Huntsville, Algonquin Park, Arrowhead Park,
Lots of hills getting to this place, but worth it.
There is a big backyard to boondock in and it is very peaceful and quiet here.
Hosts were pleasant, there dog Coco friendly, and they were very knowledgeable about boondocking, with lots of useful tips.
We enjoyed learning about their belgian malinois, and seeing the dog videos.
Stay safe and happy travels!!!
Had a lovely night. Level spot behind house. Surrounded by forest. Very quiete
Would go again
We had such a great time! The hosts were so friendly! We loved hearing about their travels and checking out their homemade trailer and smokehouse! The towering trees made the area shaded and full of singing birds! Thanks so much for the great time! We hope to be back again in the fall!
A very relaxing stay and a great base to ride the area from. Dog lovers will find a wonderful Belgian Shepard here. The hosts are very gracious. Hope to return next year. Danke Schoen.
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay atLakeobay! The hosts and their beautiful dog were very friendly and we exchanged travel stories as they and us have travelled from coast to coast in Canada from Newfoundland to B.C and Yukon/NWT to the end of the Dempster Highway!
We would highly recommend this place!
Lovely to meet ... great property and knowledgeable hosts. We should have been two nights, but shortened to just the one night. We were close to Algonquin and in our day travels Came across the opportunity to Lakeside camp. Highly recommend Lakeobay Hosts.
We stayed for 2 nights with Joe and Gabi they were very hospitable, they live in a beautiful area with many places to visit. Thank you so much for having us and maybe we shall see you again.
We stayed here for 2 nightA in August/20 and I’m very happy that we did. Our hosts were very hospitable and informative. We chatted immensely about our travels. (I love his home made travel trailer). They are GREAT people, you will love them. I highly recommend this place. See you again soon.
I stayed here for one night. They welcomed me to lovely backyard surrounded by trees and a sunny place in the backyard. It was great to meet a "birthday buddy". They were abounding in hospitality.
The road in was beautiful delight in the Muskoka vacation land that I enjoyed so much in my growing up years. They are south of Huntsville ON. where there is good shopping for your every need.
We enjoyed our time with Lakeobay Hostess. They were most helpful showed us around Huntsville, had lots of
interesting discussion, just a great time. Thank YOU.
Gabi and Joe have been wonderful hosts. It was our first time boondocking and we loved the experience and were very well welcomed. Thank you a lot Gabi and Joe!
We could stay here despite their absence Thanks to their daughter. Nice quiet place , very Nice lake nearby. Had Great swin there
A warm welcome awaits you at this host's beautiful, quiet rural setting in the heart of Muskoka. Coffee and treats were shared as well as some handy man work and east coast travel recommendations. As a newbie rv'er it was perfect in every way. Thank you so much for hosting me. Best wishes on your next adventure!
We stayed with Lakeobay for three nights in May 2017 and we loved staying with this wonderful couple. From the very beginning on we felt so welcomed. She baked a yummy strawberry rhubarb pie and we were invited for coffee and cake. They made us feel so comfortable and we were talking and laughing a lot and found out that he comes from the same region in Germany where we are from and we had so much fun.
The second day they took us around to see Huntsville and the lake region and in the evening we had a delicious barbecue with their excellent homemade sausages. She also gave me some of her herbs from the garden and food for our trip – and he helped us out, too: We were telling him that we are thinking of buying a canoe and surprise! surprise! He had a canoe that he doesn’t use anymore and he sold it to us and helped us bringing it up on the roof of our motorhome.
Their place is really beautiful with huge trees surrounding a nice garden with lots of space for the motorhome and connection to water and electricity.
It was hard for us to leave, because we really loved it there! They are still so young in their minds and they have done so much in their lives and are still hungry for more. They are one of those kinds that are not easy to find those days – we feel very lucky that we had the opportunity to meet and boondock with them. We’ll miss your smiles!
See you soon hopefully – safe travels – Diana and Tobi
We stayed with this couple for 1 night and had a wonderful, quiet stay. They showed us their area, invited us to a coffee and talked about traveling and much more. We hope to cross paths again in the future. Thank you!
