Host and his wife are very lovely people, accommodating, and have a great quiet place to dry boondock. Will stay with them again in the future if it’s available.
We only stayed one night with Harvey and Lin but it changed our lives forever. Learning things about military history and the mission of their incredible charity called Quilts of Honor was just the beginning. They were very special hosts and I hope we can stay with them again in the future.
Our hosts are wonderful, fascinating folks! They shared info about a great foundation, Quilts of Valor. Can't thank them enough for a meaningful stay on a perfect spot. They are truly American patriots!
HC and his wife were absolutely a treat to meet. We just needed one night stay in between reservations elsewhere. HC greeted us on his golf cart and drove my husband down to spot to park camper. We chose to stay way in the back in the grass and sand so we could get our slides out and have field for kids to play in. HC has some great stories to tell. He and his wife do some great work with, and for, veterans. He enjoyed picking on my marine husband...all in fun though. He offered to let us stay longer but we didn't need it.
We would absolutely love to stay at their place again. As South Carolinians who travel fulltime, that is very possible.
Warning for those not familiar with the southeast...watch out for fireants.
We enjoyed a nice evening here! We arrived in the evening and HC greeted us almost immediately. We were able to park on a gravel road along the property. It was very quiet, except the sounds of nature! HC and his wife were very nice and he even gave us a stack of motor home magazines when we told him we’re relative newbies. HC is a very interesting guy who is a veteran (thanks for your service) and it still involved in many civic activities. Thanks for the stay!
Super hosts, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Harvey came over to ensure I was able to get situated. Very good stay for Boondockerswelcome self contained travelers needing only an overnight parking place.
Quiet, out of the way but close to the highway. Our hast was there to meet us even in the rain and cold.
Although it was raining occasionally our stay, we were treated to all types of birds and the occasional deer.
Peepers filled the night air....
Thanks for a much needed nights rest!

HC took great care to be sure I had solid directions and even waited at the main road on his lawnmower to lead me in. Robbie enjoyed being able to run in the field, and I really appreciated being able to recharge my powerpack. Great place to spend a night!
Stayed overnight with HC and wife. What a great place for a peaceful nights sleep. Maggie loved running around to her hearts content after being cooped up for two days in RV. Not enough time to visit, maybe next time! However did spend long time talking about our mutual musician friend in Louisiana!!! Who knew??!! Small world indeed! Maggie and I will definitely be back. A little slice of heaven indeed!
... It's just too bad I never made it!
HC is more than kind! Apart from a prompt reply with detailed direction and contact info, HC also pointed me to substantial fuel savings enroute.
However delays put me WAY behind schedule and I ended up not arriving in NC until midnight so I caught 40 winks at the NC Welcome Center.
I strongly hope we meet in the future and if HC is ever Canada bound, we would love the opportunity meet and be of assistance.
We got a prompt reply, great directions, and a friendly welcome from this wonderful couple. After some conversation they shared with us the work they do with veterans, which we found heartwarming. Lovely time, for which we are most grateful.
We were visiting relatives in their area and they were kind enough to allow us to park on their property. HC and his lovely wife were very accommodating, even when we went the wrong way (thanks to GPS hiccup). HC walked down, turned us around and guided us into the driveway. The area was great with lots of room. It was dry camp but that worked great for us.
Both of these people are so very friendly. We admired their stories about their volunteerism. They are truly a terrific couple.
Harvey and Lin were great hosts and made me feel right at home. Being new with towing I really appreciated Harvey guiding me right to the camping spot. They gave me excellent tidbits of very useful information . I felt supported and encouraged that I could actually do this trip I had just started on. I so enjoyed my overnight stay with the sound of birds and insects all around and deer coming within a few yards of my trailer - a lovely, lovely overnight stop.
