retired teacher; my wife and I finally saw all the states by RV (except Hawaii) Details: My wife and I enjoy the RV lifestyle. Have been renting RV's since 1978. Presently own a 1991 Fleetwood Searcher with super-low miles (it's still a "dinosaur"). We spent three months getting it road-worthy and back to almost original condition after the previous owner negelected it for basically 15 years. We live 10 blocks from the Pacific Ocean in Manhattan Beach, CA. Lots of things to see within an hour or two of our home: beaches, mountains, desert, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, etc. Our driveway is on a slightly uphill grade, but shouldn't affect operation of fridge. Can accomodate maximum of 27' length RV's. Both of our cars are garaged, but we can park them on the nearest cross-street for a day or so to accommodate boon-dockers. As of May, 2016, we have seen all 50 states by RV (except for Hawaii). Home Town: Manhattan Beach, CA Favorite Boondocking Locations: Lake Cachuma, Lake Casitas, Lake Lopez. But my wife usually prefers full hook-ups. Skills or Expertise to Share: Am fairly mechanical; had a handyman business for 10 years after I retired from teaching in 2002. Lots of tools on-hand if Rv'ers need assistance. Familiar with a Mac; not sure if I qualify as an "amazing" cook, but I cook a lot. Most of our guests seem to enjoy my cooking.

It has been a great stay! I was worried from the reviews to see how the slope was going to be but I had everything I needed for the driveway. I worried for nothing. In the morning, I almost did not go as it was raining a lot where I was but I chose to go anyway once the rain had stopped. I am glad I did. We had a sunny rest of the day allowing us to see the beautiful sunset on the ocean visible from the street. He met with us and gave us the instructions for water and electricity. They even have a nice sheet done with information. They are a lovely couple. The neighbour saw us with my kids and ahe came over with her daughter and we bonded. We ended up making friends with them and her family. The day we left, the host helped me with finding a spot to stay for a couple night nearby since I had not found a place to go. We have been blessed with support and definitively felt loved. We ended up visiting the pier and the aquarium. It was a cold windy day but it was nice to go see. If you need to do laundry, we went to Coin-Op Laundry which offers cash and card laundry machines with free soap. Great place to go!

Joe and Jackie are a lovely couple. I felt safe, it was quiet, slept like a baby, and was able to get a lot of work done. You will need levels, but Joe handmade some perfect ones for you. Thank you so much for for the two-night stay, Joe and Jackie!
