We had a wonderful time. The ranch is beautiful and there are so many cool things to see and do in the area. The best part of our stay were the hosts. They are the nicest people you could meet. Mrs old cowboy was very welcoming and talking to Mr old cowboy was fantastic. His knowledge about the history and places to visit throughout the western states was amazing. We look forward to meeting up with our new friends again someday.
I got a bit lost, but they got me pointed in the right direction and what a fantastic property. Old Cowboy has restored my faith in humanity and are just wonderful people. Not only were really friendly, but Old Cowboy saved my dog when she got herself into trouble in the creek. I hope our paths cross again.
Thank you Old Cowboy for such a peaceful, relaxing place to spend the night. I enjoyed our conversation (I think we could have continued in that vein for hours 😉😉).
Waking up surrounded by those calves was a hoot!! You are a terrific Boondocking host:):)
Oklahoma in the spring is always a weather experience and this trip didn't disappoint. I arrived at the ranch just before a crazy storm. The cowboy and his family were super friendly, helping set up and even checking the road after the storm for my safety. I felt as comfortable as I could be given the storm. Great stay!
OC is a great guy, very forthcoming, open, honest, generous and considerate. I pulled in a little bewildered to be in a ranch off a back road that I had a hard time finding. I rely on google maps and I still have a lot to learn. I called to verify I was opening the right cattle gate and he reassured me I was in the right place. A great set up for any size rig, although the narrow bridge and tight turn to get over the creek might be daunting for a large class A. He helped me back my trailer onto a nice gravel pad he has prepared. It rained all night but the surfaces were still easy to navigate the next day.
I certainly hope to visit again some time!
Once again, I had another incredible stay here. Unfortunately it was a quick one but there is no doubt that Old Cowboy and his family have become family! Thank you!!
Our first BW experience was great. The reviews here don't lie!
These folks are so nice and welcoming! Their ranch is perfect to spend a few days and your pets are going to be SO HAPPY! We hope to see them again!
We spent 3 night at the Old Cowboy's place. Had issues with the car we were towing and gave lots of help. He was wealth of information. Lou and Daisy had fun running in the pasture and finding out what a cow is.
Thank you to our hosts for a pleasant stay! It was our 2nd time to stay at The Old Cowboy's, the first time being summer 2019. It was like coming home to old friends.
Thank you for the welcoming greeting and the comforts of home. We are honored to recommend this host to other weary travelers.
Hosts are fantastic, extremely warm, friendly and personable. We hit if off right from the start. Conversation was so easy. We had many things in common from the jobs we had, traveling in the NW and RV’ing in general (among many others). They make you feel right at home. The Hosts are no longer Hosts. They are family! If you come here, plan to stay for more than a day and get to know them. We’re glad we did and we think you will be too!
The location is easy to get to. There is a concrete bridge to cross on site. We are 42’ and 20,000 lbs. It’s tight on the turn but can be accomplished. If you are new to RV’ing with a large rig, work with the Host before crossing. For rigs smaller than 30’, there should be no issue. It would be advisable to confirm with the hosts that rain will not be an issue if you choose to park in the pasture. They have other options as well. The ground is otherwise hard packed and no problem.
Verizon is 4 bars without the WeBoost. Just point the antenna to Point to 175.0° and you will have at least 40 channels. If you are solar equipped, there are no issues with getting enough sun.
With the Hosts permission, we would easily come back for future visits. You will thoroughly enjoy the country air and the Hosts. If you are anywhere near here, consider this a fantastic opportunity to stay and get to meet some incredible folks! Thank you Hosts for a wonderful stay!
Absolutely one of our favorite boondocking sites in all our travels. Gracious hosts, fantastic spot, peaceful overnight, cattle in the pasture and the rumble of the train going by... what more could one want on a ranch in Oklahoma. Many thanks.
Our overnight stop at The Old Cowboy's Ranch Pasture was a great experience. Our hosts were friendly, gracious and really made us feel at home. Our fur-baby really appreciated the chance to stretch her legs and explore. Their ranch is gorgeous and peaceful. Our only regret is that our travel schedule only let us stay one night. We will definitely request a stay when we come through this way again.
We had a great time at Old Cowboy’s place! The location is fantastic and the host told us about some area things to do and see. We woke up one morning to cows out our front door, does it get any better!? We visited The Pioneer Woman’s shop and Woolaroc Museum which we knew nothing about before arriving, Woolaroc was such a great place to visit and we’re thankful to the host for letting us know about it! The hosts had family in town so we were able to meet and have a nice evening visit with them all. We highly recommend stopping by if you can! We enjoyed our stay.
This stop is the very why I joined a site like Boondockers Welcome. Jim and Lisa were the absolute nicest and most accommodating people I could've ever asked for. I happened to be there when their own family was visiting and they welcomed me into their home. I had an absolute blast socializing and laughing and have made friends in the process. Thank you!
What a pleasure it was to stay with such great hosts. Even though we mostly social distanced. they brought me the greatest pulled pork dinner! My dogs loved the open spaces and the cows. They had a perfect place for me to park with electric and water. I recommend staying here!
The hosts were super accommodating and great to talk with, although we kept a safe 6 ft distance. I roamed around the property a bit after driving all day. It's a beautiful place. I'd definitely go back.
This was our 2nd stay with the Old Cowboy. With less than ideal weather for traveling and the Coronavirus social distancing it was wonderful to see the Old Cowboy’s smiling face when we pulled into the driveway. Even though we kept our distance it was a warm welcome that felt like arriving at an old friend’s home. We missed being able to sit and chat and can’t wait till the next time we are thru their state to Boondock with The Old Cowboy.
They were wonderful. We arrived in our 2004 Born Free and were welcome like old friends. The old cowboy has a Trek RV in his garage. We loved it and my wife, who thought she had to have slide-outs, decided the Trek was big enough. We loved the bed in the ceiling. Ms. Old Cowboy got on the Trek Track web site and found us a Trek 252 Miles away. We bought it. Love it! We are full time and hit the road for the west this week.
Such a nice time visiting with Old Cowboy and his wife. Their location is so peaceful with such beautiful sunsets. Hope to stay with them again when passing thru the area.
I can't say enough about this host, they were wonderful!! I stayed over Thanksgiving and they invited me to dinner with their family. My dog also needed stitches removed (as he had surgery before we left Nebraska) and I asked for a local vet who could take out the stitches. They called their vet and she made a house call to take my dog's stitches out. They are real salt of the Earth people.
They were very helpful to a newbie RVer and I will surely stay with them the next time I'm passing through.
A quiet beautiful view and such a peaceful area. They made us feel right at home and we really enjoyed their company.
Due to the amount of rain received in the area we could not get in to their property with the size & weight of our motor home. Before we had even arrived they had made arrangements for us to stay in their churches parking lot. When we arrived at the church numerous people appeared looking to help us out. What a great community. Everyone we met was really nice & helpful. Jim & Lisa are an absolutely great couple. We would have loved to spend some more time with them. They both helped us out with better directions to our next stop. Jim even called the next day to see if we arrived safely. If we are ever back this way this is a definate stop.
Very nice people and a lovely piece of property! Thanks so much!
Thanks old cowboy....you treated me like a long lost friend....it was great connecting with you.You have built a wonderful home on your property...could not have had a better stay (great coffee).....thanks a ton. Windmill camp.
