We are about 10 minutes from Lower Sackville, about 25 minutes from downtown Halifax or Dartmouth and about 8 minutes from the main highway (Hwy 101).
Your parking spot is in our driveway (gravel) in the suburbs. Reasonably level (we have planks to help you if needed). Suitable for Class B and smaller Class A and C units up to about 30 feet or so. For a motorhome, driving in is best for privacy - your RV door will overlook the side lawn.
There is a small public beach on a freshwater lake about a 2 minute walk from our house. Lovely for a refreshing morning, afternoon or evening dip!
We don't mind if you need to run your generator for a while, but please respect our neighbours by keeping it off overnight (10pm-7am).
We can offer a 30 amp or a 15 amp electrical hook-up if needed, water if needed (from a well).
We share our space with two medium sized dogs who are off leash in the yard - so pets are welcome - but must be dog friendly, on leash (unless we have discussed it), and you must pick up after them!
Aussi, je peux parler un peu de francais (mais mon mari ne peut pas), alors si vous ne parlez pas beaucoup d'anglais, je pense que nous peuvons encore communiquer!
NOTES FOR BIGGER RIGS: Slides on both sides may be an issue as width is a bit restricted, but we'll see what we can do! Bigger trailers might have a harder time manuvering into the driveway so not suitable for large trailers or 5th wheels. Not sure if a 30 foot trailer could manuver into the driveway as we have not yet had anyone try, so it might be wise to have a back up plan!
Please plan to arrive before dark! We understand things happen...if they do, please contact us so we know when to expect you.
No smoking on the property unless you are in your RV please!
Generators are ok, but please keep them off between 10pm and 7am.
Our two dogs are loose on the property - we do try to keep them from bothering company, but you may still get the odd visit! Please keep your pets on-leash and remember to pick up after them...thanks!
Paved but winding residential road...easy drive!
Overnight street parking is ok except in the winter. There is also a public beach just down the road (about a two minute walk) where a vehicle could be parked if absolutely necessary. Depending on the length of your rig, the tow vehicle may fit in front of it.
Lower Sackville has most major services (library, hospital, grocery stores, service stations, banks, walking trails, off leash dog park etc.) Also close by are several attractions - Uniacke Estate Museum Park, Fultz House Museum, Atlantic Splash Adventure (Atlantic Playland), Scott Manor House (Bedford).
In Halifax - visit the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, Historic Properties, Museum of the Atlantic, Alexander Keiths Brewery, Citadel Hill, Discovery Centre, Museum of Natural History, Pier 21, Point Pleasant Park, etc.
In Dartmouth - visit Shearwater Aviation Museum, Shubie Canal, shop at Dartmouth Crossing, take the ferry to Halifax etc.
The Peggy's Cove/Swiss Air Memorial area is a nice day trip from here, as is the gateway to the Annapolis Valley (Windsor, Wolfville, Blomiden, Cape Split etc.)
When we arrived our hosts greeted us warmly and provided us with an electric hook up. We enjoyed chatting with them about our mutual travel destinations and we had a nice restful nights sleep. Overall it was a good layover in our travels. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.
Gwen and Brian were such wonderful hosts! They made us feel right at home, provided water, electric and wifi right away, and were awesome sources of local and general knowledge! We got to use their beautiful back yard and deck for a fantastic rest day from way too much travelling, and had a great potluck dinner on the second night trading travel stories and learning so much more than just local info. Thank you for sharing so much wisdom with us.
Maya and Shady loved having the yard to play in and fun playmates in Ronin and Carmen.
We’re actually worried we’ve peaked too soon and found the best hosts on the very first stay!
Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality and kindness - you guys are awesome!
Loved their dogs.
I have a much better idea of which style RV I’m gonna have next.
Would love to stay there again.
We were made to feel really welcomed. Gwen and Brian gave us lots of great tips and we shared a meal together. House located a few houses from a lake with a beach. Would love to visit again. Hugs to Carmen and Rowen.

The hosts not only feel welcome, but made me feel entirely at home. Offered to help in any way they can. I stayed with them going to and coming back from my destination. Each time I was given maps, location and hwy information that helped me immensely. Wish they could have helped on my New Brunswick trek back. Became lost and drove clear across New Brunswick's interior..and had to go back the same way. Will look forward to staying w them again. I thank you b roaming
A very welcome stay with great conversation and kind hospitality! Can't wait to do it again! Thank you and loved your Zion layout. (grin)
What a pleasant stay!B-Roaming were more than we could have hoped. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were a welcome sight when we got turned around in Halifax! Hope we meet again and have an opportunity to host them one day.
