responded to every question promptly and accurately detailed.
The driveway park area is quite, spacious and close to major routes.
I can only hope that our stay at HY HO VA will be matched by others in the future. The communication from the start of our inquiry through our 3 day stay was great! We travel through the State once a year and we hope we have an opportunity to meet again. Would highly recommend HY HO VA.
We enjoyed every minute of our overnight stay with HY HO VA.
Wonderful hosts! Could not have been better...They set a high standard for a boondocker experience..
Looking forward to seeing them again someday.
Had a very pleasant overnight stay. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer to tour the area but had to keep traveling home. Our hosts were quite friendly and we had a few good conversations discussing travel, excellent BBQ takeout location and general productive and informative chit chat. Would definitely stay at this beautiful stop again.
Although I was not able to meet these hosts due to social isolation, I felt welcomed at their beautiful location.
They responded quickly to my request and provided excellent information and directions. I am grateful they allowed me to stay during this difficult time. Thank you for making my journey home easier and safer.
I was greeted by the host when I arrived. Very quiet neighborhood, very pleasant stay. I felt very safe. Close to I-64.
Wow, we did not know how beautiful this part of Virginia is. And HY HO VA's land is so peaceful. Great parking location and a perfectly placed 30 amp plug.
We thank them for being such wonderful hosts! A+
HY-HO showed great hospitality in our short visit. They accommodated our overnight needs and had outstanding amenities and a genial manner. In the midst of our drive from North Carolina to the D.C. area, this proved a great stopping place, far enough off the highway for some peacefulness but near enough to get back on the road quickly. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend HY-HO to others.
Great hosts near Richmond Virginia. A most interesting couple with interesting occupations. Once we got to talking, we went out for dinner together in a famous BBQ joint to continue getting to know each other. And they wouldn't let me pay. We need more hosts like them (LOL).
Highly recommend them if your in that area.
This was my first time using BW. The hosts were feeling under the weather so we didn't share germs but I'm sure they're great people. The location is secluded but it wasn't so far away that you couldn't just up and go somewhere quick. It was quiet and peaceful which is exactly what I was looking for. Chuck gave excellent directions. Very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.
Didn't meet the hosts, but they were quite accommodating and patient with my ever changing schedule.
Very warm and made us feel at home
Lovely area beautiful home
This was a great overnight stop for us westerners while wandering through the great state of Virgina. A beautiful property! and we enjoyed a brief visit with our gracious host. Thank you for hosting us!
A beautiful spot to spend the night. It was great to have a 30 amp outlet to plug into. While we never got the chance to meet our hosts their directions to their home were clear and easy to follow. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Would stay here again.
very friendly and helpfull hosts and it's a very nice place to stay
Once again our visit with Hi Ho was wonderful.
They are a most charming, welcoming couple.
Our only complaint is there aren't enough hours in an evening to finish great conversations about our travels and theirs.
The host is a gentleman and a pleasure to speak with. We stayed one night. I would highly recommend HY HO VA when in that area of Virginia. Thank you!
This was our first Boondocking experience. The bar has been set very high. 30 amp hook up, water, and flat spot for parking. 2 miles down a dirt road, but just 5 miles from shopping. The host provided very clear instructions I’ve had to find the location, where to park, and where to find the hook ups.
Chuck and Sabrina have a beautiful place and are great hosts. Thy gave us tons of advice of the local restaurants and sites. The spot for our camper was level and clean as was the entire property. Very quiet and peaceful. Thank you Chuck and Sabrina for being so gracious!
HY HO VA is a first class site and wonderful hosts in everyway.
Had a really nice stay for one night. Hosts were as nice as they could be, and interesting people to talk to. I hope to stop that way again this fall and plan to spend some time touring the local sights, vineyards and historic places.
This was our first experience as guests of Boondockers Welcome and these hosts were extremely kind. They welcomed us and helped us with parking and hookup to electricity. We arrived a little later than planned and didn’t have a chance to chat much but they made it a super experience. Thanks so much!
I enjoyed the agricultural landscape in the area. very quiet location. great trail in the woods to stretch my legs. I would choose again when in the area.
Three thumbs up !!
The hosts were very welcoming and a terrific location And a very peaceful night. Thanks again for being a host site and hosting me
HY HO VA were great hosts, very welcoming and gave us lots of useful information on the area, both around Charlotteswille and other places on our planned journey. Their location is great for visiting Monticello and Montpelier. They have a home in lovely grounds and the hook up and fresh water were an added bonus. Our first experience of boon docking- would definitely recommend them if you are in the area. Thanks for a great stay.
It's always a pleasure to see HY HO. Just like visiting old friends. Such a warm and welcoming couple, be sure to ask for a stay if you're ever in the Charlottesville area.
HY HO VA was very kind to allow us to stay overnight, even though he was not around that evening. So unfortunately we didn't get to meet him, but hopefully we'll see him on the road someday.
The spot is not too far from Charlottesville, and it's very quiet since it's not on a busy road. His offer of 30 Amps of power and well water were much appreciated and the site is fairly level. Strongly recommended for RV travelers.
Well, what can we say?!?!? We met them in March and we specialy drove back to them on our way back to have 24 hours together before we went back to the Netherlands. There are not words enough to discribe how those 24 hours were. We really hope to see them at our place one time (soon). We miss them already. Thank you for everything, you are wonderful xx
A perfect stop for visiting the areas around Orange, Gordonsville, Barboursville, and greater Charlottesville areas!! Our hosts could have not been more gracious, welcoming, and generous sharing their beautiful property — they have set the bar very high for other Hosts!!!
Location Bonus: Stop in Gordonsville at the BBQ Exchange restaurant for amazing variety BBQ meats and all the best sides!!!
Awesome couple with a nice location and 30 amp hookup! Enjoyed our convo and the delicious water on site. Lots of great recommendations for things to do nearby, as well! Thanks again!
We really enjoyed our stayover here. It's a lovely place and a nice drive through the country getting there. Being able to plug in was an added bonus. Thanks for sharing your place with fellow boondockers.
On our second day RVing we stayed with Chuck, Sabrena and Colette. We have a nice click, we talked about 7 hours and stayed an extra day. We woke up with lots of snow on our RV. They directly invited us for dinner. So much hospitality!!! We are very gratefull for everything 👍🇮🇶 We hope we will see them in the Netherlands.
