As an FYI, we are about 20 miles off the large highway. If you are looking for a quick over night as you travel through, there is a Walmart and 2 campgrounds much closer to the highway than we are.
When coming to our place, after driving through a neighborhood you will arrive at a rural setting where you can park on a flat gravel surface.
Trees on the property are not a problem.
Turn around is available.
If towing, you will need to unhook as it is a back-in site.
You will hear trains in the distance as the next town north has seven main lines of railway running in and out and a massive hump yard.
We have a lot of deer and other wild animals on the property.
If you have a pet it is best to keep it on a leash and/or watch it closely as there are woods all around.
We have a large pond on the property which you are more than welcome to swim in.
Relaxation and enjoyment is required!
Mutual respect and common courtesy is of course understood.
The 3 day maximum is negotiable. Let's talk.
For your comfort, it would be better to find our place before dark. It is not a hard location to find, but GPS and other things can easily send you astray.
No problems. Wide open and easy even for the longest rigs.
Tow vehicle parking next to the rig.
The National Stearman Fly-In 8 miles north, the week beginning Labor Day, annually. The first two weekends in October, the Knox County and Spoon River scenic drives are in progress where you will see many crafts, and local foods for sale. Usually the last weekend in June is the Railroad Days festival. There is a wonderful children's museum in the nearest town as well as an historical street with many quaint shops and eateries. 50 minutes north is Arsenal Island with a great deal of historical information and also the John Deere Pavilion with wonderful displays. 50 minutes south east is the Caterpillar pavilion and a very interesting children's museum.
This is a great site. You would be hard pressed to find a more accomplished couple. Wishing them the best.
This host site is big rig friendly, you have to back in but very nice property . Will be staying again
The stay was amazing. It was an easy in and out and quiet. There is a train in the distance, but I've learned that if you are in Illinois you will hear a train in the distance. They helped us to find activities every day and urged us to come a little earlier to see the town's once a year festivals. We were able to relax around a fire and roast marshmallows the last night of our stay.
We loved our time here and will be stopping by again! We got to explore their large amount of property freely-they were welcoming and great people to talk with. I can't say enough great things about this stop! It was our first boondockers welcome stay and definitely made it so worth it!!
We are so excited to have had the opportunity to meet C and M and experience their amazing hospitality. We felt as if we had been friends for years. The scenery was breathtaking. I would rate this an easy 5 Star!. We're hope to have a chance to see them again.
Our host gave very good directions to their location . Easy access for our 37 ft class A we had 50 amp which we were so grateful as the heat and humidity was terrible. Beautiful location seeing the town and surrounding area enjoyed the old buildings . We enjoyed a meal on the 4 July and we met there friends we all had a great time. We deffently recommend this location. Hopefully our paths cross again thank you so much to our host.
Can't say thank you enough for letting us stay. Sorry we didn't get to meet C***** but we did meet M*****.
Nice folks in a quiet location. Once we retire we'll be able to arrive at our stops earlier and not need to leave early as we do now due to that four letter work "work".
Would be nice to spend some time with our hosts. Hopefully they didn't think us rude for arriving late and leaving early the next morning.
We stayed a few nights at this sight and really enjoyed our surrounding and the couple hosting. We are new to living in our motor home and Mark gave us good ideas to help us in our journeys.
We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time staying at cdmg's place. They have a fantastic location, with lots of cool improvements underway. Easy access, level ground to setup on. The host were top notch, we had a great time walking around their property together getting to know them and seeing their beautiful property. We highly recommend this location to anyone coming through this area, you will not be disappointed.
We can't say enough good things about these gracious and welcoming hosts. They certainly created a wonderful memory for us. We hope to see them again in the near future. Recommend anyone in the area visit them.
We had a great time with this host. Spent the evening visiting and enjoyed a glass of wine together watching the sunset and deer. Even heard some coyotes before dark. Cbmg, thanks again and you're welcome anytime at our home. Would be great running into each other on our travels.
We spent one night with these folks on our way north. I don't think there is anything else they could have done for us, extremely gracious hosts. They provided everything we needed for our RV plus some help with a water problem. We had a lovely visit watching the sunset. Whatever the highest rating is, they get it!
Hosts Cbmg were extremely warm and friendly. They made us feel like family. Our site was level and very accessible. This member is a must if you're traveling in the area west of Peoria Illinois
Site is in the country but close to a grocery store, gas station, family restaurant and coin laundry. Galesburg is only 10 miles away with city dining, shopping and entertainment.
Extremely nice and gracious hosts. Great sense of humor and outlook on life. Made us feel like long lost friends returned. Lots of wildlife viewing.
Will return when in the area.
We couldn't have asked for better hosts. They are a prime example of what makes boondocking fun, meeting great people. If you're ever in the area be sure to stop in , you will not be disappointed with the location, nor the hospitality.
Peace and quiet along with fantastic views. it's close to town, but you feel like you are way out in the country. We saw bunnies and fireflies at dusk.
Celia and Mark couldn't have been nicer. They even shared some of their garden veggies.
