We are a retired couple with grown children and grandchildren Details: We spent 4 months in 2017 travelling from Alberta to the east coast and back. We left in June and returned in October. We didn't spend more than 2 nights in camp-grounds the whole summer, opting for Boondockers, truck stops, family and friends. The last time we had RVed was in the mid 80s. We spent a warm winter in an converted school bus in the Texas area with our three children, ages 3 to 10. It was a great experience. Warm is relative, of course, but there was no snow, and I don't remember a frost until we got back to Canada in May. Now it is just the two of us, but we are having as much enjoyment out of it. We enjoy the grandchildren too much to do this full time yet, but trips of a few months duration are in the planning stages. We are at the stage where we have the freedom to travel, and are enjoying meeting like minded people, both as guests and as hosts. Home Town: In the summer, our little town offers an outdoor swimming pool, and golf course as well as some sight seeing. We are about 2 hours out of Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall) is a famous mall worldwide, home of the Edmonton Oilers and the Edmonton Eskimos... also Drumheller, AB is just 1 and a half hours away offers a great Dinasaur Museum that families will adore. Jasper and Banff are a must see if you come out to Alberta... also Grande Cache, AB. is a beautifully scenic little place situated on a mountain. It's like being in Jasper without the tourist scene... lots of hiking, camping, fishing, and lakes. Alberta has a lot of fine sight seeing places... check out the Alberta tourism website for much more info. Favorite Boondocking Locations: ALL of our boondocking experiences were AWESOME! Thanks to great hosts and guests who have since become friends! These experiences have been amazing for us, we have met alot of like-minded people! Skills or Expertise to Share: He likes Woodworking, both love gardening, and she likes crafts and sewing! Love to read books too!

This was our first stay through BW and, as it happened the hosts were themselves away. We had communication via text and all worked out in the end. A good stay when we weren't sure what to expect with absent hosts. Thank you.

As Australians in Nth America for 5 months this year, Pierre & Pat was our intro to Boondockers. Easy conversation, helpful set up and warm welcome at “happy hour” followed by time indoors helped us on our understanding of Canada and how Canadians think. We shall go back home with good memories of our stay in this country town. Many thanks, Pierre & Pat, gor your open honest discussions and warm welcome. Thanks, mate!

This was a lovely stopover as we explored this area of Alberta. Great communication leading up to our stay. Easy access to the nice large parking spot in the driveway at the front of their house. Very friendly hosts, and we appreciated the tour of their converted bus!
