When coming to our place, after driving through a neighborhood you will arrive at a rural setting where you can park on a flat gravel surface. Trees on the property are not a problem. Turn around is available. If towing, you will need to unhook as it is a back-in site. You may hear trains in the distance. We have a lot of deer and other wild animals on the property. If you have a pet it is best to keep it on a leash and/or watch it closely as there are woods all around. We have a large pond on the property which you are more than welcome to swim in and fish. As an FYI, we are about 15 miles off the large highway. If you are looking for a quick over night as you travel through, there is a Walmart and 2 campgrounds much closer to the highway than we are. There is good cell service here except for AT&T, which can be tricky at best. We do not have trash service available. Suggested Local Attractions:The National Stearman Fly-In 8 miles north, the week beginning Labor Day, annually. The first two weekends in October, the Knox County and Spoon River scenic drives are in progress where you will see many crafts, and local foods for sale. Usually the last weekend in June is the Railroad Days festival. There is a wonderful children's museum in the nearest town as well as an historical street with many quaint shops and eateries. 50 minutes north is Arsenal Island with a great deal of historical information and also the John Deere Pavilion with wonderful displays. 50 minutes south east is the Caterpillar pavilion and a very interesting children's museum.

House Rules

Relaxation and enjoyment is required! Mutual respect and common courtesy is of course understood. We do not expect compensation for the services that are provided other than a kind thank you. The 3 day maximum is negotiable. Let's talk. For your comfort and ours, it would be better to find our place before dark. It is not a hard location to find, but GPS and other things can easily send you astray.

I booked for one night as I was just driving through on my way east. I ended up staying a second night and we all had dinner together and visited as the hosts and other guests were so hospitable. It was all around a wonderful experience staying at your place. Thank you so much for your hospitality and I look forward to another trip out your way.

Felt like home for me and my pup, spacious and quiet. Woods walks, swimming, and conversations were enjoyed. Hosts were very accomodating to make it special for me and, especially, my dog. Would love to circle back to this place and people. Thanks again!
