We can accommodate most any vehicle up to 40 foot. Parking is in front of the main house. Pets are welcome, you may bbq outside of vehicle, but you must use the fire ring by the barn if you want a fire (firewood avail at no charge), generators are welcome.
We have a second parking location for Truck Campers, Vans and Shorter Class "C" vehicles down by the barn. This location has no electric or water either. However, the fire pit is nearby.
We are located on 13+ acres of woods and farm land. If here when crops are planted, please stay out of the fields. You are welcome to walk in the woods. There is a public beach and boat ramp within a couple of miles of our home should you like to use them or to fish.
We don't smoke, if you do that's fine, just please don't throw the butts on the ground.
Also, if here when there's crops in the fields, please stay out of the fields.
Access road is paved, larger units will want to back into driveway. You will have plenty of room, the school bus used to back in. Driveway is gravel and parking is in grass to the West (left as you face the house) of the driveway, please do not drive or park in farm fields.
There is also parking by barn, but no electric available, probably better for smaller self-contained units.
We have several areas for parking, either along side your RV, in our drive, or down by the barn.
Most times we are available, or our son can host you as well. Please send us a message to ensure we can accommodate you during your timeline.
Please try to send messages during the Monday thru Friday time, as I often do not get on line during the weekends. But I do try to check at least once on the weekends via my phone.
We are about 30 miles from Shipshewana, IN and Notre Dame in South Bend, IN and about 10 miles North of Elkhart, IN. There are numerous lakes around us if you like to boat, swim or fish. During winter Swiss Valley Ski Resort is about 10 miles away.
Host met us upon arrival, even though it was late and rainy! Very helpful with setting us up and information. Welcomed and invited us to stay again ... which we will if we’re in the area again.
Passing through the area and this was a great place to be able to park my camper and tow vehicle for the night.
Host was super at communication and offered lots of sightseeing options. I was sad we didn't get to spend more time with him as we were just spending the night before moving on. Site is great and as described. He met us there to make sure we got parked alright and was very friendly. I hope we can come back when we have more time to spend. Thanks!
We enjoyed staying one night at Shaven's site. They are very kind people. They also gave us interesting suggestions in visiting Notre Dame University campus. Many thanks!
We wish to see them again.
