We're on a 1 acre property located in Mesachie Lake, which is just 5km past Lake Cowichan. Near the turnoff onto the Pacific Marine Rd, which offers a scenic circle route through Port Renfrew to Victoria. Our driveway will accommodate a large RV with a car or boat. Plenty of width to stretch out, but not turn around. Early morning traffic may disturb your sleep (although none of our guests have said it's a problem!)
Please, no generators out of respect for our neighbours.
There is a sani-dump station located in Lake Cowichan.
We are happy to provide water and power, and request a minimum $5 a day to cover our costs. Thanks for understanding.
IMPORTANT: Some guests using GPS have been guided waaay past our property into the middle of no where! Please make note of the address when you book.
We have wildlife that frequently travel through our property, so please be mindful of that. Do not leave food or garbage sitting out.
Paved, good condition.
Larger rigs will need to back in, which requires stopping traffic on a busy road near a bend in the road.
There's room in our driveway to accommodate a tow vehicle
Thousands flock to Lake Cowichan each summer to float down the river. There are other favourite swimming holes close by as well. A number of trails are available and more are currently being groomed and mapped. The drive to Port Renfrew and the big wild ocean is only an hour away. It's a pretty drive, with several scenic must-see stops on the way.
The host's location was a beautiful quiet spot near a lake. He offered us both power and wifi, which was great because we didn't get Telus reception in the area!.
Thanks for the stay!
I was pleased to have a quick answer, as I requested a stay with a 2-hour notice! Very nice area and I got good advice.
We had a lovely stay with the Zero280 hosts who immediately made us feel welcome and invited us for an evening campfire. The chairs were so comfy and the hosts were easy to engage in conversation. Their knowledge of local activities and sights was very helpful. The site was level and the power connection was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Zero280 to fellow Boondockers.
The hosts were vere friendly. Helped immediately when we arrived. Gave us water and a wifi code. That's all we needed.
We were welcomed by Zero280 by a quick response 1 day prior to our arrival.
Nice place, they gave a list of nice places to visit, they invited us for a cup of tea we had the chance to chat and exchange travel experience.
Really pleasant, even had some toys to entertain our 4 years old son.
We stayed at Mesachie for three nights in September, late in the season for most to this spectacular spot. The hosts were absolutely amazing. They gave us advice about what to see in the area as we had some drinks around the campfire (once it stopped raining). They were kind enough to let us plug in to their electricity. The dump (by donation) is in Lake Cowichan so a stop prior to getting here is a good idea if you’re beginning to fill up. These are the types of people that make the BDW program so wonderful, thanks for hosting us!!!
Onze eerste ervaring met Boondockers was meteen een hele goede. We zijn heel gastvrij ontvangen, kregen meteen stroom en wifi. Heerlijk geslapen in rustige omgeving.
It was getting late and I thought I would try Boondockers in the area where I was thinking that it was probably too late but immediately after I contacted zero280, I was greeted with a message that said come on by! Kathy was absolutely delightful and welcoming and even walked out to the road so I wouldn’t miss their place. They saved me at the last minute and I’m very grateful.
This was our first time Boondocking and was way beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Zero280. We wish them many years of RVING themselves.
The host are very easy to communicate with and have a lot of info to share about the area. Their hospitality is heart warming and makes you want to stay…
Loved the swimming spot and would love to come back.
Great spot in the town of Mesachie Lake. Be careful if using a GPS, that it doesn’t take you through ML and on to a logging road! Lol! Hosts were welcoming and very helpful. Beautiful place! Thank you!
Lovely country setting, with easy access to Duncan and Salt Spring Island. Dave & Kathy are a lovely, welcoming couple, that we are happy to have met. Kathy gave us a sheet of suggested spots to visit which we found very helpful.
We were accomodated even through our hosts were themselves were away.Everything went perfect!Agreat place to overnight!.Highly recommended.Hope to have another opportunity in the future when Mr and Mrs Zero are around.Thank you, folks!
Discovered this slice of paradise, only 1.5 hours from our home! We were cordially welcomed by Mr Zero with a wonderful campfire (bucket list for trip!) and before long a group of us settled in comfortably for a visit while night fell. Mrs Zero and others joined us. She is community minded and filled us in on all the summer happenings in which she is closely involved. The whole area is so pretty and scenic, I would have loved to stay for the summer, move here, or at the very least retire to this area some day...They recommended the scenic circle tour for our next visit and we hope to take them up on it!
A lovely spot in a wonderful location, thank you for your hospitality.
Wow, we have been welcomed like family by Cathy and David. As it happened, they just bought their first RV and needed some help with understanding all the functions of it. We decided to go on a on our planned trip the next day, but came back when we knew they had some time to go over it. It was a lot of fun and at the end of the day we have found new friends. We hope they will enjoy their travels as much as we do. We will visit again.
Cathey and David were excellent hosts. We ended up only staying one night. We would stay there again. They gave excellent ideas for things to do in the area.
Our hosts made sure we were comfortably settled for the evening and in the morning, that we hadn't been worried about the bear who visited their apple tree during the night! Very accomodating - thanks for a restful spot!
I was heading towards Lake Cowichan to find wifi and do some writing. Decided to check Boobdockers Welcome and found Cathy and David right near by. They responded almost instantly and we headed to their place. They were very welcoming and have a beautiful property close to a lake for swimming, which my dog was very happy about.
Lovely, easy going couple. Very grateful for their hospitality.
Kelly and Booboo
What a wonderful couple. We really enjoyed our time together with Cathy and Dave. Great Host, highly recommend!
It is a lovely place to be. The deer walk in the garden and a swimming lake is within walking distance. The scenery is beautiful and the hospitality of the host is great. We enjoyed each other's stories, while enjoying a delicious glass of wine (home-made) at the (propane) Campfire and on the terrace. The help with the boat and finding fishing spots was great. Thanks for everything and we see each other sometimes. Greetings Robert and Nelleke
Wow, each BDW stay seems to get better and better. My hosts at this site were delightful. I felt like I was coming home. Their home and yard is quiet and filled with wildlife. My cat, leashes trained loved it here. I slept well in their quiet drive. It was shaded most of the day. I was very comfortable and happy here. Would I stay again? In a minute!
We have only stayed for two nights and did not really have the chance to meet our hosts. They were however very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed staying with them a lot adlnd regret we have to leave so soon. I can recommend this place ro any one!! Great garden, perfect shade, nicely quiet, swimming spot in walking distance.
I hope you will enjoy this place as much as we did!!
We considered that we were not at the right moment at their site. Busy with renovation activities at their house. Nevertheless we were very welcome and got all support. Cattthy was very helpful in booking our ferry reservation and advising our trip. Thanks a lot guys and hope you enjoy your new entrance and garage. Hope to meet later again.
We really much enjoyed the hospitality and would love to come back on another trip.
They let us stay for two nights and gave us ideas where to go. We liked the lake very much and the kids could also play in the huge garden. Thanks again for the great service, we even got firewood!
Cathy and Dave have been excellent hosts. We are very much appreciative of their warm welcome.
The location of their property is in heaven. We have enjoyed our stay here greatly!
Our first time using this service. We stayed at this host in early April. Weather was not great, but the location is good and the hosts are very friendly. Would love to visit again at a time when weather is better.
We only spent one night at Zero280. They were great hosts by being very welcoming and kind.
They gave us precious infos and spots to visit around the island, very thoughtful!
Cath and Frank
We spent 3 nights at zero280's place and we had good time. They provided a lot of good suggestions and advices. They were very good host and we highly recommend them. Arrived as strangers and left with news friends. May you always have the wind on your back. The sherbees.
Zero280 let me stay with them for two nights over the weekend which worked out perfectly for me.
We stayed two nights with Zero280. They were very nice and considerate hosts. They even provided us with a list of places to visit in their area and gave us a heads up on road closure in our destination route. We felt safe on their well kept property and enjoyed their company...would definitely recommend these hosts. Thank you, and whenever we see an Orange Clown, we'll think of you! Lol!

At the first try we couldn't match our schedule, but luckily a couple of days later it worked out and we were warmly welcomed.
We enjoyed our stay and the lakes around.
Take care and thank you!
