Location is our home set on six acres in a rural area. Our long paved driveway leads to our house which is about 300 feet back from the main road.
No generators running after 11 pm or before 9 am please.
Paved main road ( it is a regional road so it is well travelled) and paved driveway. Road is busy at times but RV parking (and our home) is well back from road (about 300 ft). Traffic is quieter on weekends and very quiet overnight. There are no immediate residential neighbours although there are two small office buildings, one on either side of our 6 acres. These buildings are not visible from the parking area. Turnaround area has large evergreen trees with some low-hanging branches. For our 17 foot travel trailer, these are not a problem.
Ample parking for tow vehicle either connected or not to your trailer. Please note that we deliberately leave on a light inside the workshop to discourage small animals from taking up residence in our workshop/barn. This is near the area where guests will park. Most guests don’t mind the light but if it is bothersome, please let us know and we can turn it off during your stay.
Send us a message to see if we have a spot available to fit your timeline.
Shopping (groceries, supplies, etc.) is about 10-15 minutes away. Downtown Ottawa is about 25 minutes (Parliament Hill, Rideau Centre, National Arts Centre, National Art Gallery, etc.). Canadian Tire Centre is 10-15 minutes. Wesley Clover Equestrian Park is 15-20 minutes. Diefenbunker about 5 minutes. Alice’s Cafe in Carp and the Cheshire Cat Pub at the corner of Carp Rd and Richardson Side Road are both great places to eat.

The hosts are very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. They gave us also a lot of useful informations. The stay in front of the beautiful stone house was very quiet. We like to remember the stay.
Everything was perfect : Nice place, easy to find, electricity, water & wifi.
Thanks again for the hospitality!
Beautiful and peaceful area!
Thanks for making my first experience a great one!!!
See you again on the future!!
We enjoyed a peaceful night at Wayne and Donna’s. Appreciated their hospitality and being able to visit awhile. We would recommend this location!
What great hosts! Not only did we have a comfortable place to put the rig, but hosts waynew.donnan had suggestions for attractions in the city (the light show by Parliament was fantastic!) And helpful tips and answers to our questions as new owners. Gracious hosts and a great stay! Please visit us in MN some day! :-)
Donna and Wayne were very gracious and delightful to spend time with. Getting from their home to the heart of Ottawa was very easy. We enjoyed their company so much that we hope that they will visit us in Wilmington, NC. The host site was terrific - off the road, quiet and shady. About 4 km from Carp which is delightful little village where you can get a great meal at Annie's Village Cafe.
Thank you waynew.donnan, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. It was a nice spot to camp while a just a short trip to visit our national capital. We also very much appreciated your warm hospitality and help in our time of need.
Donnan were super communicative and accommodating. They weren't there but made it easy to hook up and host our young family. It was such a large property!
Such a kind reception at short notice and despite the downpour - much appreciated. Hope we meet again.
Wayne and Donna are two enterprising business people who are willing to make space and time available for a Boondocker. They camp in a small tear drop trailer when they are not working on their cottage or maintaining their spacious rural setting property. I do not know where they get the energy, but they are certainly generous with their time. Throughout our stay they would occasionally check in and make sure we had everything we needed. We felt exceptionally safe and well taken care of. Power and water were always available. The boondocking site is 35 min. from downtown Ottawa, making it very easy to commute to wherever you are going as a tourist in the National Capital Region.
Great Hosts and a great place to stay. We are so thankful for the hospitality. We stayed for three nights the first two nights while the hosts were away. Glad that we met them on the last afternoon and enjoyed socializing in our trailer in the evening. Very convenient for visiting Ottawa, nice location.
Ok, don’t take that wrong, I mean it was great of them to offer to host us while they were away. Add to that that they already had guests coming! The place was great, easy to find and bonus: no mosquitos! Thanks so much for really extending your hospitality.
Our stay at donnatravelling was excellent. We enjoyed a quiet night of sleep before leaving in the morning. Everything was as described in their message. Thank you very much
They were very accommodating even though we gave them short notice. Very peaceful and quiet even though their driveway is right off the main road.
Lovely location in the country with an easy drive into Ottawa. The road in front is busy but the noise was hardly noticeable. It is always fun to meet a fellow boondocker who has the type of camper you have admired from afar. Chatting with our hosts was like talking to a long time neighbor over the fence at home. We hardly touched on the things to do in Ottawa so we will be back to this nice location.
Thanks for hosting the one night, it was greatly appreciated. Hope I can reciprocate on your visit here.
Thank you for letting us stay at your house for 2 nights. We would like to have seen you may be next time.
Hope you had time at the Park.
