A large private yard and area backed up to state land. Although we are on a main road, it is quiet at night. We have all the amenities of a campground. We are gay friendly too! We have a small dog named Kodi. We have a natural gas bbq available for use by our guests as well as a large two level deck, with a fire pit that opens to an expansive blue stone patio. You are welcome to use the hot tub with a fire going and food on the bbq! We welcome you to make yourselves at home.
We are always making improvements on our yard! We love to RV and Boat, that's where we are most weekends!
If a dump station is needed, we are about 15 minutes or so from Cabela's where they offer a dump station. http://www.sanidumps.com/locationmap2.php?id=11002
Please keep your dog on a leash at all times or a long tether attached to the tree in the backyard or on your rig as our neighbors and us have dogs and we would hate to have a quarrel!
We ask that guests arrive on the first day when we are already home from work so we can meet and greet you. If you're arriving before the agreed upon time, there are two parks within a couple of miles that have ample parking as well as a grocery store parking lot about a 1/2 mile from us.
If we have experienced a lot of rain we ask that you do not turn your vehicle or motor home around on the grass. Please do your best to reverse into driveway. We have spoken with our neighbors across the street and we may use their driveway to assist in getting into our lot.
You're welcome to use the hot tub, fire ring, chairs, tables etc. that are out. If you have a child under 14 years old, we ask that he/she does not use the hot tub for safety reasons. Please try to not bring glass into the hot tub. We encourage you to enjoy your adult beverages while relaxing and gazing at the stars. If you do not have plastic ware, please ask, we have plenty!! If you need help using it just ask, we're pretty darn friendly!
We are on a main road so backing in is easy and can fit about any size rig. There are several areas to place the camper, either in the yard or the gravel driveway. Yard is available as long as its not too wet, we are on a high water table!
During the winter - water will be at limited supply but can be accessed if necessary. Boondocking is subject to how much snow we have and if we have an area to host you.
Six Flags New England, Air Museum, Trolly Museum, Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts, Lots of local artisan shops (farmington valley), Little Poland in New Britain, CT. Basketball and Volleyball Hall of Fames within 30 minutes. Excellent eateries and breweries nearby. We are also about 1.5 hours from NYC, Albany, Boston, Providence, Vermont and New Hampshire.
As rookies to RV Camping, the guys were very helpful with some good tips! We rolled in easy, after a few weeks of connecting it was like we knew each other. (great communication). The evening was spent relaxing and chatting with some wine, we just felt so comfortable going to bed knowing we were safe and secure. Our doggie was welcomed too and doted over. We would love to see these guys up north!
The hosts were very welcoming and the space was comfortable. We parked in their gravel drive and was able to put out our slides. Water fill and electric was available. Their compaionship and friendship were shared over a meal and we enjoyed using the hot tub and gazing at the stars. We highly recommend these hosts.
We had a wonderful stay! Very communicative hosts and super friendly. We had fun hanging out with and sharing stories with them. Beautiful yard with plenty of room.
These folks seem like really nice guys. Even though our schedule and their's didn't quite work out, they were gracious in their response to our request and answered very quickly. We'll try to hook up with them on our next pass thru their beautiful area. Hope to see you guys out on the road. Mark
We stayed here for 2 nights and they were so great and helpful. Shared a drink together and told stories that interested all. We were given information to aid with some work we needed on our rig and for some great sites and dining locations - thanks so much for the heads up on the polish restaurant -- and the sites to see in Vermont - ]our hosts were so helpful and fun to be with - we would be glad to recommend them as host to anyone - hope to see you all on the road again
We enjoyed our stay at Boondockers are Welcome Here. The space is large, level, and dog-friendly, and the owners/hosts are so helpful and have lots of great stories to share. Communication was excellent! Whatever we needed, our hosts provided. The location is close to the Hartford area but also right down the road from some of the nicest state parks and forest locations, so it is easy to go and explore the countryside. We will definitely stay again next time we are out this way, and highly recommend them.
